Also, Ian has matured a lot since The Fake Sounds of Progress and has grown a lot more talented. Similarly, the guitarists have grown immense ammounts in terms of talents on their newest album. For example, just listen to the guitar parts in A Town Called Hypocrisy and how well they blend together and 4:AM Forever's solo at 2:53. The drumming has also become spectacular in terms of most modern rock bands. Hell, just listen to the opening to Everyday Combat.
Next stop Atrocity, For hes a jolly good felon, the dead, it's not the end of the world but I can see it from here, these streets of nowhere...I smell a hit album.
"On August 5, Kerrang! magazine published a "world exclusive" article on Lostprophets, revealing the new album title as The Betrayed, due for release in January 2010. The album will have ten tracks, including "It's Not the End of the World", "Atrocity", "For He's a Jolly Good Fellon", "If It Wasn't for Hate" and "Betrayed"."
Aw man I love this song. Cannot wait for the single and album. And a tour would be perfect! I was at that gig 19/04/07...way too long ago. Definitely time for a new one.
Albums are albums and at the end of the day bands want them to sound good. If they feel comfortable with releasing it 10 years from now, none of us have a say in it. They play new songs for reactions to see if its worth being added to the list.
it was actually suppose to be out in june of last year, now they said it suppose to come out around now, but it's been like two years in the making, so you can't really believe what you hear
Seriously. :-o Last I heard was an august release and/or definitely a single in august. This is such a bummer, can't wait anymore. They've pushed the release date so many times. It's been three years since Liberation Transmission.
GET IN THE CAR GET IN THE CAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Amazing tune glad they are back although I would never try to see them as they would be too DAMN loud for whoever goes with me to see them.
Dammit... Listening to this now im realizing how much i prefer the live pre-album versions to the studio versions of this, end of the world, and destroyer kinda... Man i wish they did a re recording of those... The songs on the betrayed are simply amazing but the production value is below decent at best... Well i guess the only thing to do is to get a mp3 of these youtube performences because they may never be played this way again unfortunately...
i'm sure you've probably heard this already, but the new album is supposed to have the bite of start something, mixed with the catchiness of LT and the attitude of FSOP.
well Lostprophets wana play what they want and this album is a mix of all 3 so its for every single Lostprophet fan as it includes 3 different types of material so stop slating there stuff and just accept it if you really like them
i love LP's old stuff more than the new, although i do like thier LT stuff. anyways, this already sounds like it's going to be one of my favourites. as soon as they are touring with this album im gonna be there!
well, i think it was mike, that said the new album will be out round the END of summer, in time for reading fest... so... the first single should be out, bout 3 weeks before? so... either july or august
Breakdown doesn't automatically equal metalcore, but yeah, I'll agree with you that those parts are awesome ^_^ And yeah, Ian's not really the screamer in the band, Jamie is and has been since the start. Should leave it that way, Ian's singing's amazing and Jamie's screaming compliments it perfectly :)
get in the car get in the car... im thinking this'll be their first single comin out in April, dont you? its just that good x) Funny that they said ages ago they would shorten the time between 3rd-4th album(compared to 2nd-3rd) but theres a huge gap of 3 years o_O
Compare this to the studio version. it shows how the drums really change the feel of the song. And really, that's my only complaint with the studio version of this song. They just need more Intense drums like on this live version.
@juledahl Sorry but... What is the post-hardcore you listen to? O.o Bands such as House Vs. Hurricane Or something by Drop Dead Gorgeous for example are far different from this
is the new album from lostprophets coming to america? because on itunes theirs barely anything for them but on the uk itunes you can pre-order it and everything. are htey leaving us!?!? :O
I think all of those are on there, except the dead which is really stupid cuz that is an awesome song. Maybe they just heard panic switch by silversun pickups, which pretty much has the same riff, and abandoned the song. Who knows, maybe it is on the album and their just not telling us.
It's the same guys trying something knew. Instead of sitting there complaining about how it doesn't sound like their old stuff, maybe you should actually listen to it. It may not be the old Lostprophets, but it's still Lostprophets. If the album had been like their previous works, they'd have gotten shit for just creating a "replica" of their older stuff.
I agree, Start Something was a great album. But if everyone wasn't so fucking narrow-minded, they would learn to appreciate Liberation Transmission as a very good modern rock album.

Ian has also been locked up and booty called by Big Bubba and Tyrone in the prison showers a lot too these days...
i'm listening to this over... and... over... and... over again
This concert was amazing!! And I'm going watching them again tonight. Can't wait!
This song is probably going to be on the album. There was a clip of them recording the back ups to this song in their studio postings.
Next stop Atrocity, For hes a jolly good felon, the dead, it's not the end of the world but I can see it from here, these streets of nowhere...I smell a hit album.
Haven't heard that since June, and it keeps getting better everytime i listen to it, must be on the album!

Luke johnson from Beat Union joined their band like a couple of days ago.
Some badass metalcore right there.
GET IN THE CAR, GET IN THE CAR!!!!
Oh lord, you're in the minority who believe that Liberation Transmission was by far their greatest album!
LONG LIV TEH EMONEZZ!

id say end of the world is structured almost identically to last train home... listen to the back to back n u'll see
Definitely brutal! :D

Dammit... Listening to this now im realizing how much i prefer the live pre-album versions to the studio versions of this, end of the world, and destroyer kinda... I completely argee
So apparently, this song is called "Next Stop Atrocity"... waaaaay better than anything on Liberation Transmission already.
lostprophets and blackout are realy close kinda like QOTSA and foo fighters.

Breakdown doesn't automatically equal metalcore, but yeah, I'll agree with you that those parts are awesome ^_^ And yeah, Ian's not really the screamer in the band, Jamie is and has been since the start. @juledahl
Sorry but... What is the post-hardcore you listen to? O.o
Bands such as House Vs. Hurricane Or something by Drop Dead Gorgeous for example are far different from this

Ya but now its definitely coming out in january so its all good
Get in the car!!!!!
It's not actually, it's called "It's not the end of the world, but I can see it from here" or so they've said.
WTF I was planning to have the album in my hands in a month, 4 year delayed, it's new release date is Jan 2010
I think all of those are on there, except the dead which is really stupid cuz that is an awesome song. Maybe they just heard panic switch by silversun pickups, which pretty much has the same riff, and abandoned the song. Who knows, maybe it is on the album and their just not telling us.
unfortunatly non of the songs they are playing at concerts are being on the album...shame as i love "for hes a jolly good fellon"
five years later i still think it's the best performance of the song
yeah but they basically scrapped the first album they made and did another one so it will be out in about june
which genre is this song?
i thin post-hardcore or maybe metalcore
which songs are like TFSOP? SS? LT?
I WAS THERE!
Didnt he say they couldnt put this on the album coz its got c**t innit?
where did they say that? watch channel 4 wnyt guys!!!
It's the same guys trying something knew. Instead of sitting there complaining about how it doesn't sound like their old stuff, maybe you should actually listen to it. It may not be the old Lostprophets, but it's still Lostprophets. If the album had been like their previous works, they'd have gotten shit for just creating a "replica" of their older stuff.
the post-hardcore is listen to is (old) enter shikari and a day to remember
and if this song is not post-hardcore

I agree, Start Something was a great album. But if everyone wasn't so fucking narrow-minded, they would learn to appreciate Liberation Transmission as a very good modern rock album.
