Wow... I'll never complain about how expensive hand made custom guitars are!!
imagine how much more expensive it would be if it was actually done by hand.
Absolutely beautiful! The colors, the detail, everything just looks so nice!
As an aspiring luthier I just found myself in paradise when I found your channel. Thank you for sharing all of this with so much care.
This piece in particular is one of the most beautiful artworks I've ever seen.
Thanks Andrew. Credit goes to John @ Labels Extreme who designed and cut the inlay though
.
AMAZING, WHAT A CRAFT !
PATIENCE, PRECISION ... LOOKS GREAT !
Absolute work of art. I look forward to your next build videos!
Thanks Tyler
Stunning, simply stunning, looks fantastic mate
oh my god that is so beautiful, what a great job !
Thankyou :-)
Oh my! That is truly beautiful and the colours with the effervescent turquoise 'n' Gold pearl is wondrous against the dark ebony. I wish I could have a guitar with features like this, Ebony is my favourite wood for fretboards and I always dream about having a guitar built with a one piece ebony neck and maybe a design on the headstock too.
That’s insane. Very well done. Thanks for posting.
wow amazing craftwork Fletcher
Inspirational as always David.
Magnificent inlay work.
Your videos continue to amaze me with every new one you put up. It's like eating in a fine restaurant, where when they serve you it looks beautiful, but not like there's much on the plate to fill you up like a greasy burger joint would. You know....'millions served'! But after you finish a meal at Fletcher's restaurant, you're both full, extremely satisfied and feel like you just had the best meal of your life. You're fine dining and I'm MacDonald's. But the world needs both;-) But yours is just a bit more special. You disappear for months and then serve up another meal that would MAKE OLD GORDON RAMSAY WEEP! Thanks for the incredible meal. I feel like I should leave a tip;-)
G'day Nelson, I'm quite impressed with the fact that you managed to get the words "McDonalds" and "Gordon Ramsey" into a comment about a fretboard inlay ! ;-) Hehe Cheers mate !
A guy feels what he feels eh..;-) How's that bit of Canadian for you..haha
Beautiful. Lovely design. I have a friend who does inlay work in a very similar fashion. The only difference is I send him fretted fretboards. Although I do use stainless steel fret wire and they do last a very long time, I have had to refret a couple and It makes it easier.
The nicest fingerboard I've ever seen!! 👏
WOoo man totally worth it waiting for this video, amazing the work with Cnc, and obviusly your concentration on Details, in each video a learn more and more with you, thanks for sharing,
Your welcome Leandro
That's incredible, I own a custom guitar company, I've been looking for someone like this
A work of utter beauty.
that person is at the top of their game. beautiful.
Amazingly stunning!
That's simply EPIC!
Absolutely incredible!
Truly, I always wanted to make my own guitars and inlay Celtic patterns! This is a remarkable coincidence. Regards, John Fletcher
Catching up on some FHG videos and what a way to start. Sure it's all CNC machined but still, amazing detail with perfect results.
stunning...great work man..
Que gran trabajo!!!!!! Mis felicitaciones!!
tot is simply magnificent and magical! Congratulations on this great achievement vraimet I like a lot! Sincerely Vicent. I just shade the table of my guitar in blue viex this advance ... gently, but everything is handmade!
beautiful work!
fantastic work!
Yes that CNC machine did a nice inlay job.
Amazing !
The finish is killer and a vidéo of the work is really a great idea !
Thanks for watching !
beautiful work! thats amazing.
Cheers Alex
Absolutely Beautiful
Awesome work !!!!!
Oh the things I would do with a CNC machine. Dirty, dirty things.
Wow!! absolutely stunning. That would be unreal if you could put lighting behind it !!!!!
Man ... that is next level right there ....
Uma obra de arte!
WOW! Just amazing!!
Friggin gorgeous! ..
That CnC sure beats the hell out of using a jewelers saw where every stroke as to be perfect and that's what many of us get paid for. Very nice indeed.
Beautiful!
Just think about it for a moment, all this was done by hand back in the days. Has technology made things easier, or made us dumper. Great job no the less.
Lester freeman clearly it's made you "dumper"
I need one of those cnc routers. nice work.
sure looks good John sure is an artist. I would end up sticking all the inlays to myself I am sure.
patrick trites Haha, so would I ;-) John IS an artist
gorgeous!
Stunning
Hello Sir, I wonder what kind of bits do you use in this video and what size? Fantastic work!
ABSOLUMENT MAGNIFIQUE !
Looks awesome!
Thanks Scott !
Fantastic!
GORGEOUS!!
That's just insane!!! In a good way. Damn that's amazing. I wonder what a fret board like that would cost.... 8-)
A True Master Piece!..
thank you for sharing this.
I love the design and the way it was done is impressing.
personally I think this kind of thing should be on a fretless instrument,
its a shame to install frets in the middle of such a nice work
Being a celtic art fan, That has to be the most beautiful inlays I have ever seen! I guess it is too much to hope that this guitar build that this fretboard is matched to is going to be on video.....?
I'll upload the finished guitar in a video for sure
i must say this is probs the nicest fretboard i have actually seen, so elegant in design.
thanks for sharing! very nice!
I see you got a new camera! Very lovely work like always!
I did ! A nice DSLR now, I'm loving it
***** the difference is pretty evident! Very nice. Glad to see you taking to the CNC route as well...
one of these days Im gonna have to get you to build me one...
Awesome! Thanks for sharing! :)
Cheers mate !
Amazing job to say the least. Real art! How can I get one too please? Where are you from?
wow that is sick!
Was the tang clearance to prevent cracking?
wow amazing
What feed rate did you use for carving the inlays, and how many vertical passes did you have it do?
Impressive af!
godly work, im thinking about ordering a custom guitar from fletcher
wow what a great job could you tell me who the music is from 55 sec to 441 man thats my kinda music great jam
How much clearance do you leave between the machine cut out, and the actual size the the pearl to be inlayed for the machine to cut.
Fantástico,parabéns!
My God! That fretboard looks incredible! One of THE nicest I've ever seen. What would something like that cost to have done, including materials and labor? I would guesstimate around $400 - 500 USD?
This is awsome man!
how many cost this kind of inlay?
Looks great...
Glad you like it ! :-)
Wow fantastic! I could only imagine the emotion it would create for the musician playing such a instrument.Ha ha buddy asking $400-500 US! I'm sure there is over 10 hours on that project, probably even 20?
Anyone know of a service in the UK which will do the same?
In general how many passes do you use to cut Mother of Pearl? thx. I keep breaking bits doing 4 passes.
Poderia me ajudar? Agradeço muito
What cnc is that you are using?
So very much interesting.
What was your tolerance between the male and female inlay parts to get a snug, but not too snug fit?
hi it`s realy beauty , can tell me cnc machine model and cnc bit size please ???
fyi, i'm using exotics, purple heart, ebony, etc, just simple inlay of her name
How much to do my Custom inlay/ design for a 24 frets/fretboard...?
how many hours you spend on that?
hello i would like to ask. i Use aspire too for fret slotting but it takes too long as it cuts one pass and then the router lifts up to go back and cut again...is there any way so as to cut side to side?
splendid....
when cutting for the frets why the larger pockets through the inlays 7:24 ..?
Magnifico!
Grazie Stefano
Thank You for all Your videos (all Your`s guitars are the MASTERPIECE). I only dream to reach such level in guitar building. What software do You use to create blueprint for this inlay ( i think this is not AutoCad nor Solidworks). Sorry for my bad English (i am not from English speaking country).
Nike Lialka Hi, I think John used a software program called Aspire to lay out the inlay
I would like to ask what kind of glue you use here, can it stick unsteadily? Why not 502
What software did you use to run your CNC? What was the size of your smallest end-mill bit?
sick!
amazing intricate job!! holy crap. i just wanna do an inlay of mother of pearl for a box i'm making for my daughter by hand. i have 20yrs of carpentry experience, but am struggling with doing the inlay correctly...can anyone point me to a vid that explains how i can do it by hand...i have dremel's and stuff, just need some direction.
VERY COOL!!
Stunning!!
great very cool
Please Email me if this G-code design is something I can buy? I'd like to use it in a custom pool cue stick I am trying to build
Really cool video Dave, thanks for posting it. I'm surprised you don't have a CNC for doing this stuff! Or maybe you do?
Gday mate, no CNC here. Maybe one day !
hello you have files for sale, which your contact
Does anyone have an idea of what to look for, as in an entry level-hobbyist CNC machine that would be big enough to do the fretboards, necks and bodies? My company has a 100,000 Multicam 120 x 60, but it would be so hard to find time on it to do anything. We use Solidworks and VisualCAM, does anyone have any idea on what the software he is using is called? Is it specialized? Thanks again for a beautiful show and tell with that Celtic Cross!
budget?

Ronald Forsyth - I ended up buying a small Stepcraft 2 840 router. it can be upgraded to have a 5-10 tool holder and I think it will be good for this kind of work. any advice for a starting novice? man, your work blows me away....
I'm glad you like get an email mail 2 me and we'll crossed easy with each other
sounds good. Thanks, will be in contact
