thanks and yes i thought that was a positive move on the catch and release. i was only a tagalong so had nothing to do with the fishos-never met them before but a great experience regardless

for the money i think its a hard bike to beat. runs well and can go near anywhere you point it providing you ride to conditions.

Nice clip on the CB125F; injection is always better than carby, which is what my VL 250 has. On cold mornings it gets a bit of carby icing, which makes for 'interesting' running.
thought it was pretty good myself on the catch and release plus i was there just at the right time too.
last car i had with carby icing was back in 77 when i bought a new toyota corolla.....had lots of issues with it icing up and it took them quite some time to partly solve the issue too.

i think if your chasing a 125 its got some good info there. if you have the 125e maybe not what you want to hear but more importantly...its true!

thought he did pretty well. i didn't think he'd catch much at all...well maybe a small one but not the case. felt like grabbing the rod myself...lol
overall i had a pretty good 20 minutes climbing about the fishing area.
must admit though i didn't like the area that much and was watching the ground closely. could hardly see where we were walking and years back i wore the fang marks in the heel of my runners...lol

yeah i think he did pretty good on that catch of the day. his old man missed it but i lucky and caught it on camera so all good there. not sure if they caught more as i moved on back to the bike review. so i'd say thats his trophy fish till the next one comes along.

Hey Warro, Nice clip 👍 I have the 125E and completely agree regarding the vibes at 80km/h and can take a while to warm up. Despite that I still love the little bike for my commute that has no higher speed zones than 70
I think a big plus for both the F and E is of course there price point both out the door and to maintain but they are also a fantastic bike to learn how to do servicing.
I've learnt how to do the oil, air filter, brakes and valve clearance so far and there's a wealth of knowledge out there for these bikes.
I wouldn't trade for the F but when my E kicks it I'll look at the or even the 125 Suzuki they do, have you ever had the Suzuki g125? If so any thoughts on it?

honestly you'd have to ride a cb12f to know how good it is compared to the cb125e which i could have taken off the daughter but declined her offer. plus i let her ride the f and she was very impressed but slightly too high for her. she much prefers the grom.im sort of letting you in on good information and if i were you i'd cash the cb125e and buy an f.
if you want a good all rounder try the suzuki vstom 250 sx. its a good bike and runs easy at 100 kph. i did have 2 of the suzuki 110 scooters they were pretty nippy too.
Great fish and great video Warro. I'm still waiting for my cb125f. The good thing about being financially constrained like me is that I have to be satisfied with the couple of bikes that I am able to afford, the Classic and soon to be Honda. 👍
i think its impossible to go wrong on those two choices and long term you'll save a bit of expense waiting for others to try and test them out.

I just finished my pre-learner course recently, they gave us bikes to ride and there was 3 of the CB125e models, I rode one (two others were Benelli 125s). I thought it was pretty good when I rode it but then it's the first and only bike I've ever ridden so obviously my judgement is biased by the excitement of riding for the first time and having nothing to compare it to. But I am in talks with a dealer to get one of these F models as my first bike, I really like the white color so I'm gonna get that too. They're out of stock atm apparently so they must be somewhat popular, it's definitely true that you can't find any on the used market.
just look at it this way. ive bought 65 brand new motorcycles in the past 10 years...the cb125E is a very poor sample of a motorcycle and i would rate it 1/10 and thats only for price when it was $2600. at $3500 its 0/10
when you get offered a near new mint condition unit with 1200 klm on the clock for free and knock it back....that alone tells the story...lol
you might say there are those who swear by them. unfortunately they know very little or i know too much...lol
just buy the"F" and tell me later what a great little bike it really is.

Found a used one for 2900. Only 200 km on it. Wasn't sure if I payed too much but now I feel better 😂
@@copernicusvanstruselclit9508 yeah its ok. if i'd been selling mine i'd say aud$2500 used but thats me and in reality i dont care what i sell them for when selling as long as i move it and can move on.
i bought a camera a few days back which cost me more than your cb125f so looking at it that way i think you did pretty well there.
either way lucky you didn't buy the cb125e or i'd be saying you paid aud$2000 too much...lol
i think you'll enjoy the cb125f but i have 5 others to fall bacxk on so overall its a nice little set of wheels and runs extremely well too
@@ridewithwarro crazy thing is I couldnt find a used 2020+ e for less than 2400. Glad I went with the F for fuel injection and better fuel economy. What kind of actually fuel economy are you getting?

not a bad bike that little honda my bet is some who have the carby "E" version may think different but i've ridden both and this little "F' is a good little budget priced bike
Guessing the 'E' stands for 'Economy' and the 'F' stands for 'Frills'. I know which one I'd go for based on this review. Man, can't tell you how cool the ending fishing footage was. Good clean fun. So nice to see a kid having a good time in nature vs all that electronic junk. And your right, very impressed with the catch & release as well. His parents are doing a great job.
i think so too. not sure how many kids would have let a fish like that go.....in the old days i'd taken it...lol

i think the "E" model stood for end of the line and the "F" for finally we fixed it....lol
could be wrong then again i rode both so i could easily be right...lol

Hi Warro, I agree with you on most things about the CB125E (we have one), but it definitely has a gear indicator and 5 speed box.
in that case my mistake. i was only on the E for a short time as the bar vibration was a bit too much. but saying that its no worse than a crf300l or cb500x.
just that hard starting and long period warm up was the issue. dont know that side may improve in time or it may be carby related.

@@ridewithwarro No worries Warro, after 10 months and 2000k's the long warm up period does not improve but I have noticed that it is very much related to ambient temperature. On 28ish plus degree days it is almost acceptable but on cooler days it is a PITA. It's unbelievable that a small capacity air-cooled bike can take that long to warm up! Also, it's interesting that the older bike is faster. I think it lost 1hp with injection but that does amount to a 10% reduction!
@@thebobster9848 yeah i'd say the "f" is a bit slower but if you get the chance to ride one i think you'll totally enjoy the ride experience.

total agree and it was very nice to actually witness some-thing years back i would not have done. times have changed indeed.
CB125E (carburetor version) needs 95 / 98 grade fuel, and some people might want to experiment with packing the carburetor needle upwards by up to about 0.5mm.
Jam the wedge end of one half of a clothes peg (pref. wooden) between the rubber throttle grip and the plastic switch block to increase the engine idle speed for a quicker warm up.
the 125e is just a cheap bike and not a very good cheap bike at that. this 125f in conparision is the far better option to buy.
its far smooter to ride with very little vibration and easy to start too
no 5 minute warm up like the 125e and no serious nasty vibes either.
sure the cb125eas may be slightly quicker in the top speed but i was offered the daughters near new bike which i tested for free and knocked it back.
its always good to ride better bikes and then you have a very good idea on bad bikes.
in my case ive owned 70 brand new bikes over past 12 years and the cb125e is far nehind the cb125f
i now have the new 2024 honda gb350 and the cb125f is far behind it.
so no-one really wins-just better bikes!

@@ridewithwarro that fish would have been coming home with me for a nice moment in the pan with a good dob of butter but that's not how people think today we've become removed from the source of proper food and that's not a good thing....but I'm a bit of a hillbilly ha ha. But kudos to that young guy that was a great effort and a lifetime experience and well done catch and release. Well done young man.
@@daintree2455 just lucky i bumped into them when i was half way through the cb125f review. plus luck was on his side and he caught a great size fish-personal best - and scored it on the gopro too
Looks like practical little bike. I still can't understand why on most bigger bikes there is no chainguard. It is hustle with naked chain for commuting and touring. That is one of the reasons that I love scooters so much. I've sold my classic 350 and thinking of getting adventure scooter.. X-adv 350 Honda.. Or Kymco DT X360 .. Test drives soon.
yeah scooters are good. i had the forza 350 and the xmax 300 which i now is the latest model with the gps and is the far better bike.
if your chasing just a scooter dont rule out the xmax 300 as its a really good set of wheels. my reviews here.
i had the adv 150 and it had the worst suspension ive ever been on in my life. that bad i just didn't do a review on it and cashed it quick as it was that bad. looked good but after that all downhill there.
thought about the bigger kymco but i'd have to travel 250 klm round trips for service etc
@@ridewithwarro At that moment I have old Kymco grand dink 250 but it is 20 years old and problems pop up regularly.. It is also with small 12" wheels and I live in x-communist country with terrible roads. So, that is my thought to try this adv scooters and retire the Kymco. Long time ago I had old 94 Transalp, that was very good on my roads.

@@Stefan_trekkie if say you purchased a cb125f fitted it with duel purpose tyres and upgraded the rear end i think you could ride it nearly anywhere. ive been in some pretty rough ground with this one and it ran along pretty good really.

G'day Warro, your right mate some motorcycles are a bit of a disappointment after you spend good money l have had a few myself a belt drive Kawasaki 500 twin a nightmare l hated it from day one, that young boy will be a fisherman for life, he was so pleased, did his Father see the catch, l changed the front sprocket on the RE 650 from a 15 too a 16 tooth and it's dropped the revs at 100 KMs from 4000rpm to 3600rpm and an extra 50km distance to a tank of fuel, cheers mate ride safe, Neil 🤠.
i think if your chasing a commuter 125cc bike one would find this very interesting. on the other hand if one had the "E" version might not be the case.

nice bike the cb125f for the small outlay. some or most would say either bike is a great bike.....not the case here!

that 16t to 15t move certainly had some difference plus i bet it didn't effect the power delivery much and still a good bike to ride.

yeah i think i was a bit more excited than the young fella. have not caught a trout for many years so got a bit of trout fever...lol nice to see him release it and overall a pretty good day.
that fish was caught say 5 minutes after i joined then and i then returned to the bike and headed home.
