I have this light and love it, however I just set the day time light to 20% brightness because when I had it bright, although looks great, the algae grows crazy . I'm hopping this helps because I have been having to clean my tank weekly.
I have had a horrible time setting this timer. I have got the daytime on set. Do you turn it to off to set the time off. Think I will just turn the moonlight off. On one of the times, the brightness will not go below 7. My fingers are sore from pressing on it. Do you have any other set up videos of this model ? Thanks
Im going insane! I want to use the DIY mode. I have entered into 53 mode & set all of the times/brightness. But it just goes back to 24hr mode! I have went into the 24 hour mode to make sure it is off, it says OFF. but it keeps reverting back to daylight mode! The brightness is showing far brighter than I want & the daylight settings are the same as daylight mode, not the DIY mode that I set. How do I make the light enter into DIY mode & stay in DIY mode?
@@southwestwind I finally figured it out. It will still look like it is in 24/7 mode even when it is in DIY mode. The display that shows the light values only displays the % of white light, ignoring the other light modes. It ended up working & now I really like this light. It was just a PITA to get working.

How about a "simple" mode where you can set the time you want it to come on and then go off at the brightness level you want?? It must not be complicated enough...
Hey all! I'm trying to work out the best hours to set my light to. Any recommendations? I have a black algae issue at the moment (had it before this light too) but wondering if I'm doing too much light!
@@Fredsreviews58 it's near glass doors into a conservatory so I suppose it does get some light. I think the algae is getting worse though. How many hours and at what % do you go?
@@abz8928 I do very low percentage for a few hours. You will probably have to try and see what works best for you though. If you have live plants, they need more light
Thank you so much for your video, while I like the light I really wish it came with decent instructions rather than a sheet with such tiny writing and poor English that it is basically impossible to read and understand (the only failing to what otherwise seems like the perfect aquarium light)

Right. I get everything set but L8 doesn’t allow me to adjust the time at all. It has L8 turning off an hour after l1 is supposed to come on

What happens if a power break happens and turns back on...does everything reset? Or is there battery memory?

I set up the times and everything but the light doesn’t go on when it’s supposed to or go off when it’s supposed too
This light makes absolutely no sense, I set the times and everything, I come back the next day and all the settings are changed some how
It doesn't for me, it works well, my light went out once and it thrue off the hour..

Don't switch it off at the plug resets everything and make it 24h clock to make things easier
on 51 how do you set the OFF time? It skips from the start time over to brightness.

would this be too small for a 10 gallon? or should i get the 18-24 in instead
As long as the light fits a 20 inch tank, it should work with a 10 gallon tank

Is the tank near a window. I usually just turn on the light for a few hours a day, as long as room isn't too dark or right by a window
