  • after building many 4g antennas id say ive come to an end for this series
the download speeds achieved could well be the maximum that i can achieve with the distance i am from the antenna.

The way to go is repurpose a satellite dish, exchange the LNB for a 4g LTE. Works a treat.

Nice video I have similar concerns.
I have had 2 yagi installed and have replaced them with an offset dish and a kroks antenna as illuminator.
I have the telephone tower at 6km in direct vision and it improves several dB.

You need to isolate the driven element ie the disk ur inner core coax connects to , indulate that from the metal threaded rod and test it with digital volt meter to make sure its not shorted to boom or any of the disks , as when its shorted to boom your vswr will be sky high and youll have huge inpedance mismatch .

leaves and branches will cut down the quality of the signal by a large margin, you would need to cut back
any vegetation near and around the antenna's fresnel zone, or get the antenna above any vegetation, you will get the best
signal with a clear line-of-sight with nothing blocking

ive noticed something watching the 4g gun videos your always connecting to different servers on speed test, you should pick the best one you got your tests off and keep picking it again when you change something with the antenna to see if it's helping or not, but you also need to look at your network strength settings in the router to ensure your improving signal strength and SNR signal to noise ratio.
also I think your discs on the 1800mhz antenna are too thick, and also the change in metals probably is greatly effecting it probably negativily, Andrew mcneil on youtube tends to always keep to brass which may be the best metal for an antenna, but i have no idea about that but I think the thickness of the metal may be the worst offender if it's effecting it negatively which I think it is.

i built this antenna it is really brilliant,
it made the signal strenght always 75% instead of 25% or 50% using normal router antenna, i am just wondering how can i improve more in the antenna so that i can get 100% signal strength
1- i used RG-6 coaxial cable "length isno exceeding 12 meters"
2- will two seperate disc antennas with separate cables to the router will help?
i have noticed from your videos you reached around 130 Mbps in the early videos "when you designed larger discs" then after coreecting the disc size you never got the same speed again ,, i am just wondering if you have explanation for it

using those bnc connectors introduces around 1.5db of loss for each one. also rg58 is the wrong impedance for that frequency. just saying wrong coax with an added 6db of loss aint helping.

    • @sNEAKYnIGHTmUPPET
      @sNEAKYnIGHTmUPPET Před 2 lety +1

@@jamesbrokentech well that all depends. You want to keep it as short as possible and avoid as many connections as possible. Like at the antenna you should solder the coax directly to antenna for one. Second I would find a way to move the transceiver closer to the antenna, like in a weatherproof box outside.
As far as the cable, what you’re using now is better suited for tv frequencies, maybe some ham radio, but certainly not efficient in the 2000-2500mhz. I think some LM316 is better suited, but look it up to be sure. Let me know if I can be anymore help. :)
