    Nice shooting. I like how you find your target quickly and let it go. I do watch other trad archery channels, but it seems many guys show their best shots and never seem to miss. Perhaps they are really good shots, or do they edit the bad ones out? I really like your videos, as they seem very realistic.

    You are so right Hyper Man! It's not how heavy a bow you can shoot or how long the draw length is! It's about arrow placement that matters!

    I do believe I would have to agree, I just want to know if the bow is worth the money or not.

      @HyperManHunting yeah mate I got a 58 amo...50lb@29" for hunting, but have great joy in shooting my 60amo 30lb for practice...I'll shoot many more arrows comfortably and more accurately for longer amount of time.

    I've been a member in several archery clubs over the years. Saw a lot of ego guys. Exactly as you said, they "overestimate" their draw length and poundage. And they always bought their arrows depending on this numbers. Needless to say their arrow flight was sooo bad. Archery is about precision. Want to pull really heavy weights? Go to the gym.

      yes I ask those guys how much can you bench press they say 350 lb and I say can you do it 75 times they say I say well when you shoot a bow thats what you need to do my friend 0n Monday just killed a 350 lb hog with a 30 lb recurve its on film I well talk about this week on video

    I have light to heavy bows and enjoy them all for different reasons. Light bows are just plain fun to shoot for winter and spring target shooting, then I switch to my heaviest bow to build strength in summer then drop back down to medium bow for hunting in fall. Works for me and I get to shoot a variety of bows, plus being a lefty, it's take what you can get.

    I honestly think its none of anyones business why others choose to discuss pulling higher weight, typical internet has too many people with too many opinions.

    Something I have learned about archery is the only way to get strong at archery, is to do archery.
    My draw is 29-30.5 so I test my bows to 30" to get past this issue
    There is definitely a macho element in play but the proof is in the group right?

    I think pulling heavy draw weight is more common for ego than bragging draw length. I bragged I could pull 100lbs but I only can shoot that weight 2-3 times and I'm done.

    • @HyperManArchery
      @HyperManArchery  Před 17 dny

      yes I had a 75 lb recurve at 27 years old it jacked up my body I would have ben a much better archer if I did not have a ego😪🤠🤠

    I think it's understandable if they're shooting 340 spine shafts with 350 grains up front

    I'll often clarify draw length and actual draw weight at full draw, in my archery vids. I cannot speak for others, but for myself there is no ego involved. Here's why I share that info. When I started in traditional archery, about five years ago, I had no idea where to start. What poundage bow, what arrow spine, what shaft length, what point weight, what AMO length, etc. And I'm 6'3" and have a draw length around 31-32". So, I started watching a lot of YT vids, mostly from the smaller channels that were not hustling anything, just guys with experience to share. For me, I was very interested in all that info about the archers DL and how it impacts choices in bow poundage, arrow spine, shaft length, etc. If I had the 28-inch DL, that everything is based on, life would have been much simpler in the early days. But I don't, so all those kinds of details were helpful to me. Now that I have a grasp of these things, I like to share that kind of info in my vids, hoping that maybe it will be helpful to another new archer out there, with a long-ish DL, in finding his way into this journey we call traditional archery. Anyhoo, I always enjoy your vids, thanks for sharing!

      yes I like you to I was talking a bout others you clearly have a long draw length and long arms like Tommy Hearns im thinking of people right in front of me shooting arrows that are 28 inches that say they shoot 32 inch draw I don't remember you saying anything about draw length in your videos . see you need to start making more videos with the bow like before you did great stuff or im sorry if I have not seen anything new that you made 🤠👍

  • @sprk11
    @sprk11 Před 28 dny

    well it does make a bit of a difference with draw length and that will affect the speed I might get from a bow at my draw length. What I can't figure out is how someone shooting the same draw weight as I do is shooting an arrow with a weeker spine than i do and a heavier head than myself at about the same length.

      it happens with fast bows and slow bows and medium bows I will never know im a week man my hunting is 20 lb I always change the number of the weight with a sharpie for some reason I feel like John homes right after and it feels great. 👍 thank brother💪🏋‍♂

    Yeah your right about all the macho stuff ... Who cares how heavy a bow someone can pull? There's one guy I watched who even said nothing impressed him except archers who can pull a really heavy bow ... Sounds a little queer to me! 🤔💥
    So far as the draw length goes ... You know about me and my injuries I'm 6'5" and only have a 26.5"-27" draw length and there is nothing I can do about it! But you should see the length of my ......... Hair!😂
    Yeah man taking your advice and shooting less arrows at a time. I just wish more archers were as cool and honest as you are. At least the guys I follow and interact with are all good down to earth genuinely nice people like yourself. Me at are very humble and willing to help you in any way they can ... I'm to old to deal with idiots in my life and in my hobbies!
    As always, love your videos, tips, humor, and material. God bless Red!
