- Last week someone complained about us to the police that we fight with each other at our place.
it was a false allegation but one of a kind experience.

Unfortunate to hear that. It must have been very confusing and shocking to face this. But I do think that your neighbours might have been genuinely concerned about either of your safety and that's why they chose to involve the police. Either way, I feel most Swedish people avoid interfering in people's problems or confronting people. That's why they didn't approach and ask you directly.
I also live in Gothenburg. In early 2020, someone made a complaint that I have been beating up my kid or something. Social services showed up. I DON'T EVEN HAVE A KID.
So this could be just racism IMO.
Thank you Ashutosh for sharing your experience. I totally understand your points but at the same time, domestic violence crimes are high in Sweden and most of the cases are related to drug abuse. That could be the reason they acted like that. You can complain/ give feedback about your experience and I am sure they will take it positively.
I am so sorry that you had to go through this. Swedish people don't usually interfere in other people's problems, but when it comes to domestic abuse, many don't think and out of concern they complain. I hate to say this, but in cases where there are complaints of domestic violence, the police can act in such a way. Swedish police are allowed to enter your residence and search it if they have reason to believe you have committed a crime. The police won't disclose who complained, but if you feel in any way that you have been mistreated by the police then you should definitely complain as the police do take such complaints very seriously as well.

I'm also staying in Sweden, and I have heard a lot about such cases. one think we all should keep in mind while living in Sweden is that any of our act should not disturb anyone life here, by any mean ex. sound, violence, music , party, even while walking or driving or any damn thing. people are very smart here they don't talk to you about concern but they find it easy to call police. but I appreciate the way you both have handled that situation. nest time don't make any videos outside that apartment specially violence and noise type.
I also feel that it was wrong of the police to just barge in the apartment. Not sure about the protocol is but it just feels wrong. Also good point you raised that we could also ask Id for the police .

One of our friends have experienced this...some neighbours complained to the police after hearing their children crying. Police came and ask them if you are hitting your children or not.

Generally people in Sweden are quite introvert and quite and There are cases of calling police just because of the noise.
Why you say you shouldn't have given the ID? I don't think it matters.
Neighbours here sometimes behave strange and yes definitely the way police approached was totally wrong. It’s actually breach of the privacy.

Hi Ashutosh, I'd suggest you to consult with a lawyer once. Since it happened once, It's gonna happen again. You don't know the neighbor who made the complaint. It could be that lady across the hall or someone else entirely. And, they could make a false complaint again. If anything happens in the future, the police are gonna chain these previous complaints to that. Which will end up effecting your current status in sweden.
In my opinion, consulting a lawyer would be the best course of action. As you know, In sweden they take these kinda complaints very seriously. If this isn't dealt properly, and if this happens again, the only thing is gonna be in their file is that they investigated a domestic violence complaint once before.

Highly likely that your insta video shoot takes could have prompted your neighbour to lodge the complaint.
Guessing that the police got a tip, from a neighbor?, that you resemble a person who escaped a few days ago or something similar. So they checked to see if it could be true.
Well you can think possitive this better than America police will never came check on you 👍❤️

I could have.. but kaun itna panga lega.. but if we ever get a chance , I will definitely ask the lady if she had made the complaint and clarify things. Otherwise I will always be a bad person in her mind 😂
