- A friend was looking through a local yard and discovered this 1150! Knowing that I’ve wanted one for years and they’re impossible to find, I couldn’t pass up this opportunity!
Can't wait to see that beauty restored. You lucky bastard.
Right on😉😆
JT's "Luck" is self inflicted... full time job, family, part time farmer, part time mechanic and restorer... not many could keep up. A good role model. Kudos to JT.
Great job
Howard's inc in Mt Hope Kansas might have the pieces for your front on the 1150. Great find but I don't like the V8's
I appreciate that 😊
The startled look on your face when that thing started was great. I guarantee you. Somebody bought a farm had no idea what that was. And the first thing to go in a junkyard are the tires. I'm so glad you got what you want. Nothing's better than buying something out of a junkyard and finding out it runs. Been there, done that great content j. T keep up the great work. Looking forward to what you do with it next.
Bingo! That was like finding the needle in the haystack lol. I’ll be making this one super nice!
@@jtsbarnngrill6873what about the 4166 ih
That's awesome. I'm sure you will make it look even better. Go have a beer before you shower. 😂
Most likely explanation for sure
Result!! 🥳
For Pete's sakes JT I can't even buy a tractor from a dealer that runs that good and you get one out of the scrap yard😅 good job
Thanks 😆
I grew up riding on the fender of an 1150. We still have it. The sound of one running is a beautiful sound. Great to see one saved from the crusher!
Right on!
Purrs like a kitten, can't wait for the cab to be removed. Will look so much better, Thanks JT for another great tractor video
Right on!
That means you didn't watch the video till the end
When I was 16 in 1985 I was looking for a bigger tractor to do tillage work and I found a 1150 for sale in the classified section. It was dualed up and had a factory dog house type cab, but it was a pretty straight machine. The reason I didn’t buy it was that it had a ton of un burnt fuel running down the outside of the muffler. She slobbered bad. It might have cleared up being hooked up to a plow pulling hard, but then again it might not had. They wanted 4000 back then and I only had a 5000 dollar line of credit from the bank here in town and I didn’t want to gamble on it. I realized that it was unusual for a bank to be giving a loan to a kid and I didn’t want to screw it up. The vice president was taking a risk on me. 4000 dollars was quite a bit of money to me back then. I ended up getting a 1135 which I still have today. I’ve been running the 1135 since 1986 and I’m now 55 years old. Nice find on the 1150. she seems to run good! 👍🏼
Right on! The 1135 is pretty hard to beat
JT I rather have your luck than a license to STEEL!!! YOU ARE THE JUNK YARD KING!!!
😆😆😆😆
JT, was so excited to see this ole girl fire off that quick. Love watching a master mechanic at work. This video will be one of my favorites. Good job my friend.
Th you very much!
Holy crap!! Fantastic find. Time for a lottery ticket.
Indeed!
I find it somewhat weird that old Tractors still get scrapped in America. Here in the UK, they're basically sacred. You rarely see them get scrapped here.
It is called planned obsolescence...
Honestly it's rhat way here in the US too. That's why he's so shocked to not only have found it there, but be in such great shape. I don't think I've ever saw an old tractor at a scrap yard unless it's totally junk. There is tractor junkyards here though where old tractors will be put out and a guy can come in and pick off the parts he needs. Once it's picked clean they'll gut it and sell the parts they can save and scrap what they can't.
Usually when an old machine ends up in the yard it’s because she’s either plum wore out or something really expensive broke or you can’t get parts to fix something.
I was almost as happy as JT when that Ole girl fired off...congrats on a great find JT...you owe your friend that found it a cold beer.
I owe him a couple lol
Or 2 or 3 maybe even a case
I love you getting that tractor and lifted up with that pick it up with that forklift in the back
That is AWESOME!!! That is by far my favorite body style of the Massey Ferguson tractors. So cool!
This is one of the best videos I've watched in a while, to see a farmer find something like this is wonderful my friend, very happy for you buddy.
Thank you very much! I appreciate that!
Wow! That word expresses every emotion when that big Ole V8 popped off!! You luck SOB... haha!

That was a better start than a lot of modern engines .
A Massey Ferguson owner in New Zealand .
Thanks!
Man you've got to be kidding me that is great man I'm happy you came across that what in the hell was somebody thinking when they just junked its either way great show man I'm happy for you
Thank you!
I'm so happy for you that I got us both a cold beer to celebrate. I drank yours first and now I'm drinking mine. Cheers!!
Right on 😉
Watching that go down the road on that little trailer gave me flashbacks to when I did the same thing with the remains of a 2255 White. The trailer started to split in half partway home. Luckily I got pulled off the highway before it broke all the way. Spent the next day straightening, welding and reinforcing the trailer before towing it the rest of the way home. Glad to see you made it with no issues.
The old 1150 was just looking for a little love! Nice find JT!
Thanks 👍
Now this is exciting. The 1150 was the first big tractor I ever drove! Great, great tractor. I am looking forward to watching this beast come back to life!
Excellent! Thank you!

Heck I was excited just to see the tires on that thing let alone see it run. We had an old Massey when I was in my teens. (56now) not sure what model it was but seeing this thing brought back a lot of 40 year old memories.
Right on!
You should Go back and do the same deal with the front end loader at that junk yard
What an incredible find!! Congratulations JT!! Finding one of those in such good shape is unheard of! Looking forward to seeing her all painted up.
You and me both!
Algorithm booster
A hell of a good cleaning, fix the important things, trans. Then tires, and barring ugly surprises, field ready.
Right on!
I grew up around everything Massey and our 1150 was my favorite. Happy to see you get one can't wait to see what you do with it!
Right on!
Extra hyd hose on the back might be a case drain hose for a White air planter ran off of tractor hyd system instead of a pto pump or something similar.
Another gem added to the collection . What a find .👍👍
Thanks 👍
JT, just as you say, What can I say ! A guy really gets lucky every once and awhile. Congratulations on the purchase.👍My favorite brand too. 👍👍👍✌🏻🇺🇸😎

I always say .
Better to be born lucky than born rich!
Bingo!!
Awesome find J.T, a 1150 and a 1155, you are living right !
Right on! Older and younger brother!
man that is one straight looking tractor JT you are one lucky bastard love it
Thanks!
Thank you for saving from scrap more people need to do this
Right on!
I my Lord I can’t believe it! It didn’t cross my mind when I first started watching this video, because your so far from me, but when you showed that hydraulic gauge it all came back to memory. That is my dad’s tractor that was stolen over 8 years ago. I had put the gauge on it because of some lift issues while I was working on it. It still has an open case on it even though the detective that was handling the case has retired. It would mean so much to the family to get it back to the farm and see it plow the old home place fields again. My dad bought it new when I was a kid and grew up with it so you can only imagine how surprised I was seeing it again. P.S. I’m just screwing with you. Awesome tractor.
Thanks, glad you were messing with me. 😆
Sorry I know I probably shouldn’t have, but that would be my Luke if I found a tractor like that. Enjoy your videos, you and diesel creek are the main ones I watch all the time. Im trying to get the whole editing thing figured out so I can post more. I’m fixing to get a 65 series Massey that’s L.P. Back running for a friend so he can sell it. Then brakes on my 240, hopefully I can post them.
Dude that is such an awesome find!!
Right on!
Great find JT, probably the best one yet 👍🏻
Thanks 👍
Spent some time Discing with an 1150 with FactoryCab no A/C and 90 degrees big fun. Never been so happy to see the 1370 fixed.
I smiled when she fired up for you, as if she was mine. Congrats on your find!
Thanks!
What a sweetheart! Great find, hard to find the V8’s period, never mind in a scrap yard!
Right on!! Luck has been on my side!
Great video friend thanks again you done amazingly well with the tractor specily when it's came from the scrap yard it's been your lucky year with all you have purchased 😊. Please keep the great videos coming friend from Scotland 😊
Thanks! Will do 😉
Couldn't be happier for you. But now I'm jealous. You got my dream tractor. Has to be a 2805 out there with your name on it. Thanks for sharing your time with us.
I’m hoping! I’ll find one someday
Ive got few 1150's forsale
How many more 1150's you want?
By far your best video ever you have inspired me my friend
Thank you very much! I appreciate that!
Congrats. Im shocked how straight the sheet metal is. You are going to have to invest in some additional shed space if you keep up the current pace of acquisition.
That’s for sure!
Good deal I'm really Happy for you the old girl looks and sounds good.
Thanks 👍
WOW! Unbelievable, lucky dog you! Congratulations!!! That tractor is lucky to have you to give it the love it deserves.
Thanks 👍
"Remember... I'm pullin' for ya... We're all in this together....". RG
That start-up was a bigger surprise than seeing Old Man Sedgwick trimming his toenails in church...!!!
😆😆. Right on!
JT, you have a good friend too find that tractor for you, and who was wanting to hall something on his trailer. Boy, that tractor just started right up, great find 👍
You got that right!
What a great gem of a tractor to find in a junkyard and it works perfectly?
So far, little stuff here and there but overall it’s useable
Awesome find ,happy things went so good for you
Thanks!
Congratulations that tractor is in very nice shape
Back a few years ago when scrap steel was high, farmers were hauling these tractors in left and right.
God damn! that thing started like it was shut off 5 minutes ago. what a find!
Right!!
Helpful hint: get a piece of round stock about 48" drill keeper holes in outside inch of both ends . Feed round stock through lower links of 3pt and chain lift arms to as low as you can get. Get another tractor to back up to dead tractor. Hook live tractor lower links together and pin lower links together. MF 1105 can lift legal better than 6k lbs. Turning tight might be a problem . But brute force works sometimes. Hauled an MF 1105 behind an MF 1135 some 20 miles on back roads to home this way. I felt i had good control. 😊
Right on! Thank you!
@@jtsbarnngrill6873 To quote Apu from THE SIMPSONS 'Thank You and use the idea in good health!' 👍
Love all your videos, especially the ones on the Massey's. And you have Chevy's!!! We are now best friends!!!!
😆😆
Really too bad you didn't find it before someone stripped all those parts off. Going to be a sweet tractor when your done. Awesome find! Thanks for the Vid.
Thank you!
Congrats on a great find. The Gods have smiled once again. Somewhere, the head of Massey-Ferguson is smiling and thinking another of his "children" has been saved. I truly enjoy your videos JT, please do keep them coming and keep on smiling. I only wish I could lead you to the grille pieces you need.
I appreciate that!
Just blew me away I was thinki g rear end was bad and someone didnt want the indertaking but Kudos to you. Just wow. That engine is priceless to begin with. Shaking my head Good Luck.
Thanks!
Love some Masseys ,,,I have a 150 and a 165 ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,That things a beast .....Engine looks big holy cow 8.3 liters takes 48 quarts of coolant 12 gallons I want one
They are cool!!
I love it ! What a great find ! I'm on the hunt for my grandpas old allis chalmers d12 to rebuild with my son still
Very cool!
Talk about landing a lucky ticket on the lottery! It might not be the jackpot in financial value but you hit the jackpot on the tractor being straight, starting right up, everything works, needing wheels which you have, home made "deluxe cab" and being bought for scrap money. HAPPY DAYS and feel good video!
Right on! Thanks!
Good for you JT. Happy for you.
Now you need that whole lineup!!!!
Well, you have a good start with the king of that series.
Cheers.
Bingo!
Lucky! 🍀
I noticed the lift arms were up when you checked the pto.
Yep. The extra line is plumber to them
Wow you got lucky on this one. Runs beautiful and seems like everything works. Should be a great restoration project
Thanks!
I thought I was lucky when I found 5 tires for $500 (normally $275 each), like also! But you got me beat, hands down! Nice find.
Love your 1105. Beautiful
Thank you!
That was amazing to see. Looking forward to the rest of this machines restoration.
Coming soon!
That cab looks neat on that tractor it ran good and wasn't even smoking from the breather!
Right!
I am 17 years old and I live on a 2 acre “farm“ we have about 45 chickens 3 pigs 4 emus 20 peacocks and 9 dogs but we don’t a good enough reason to have a tractor and that makes me sad but these videos make it better so thanks love the videos
Oh and that thing is a beauty
Thanks!
Man that engines great just basic service as I Massey man myself you can't beat Perkins power, good sheet metal ,may a little wiring ,seat, lights it want take alot to make a nice tractor, they are hard to find one that sounds that good with a total service and paint and decals it a keeper for sure best of luck to you on this one its a keeper for sure don't ever sell it,its a rare find
Right on!
Wow, you got a jewel! I had a chance to get a free 1155. It has some pretty expensive issues but man it doesn’t get any better than a V8 Massey! After watching this I may have to reconsider it. Keep up the good work. I really enjoy your show!
Thanks!
Awesome find. I know cabs are there for comfort but there is nothing like a big open station tractor. Once you get all the issues buttoned up and aesthetics sorted, that is going to be a sweet ride.
Right on!
God blessed you be sure to thank Him 🇺🇸👍
Every day!!!
Hey JT You took a hell of chance on that M-F 1150, & the pulled muscles, & sunburn paid off, I think this is your biggest, & best roll yet! Man what a pay off, & well deserved🍻!
Thank you! I appreciate that!!
Your wife must be a very supportive, understanding person.
She is the best!
Wow!!! Serious score there. Would be nice to know the back story on it why it was at the scrap yard. Looks like a little tinkering and some new paint and she will fit right in. I need to find some of your luck. Anyway, good luck with it and I think you have a winner.
Thanks!
That awesome! That thing fired right up😎👍
Oh yeah!
👍🏻👍🏻because one is never enough. Awesome find.
Right on!
