The reason why this style is in danger of becoming extinct is our collective disparaging of black culture. We felt embarrased by it and felt it was inferior to the new CCM "worship" and praise music. That good 'ole cross centered celebratory Gospel was a thing we had to move beyond in our new "deeper" understanding of the "spirit" and theological deepness.
@@jrod7290 you couldn’t have said it better. I feel that true gospel is coming back bc our “new way of worship” is more entertaining then authentic and it’s not effective (sometimes.) The songs of the old usually brings me through and not this new stuff
