    Exceptional marcatos, exceptional dynamics (I am repeating myself), exceptional job. Well done, trumpetman. You found the right mood in this piece of music. 👍

    This sounds great! Can I ask what trumpet you play? Also, how long do you practice each day? What practice books do you suggest? Do you practice scales? And can you tell us how your practice each day?
    Sorry for all the questions. I am always trying to get better at the trumpet.

    Very nice! May I ask: how do you count? 2/2 halve note 1 tell, but how do you count the quarter notes and 1/16 notes? Thank you in advance. Do you use 1e+a?

    • @thetrumpetman
      @thetrumpetman  Před 3 lety +2

      Thanks! I just kind of think of everything as half value. So I'm treating the quarter notes like 8th notes and the 8th notes like 16th notes. So the quarter notes are 1 + 2 + whereas the 8th notes are 1e+a 2e+a

      1 2/ 2 2/ 3 2… etc. and sixteenth notes are separated by syllables for example a quintuplet would be geophysical 1. Hope that helps

    It's sad that your sound was better 3 years ago... Also the dynamics are not good enough, more difference in mf en mp, the diminuendo's to mf are going to p and suddenly you start playing again at mf, while you stopped your diminuendo in p... I'm not saying it's bad, but I expected better :) Maybe it's because I'm also a trumpet player, but hey, we (collegues) need to help eachother out, right? :D

    • @thetrumpetman
      @thetrumpetman  Před 3 lety

      This was actually recorded four years ago lol. I just put sheet music to it now. I tried to notate it the way I played it back then. The notation just might not have been clear. It was intentional to diminuendo to p and start the next phrase at mf. But thanks for the comment :)

    • @jeroenschoofs
      @jeroenschoofs Před 3 lety

      @@jeroenschoofs No worries. I'm always open to constructive criticism lol. If you play along with this video then it will kinda be like us playing trumpet together xD
