Yeah. I really only watched boaters perspective this season, but the shot from 1:10 and the next 2 shots after that, I can’t explain with words how hard it hit. It felt right, yet it felt so hard. Grians smile made it even more sad
Whenever I think about the way Bdubs ended his series I get so sad. He watched as the moon came crashing down, a smile on his face. Earlier in the episode, he called out to his friends, and he was alone. He was alone when the moon came crashing down, no one there with him.
This is just perfect, the way it describes the hermits POV is beyond crazy and beautiful Let's not forget when Grian asked Mumbo to highfive him and Mumbo did, but he ended up killing Grian, which means he lost his "Peace, love and plants" thing
I know Mumbo laughed and it was all a big bit that he did that, but can you imagine in-lore, escaping the end of the world with your best friend, only to accidentally kill him just as you escape? Do you think Mumbo would hold onto Grian's body, hoping if he brings it to their new world, he'll respawn? How long are they floating through the endless void, a man and his lifeless friend, praying that Impulse and Pearl and Scar made it okay, that they're waiting somewhere for the two of them, that there is *somewhere* to be waited for? I am in pain.

This is so amazing, I don't even know if I can describe how it makes me feel. They all look so afraid, but in different ways, from Bdubs putting on a brave face, Joe watching Cleo leave, Boatem falling together, the nature of the situation just strikes you in the gut. It's melancholic but beautiful

What of Bdubs, who watched the sky fall and wondered why he hadn’t run? What of Ren and Doc? Have they broken reality, and traversed to a place much worse than the world of fire they escaped from? Those who ran to space can only be there for so long… what will they do? And Boatem… how will they ever escape the Void’s starry claws? I guess we’ll know when the next chapter begins…
My little brother started watching Hermitcraft around the midway point of season 6 with Grian, and at the time I just saw it as well, just a little kid thing. He’s tell me things they’d do and I’d kinda pass it off. Around this year, this summer when Season 8 started and 3rd life, I needed some childhood like charm in my life so I decided to join him in watching Grian’s videos and getting excited for a new upload, each week. As season 8 went on, I branched out to Mumbo, Scar, Pearl, Impulse, then to Bdubs, Tango, Keralis, DocM77, and Geminitay, still working on watching the other hermit’s videos. And when this season end, it hit hard. My brother told me each season was around a year or so, so the new Minecraft world I was enveloping myself in got hit by the moon with everyone in a panic, and everything ending so soon, it well, hit hard! It’s changed the way I see things a bit, I’m a lot more focused on what he has to say, at least more than before, and after I watch one of their videos a bit of their personalities rub off on me. I know they’re not gone, they have their own videos and channels and a new Season coming up but still- Endings aren’t usually fun, and this video kinda captures that sense of, “Holy woah, a lot has happened and it’s all gone… what now?” I dunno it’s a nice :)!
Watch the past seasons! Pick a hermit and go for their playlist. This short season has really shown their story-telling and creativity/videography sides but the previous have amazing gameplay and shenanigans as well.
@@PixelM35 I suggest Season 6. Grian joined the group at that point and brought on a fresh slew of story and pranks. Not to mention the infamous Hermit Civil War that season. I started with Grian but branched out to all the Hermits eventually. It is very difficult for me to pick a favorite.

Theyd be seperated in a different world, kind of. Like at the start of the season they have to find each other first, not like the other start of the other seasons where theyre all together.
But they'll probably lose their memories right? *SPOILER WARNING* They are in the hermatrix right? So..... technicly when the're transferred to season 9 they'll just get their memories erased, BUT i would love if on the next season they had kind of a weird felling for the moon that they can't express why is that 😉
I honestly really hope so too, but there’s also rly good chance that Doc and Ren’s POVs actually happened and the hermits wake up in the Hermatrix ship thing, and they start the next season almost as normal as usual, I kinda hope that’s not the case though cause it would be a lot more interesting for the next season to start how you described xD

1:35 That is probably the coolest shot in the video! The line "Yes it's you i welcome death with.." fits so well in the scene!! The emotions of every character is so strong, i genuinely teared up a little bit on Mumbo and Grian part... This is probably one of the best Hermitcraft animatics video I've ever seen! Still i'm kinda sad that season 8 lasted so so short... But hey! On the bright side, i'm very much looking forward for season 9!! ( Oh and Merry Christmas eve to everyone that celebrates it)
I wonder if the hermits see these types of videos and think about how much the impact our lives. Like honestly their whole "world" crashed and even tho they made it funny it was still heart wrecking cuz they where scared. An amazing performance by all of them. RIP S8.

Beautiful absolutely beautiful depiction. Thank you. I didn't realise how sad the Swamp Girls' end is until I watch this. They've done so many projects together but at the end, they separated behind each other's backs (I know Stress is just absent but it feels like it adds to it). Joe and Cleo, Bdubs and Tango, the Boatem Crew are all hard hitting too. And you nailed the heroism between Ren and Doc. I've also been having a few tricky days at school and something about this is absolutely cathartic so thank you for that as well.
Bdubs's bird flying away as he puts on a brave face only to cut to his terrified video message for Tango is just a stab to the heart. I've had this song stuck in my head as soon as the season ended and was wondering if anyone was gonna use it for an animation. Welp, here we are, crying our eyes out
The fact that they actually did lore this season makes me so excited. The animatic was amazing, I kind of want to cry now but I also don't want to cry on Christmas so... I'll just sit here and think about this masterpiece.

This brought a tear to my eye. During the Hermit’s videos it was mostly played for fun and as a move to the next season but here it really feels like the end of the world. I feel for these people who are trying to escape the apocalypse. You did a Stellar job!

Hermitcraft is honestly one of the things that got me through the last couple of years. I'm so glad I got that notification from Grian's first Hermitcraft episode and fell headfirst into this fantastic community. I cannot express how grateful I am to be a fan of such a great group of creators, and I'm excited for many more years! Happy new year, everyone.
The Joe and Cleo scene is always heartbreaking to watch but I still have no idea why he didn't just go with her. It's not like he had anywhere else to go.
The IRL reason is because Joe is a loveable troll and poor communication. Joe knew Cleo was doing an animation of her own, and didn't realize she prepared to add him in if he wanted. So at the end of the circle he called out to Cleo to put her on the spot but decided to fly off because he didn't think he could be added into the animation at that point.
Okay, I thought, I hoped, (*sobs*) that I was ready…. (*muffled wail in pillow*) Those images… Joe’s heartbreak… friends abandoning (*sobs harder*) each other…. Tango so Brave and damnably determined to save everyone…. And then, that. Last. Image. (*Quietly falls apart *) I love this.💔

Wonderful animatic, this hit me with all the feels. My favorite was when the boatem crew were falling and trying to hold onto each other, Impulse and Mumbo are scared while Pearl, Scar, and Grian are glad to at least have each other. Can’t forget about Joe and Cleo ofc. Also Bdubs putting on a brave face and pretending everything is fine, then being more vulnerable with Tango with how stressed he is. Just *chefs kiss*
Even if its just an act, and it was done so comedically- the ending animation and this animatic still hit so hard. It hurts watching everything you love get taken away in an instant, in any form.
oh dear I'm crying. This right here is. Beautifully executed, it just depicts the last moments of the hermits so well... I genuinely screamed when I saw Bdubs trying to smile because his episode had loneliness and denial written all over it, but then it cut to Tango watching him, trying to save him one last time and failing... Yeah I think I cried out half my soul. Thank you for such an amazing piece of art.
I mostly watch Grian and Mumbo's POVs, but this is SO good, I feel so many emotions rn. So many. I'm going to go watch the rest of the Hermit POV's now :'). This is a masterpiece

This is really good. As Kegan Grimme so eloquently said, its melancholic but beautiful. It really helps you realize the gravity of the situation. The world is tearing itself apart. Everything we've worked on for the past six months is gone. Most, if not all of our friends are gone and we've got no way of knowing if they're safe or even alive. All we can do now is pray and get the hell outta here. You conveyed a lot of emotion in a short couple minutes and I commend you for it!! 👏
This was so amazing. Just the seeing the way that different hermits reacted, and how most of them eventually reached acceptance was so interesting, but the way this animatic illustrated that was simply incredible. amazing job!

Great animatic! Out of all the storylines Tangos hit the hardest for me. A failed attempt at saving the hermits by landing on the moon left him floating in space all alone. No one around to save him. Poor Tango ❤

this whole video has me in tears and screaming. i cant get over the scene of cubfan when it says were going out in style baby for some reason. it just suits what he did and how he does things so well. i could watch this seventy times and still be sad
I am so interested to see how they start season 9 after the way they all ended this season, I really hope they all start based off where they ended the season
I still sometimes come back to rewatch this. Season 8 finale was just so impactful. I know it took a lot of effort from them to make something so story-focused, but it really was great, and I actually watched *every single hermit* for the first time. I watched about the final 5+ videos of every hermit to see how they handled their buildup to, and attempt at evasion of the moon crash (or in Bdub's case, meeting it willingly head-on with a giant grin, which was just brilliantly unsettling). This song choice and the drawings fit just so perfectly to the chaos of emotions as everyone faces moon death. Definitely my favorite moment in all of Hermitcraft, and this video makes it sting even better.

I never even watched hermitcraft, just got updates from a friend who started watching it this season. And then I got increasingly frantic updates xD. I got more and more invested, and here I am. They did this to me xd.
I absolutely love how the boatems were shown. Impulse is trying to be brave and protect scar and pearl, and pearl is laughing and making the best out of a bad suituation. I also love you you can see mumbos and grians friendship through about 10 seconds. This video leterally made me cry and ive probably watched it about 10 times already.

I honestly really hope so too, but there’s also rly good chance that Doc and Ren’s POVs actually happened and the hermits wake up in the Hermatrix ship thing, and they start the next season almost as normal as usual, I kinda hope that’s not the case though cause it would be a lot more interesting for the next season to start how you described xD

1:35 That is probably the coolest shot in the video! The line "Yes it's you i welcome death with.." fits so well in the scene!! The emotions of every character is so strong, i genuinely teared up a little bit on Mumbo and Grian part... This is probably one of the best Hermitcraft animatics video I've ever seen!
Still i'm kinda sad that season 8 lasted so so short... But hey! On the bright side, i'm very much looking forward for season 9!! ( Oh and Merry Christmas eve to everyone that celebrates it)

I wonder if the hermits see these types of videos and think about how much the impact our lives. Like honestly their whole "world" crashed and even tho they made it funny it was still heart wrecking cuz they where scared. An amazing performance by all of them. RIP S8.

I didn't realise how sad the Swamp Girls' end is until I watch this. They've done so many projects together but at the end, they separated behind each other's backs (I know Stress is just absent but it feels like it adds to it).
Joe and Cleo, Bdubs and Tango, the Boatem Crew are all hard hitting too. And you nailed the heroism between Ren and Doc.
I've also been having a few tricky days at school and something about this is absolutely cathartic so thank you for that as well.

The fact that they actually did lore this season makes me so excited. The animatic was amazing, I kind of want to cry now but I also don't want to cry on Christmas so... I'll just sit here and think about this masterpiece.

This brought a tear to my eye. During the Hermit’s videos it was mostly played for fun and as a move to the next season but here it really feels like the end of the world. I feel for these people who are trying to escape the apocalypse. You did a Stellar job!

Hermitcraft is honestly one of the things that got me through the last couple of years. I'm so glad I got that notification from Grian's first Hermitcraft episode and fell headfirst into this fantastic community. I cannot express how grateful I am to be a fan of such a great group of creators, and I'm excited for many more years! Happy new year, everyone.

The Joe and Cleo scene is always heartbreaking to watch but I still have no idea why he didn't just go with her. It's not like he had anywhere else to go.
The IRL reason is because Joe is a loveable troll and poor communication. Joe knew Cleo was doing an animation of her own, and didn't realize she prepared to add him in if he wanted. So at the end of the circle he called out to Cleo to put her on the spot but decided to fly off because he didn't think he could be added into the animation at that point.
Okay, I thought, I hoped, (*sobs*) that I was ready…. (*muffled wail in pillow*)
Those images… Joe’s heartbreak… friends abandoning (*sobs harder*) each other…. Tango so Brave and damnably determined to save everyone…. And then, that. Last. Image.

Wonderful animatic, this hit me with all the feels. My favorite was when the boatem crew were falling and trying to hold onto each other, Impulse and Mumbo are scared while Pearl, Scar, and Grian are glad to at least have each other. Can’t forget about Joe and Cleo ofc. Also Bdubs putting on a brave face and pretending everything is fine, then being more vulnerable with Tango with how stressed he is. Just *chefs kiss*
Even if its just an act, and it was done so comedically- the ending animation and this animatic still hit so hard. It hurts watching everything you love get taken away in an instant, in any form.
This was more dramatic and emotional than the actual episodes

I genuinely screamed when I saw Bdubs trying to smile because his episode had loneliness and denial written all over it, but then it cut to Tango watching him, trying to save him one last time and failing... Yeah I think I cried out half my soul. Thank you for such an amazing piece of art.

This should have been the animation that played at the end of the season, genuinely pulled heart strings, and made me feel grief for something I wasnt even part of.
This is really good. As Kegan Grimme so eloquently said, its melancholic but beautiful. It really helps you realize the gravity of the situation. The world is tearing itself apart. Everything we've worked on for the past six months is gone. Most, if not all of our friends are gone and we've got no way of knowing if they're safe or even alive. All we can do now is pray and get the hell outta here. You conveyed a lot of emotion in a short couple minutes and I commend you for it!! 👏
This was so amazing. Just the seeing the way that different hermits reacted, and how most of them eventually reached acceptance was so interesting, but the way this animatic illustrated that was simply incredible. amazing job!

Great animatic! Out of all the storylines Tangos hit the hardest for me. A failed attempt at saving the hermits by landing on the moon left him floating in space all alone. No one around to save him. Poor Tango ❤

I still sometimes come back to rewatch this. Season 8 finale was just so impactful. I know it took a lot of effort from them to make something so story-focused, but it really was great, and I actually watched *every single hermit* for the first time. I watched about the final 5+ videos of every hermit to see how they handled their buildup to, and attempt at evasion of the moon crash (or in Bdub's case, meeting it willingly head-on with a giant grin, which was just brilliantly unsettling).
This song choice and the drawings fit just so perfectly to the chaos of emotions as everyone faces moon death. Definitely my favorite moment in all of Hermitcraft, and this video makes it sting even better.
I gotta say, Tango's ending hits hardest for me. He died trying to save his home.

I didn't think I'd cry at a season finale of a Minecraft smp but this season RUINED me.
I never even watched hermitcraft, just got updates from a friend who started watching it this season. And then I got increasingly frantic updates xD. I got more and more invested, and here I am. They did this to me xd.
