Delhi born Malayali here. All these snacks are my favourite. Delhites who want to try these snacks should visit a South Indian general store in Delhi. There are several of them in almost every area. They're healthy and affordable, and an easy substitute for your store-bought chips and snacks.
I ate all of the snacks in my hometown Odisha... My schooling was in catholic hostel and their our missionary sisters are from kerala (mostly) so I ate kathal n kappa ki sabji, we cooked also. I our school yard there is 2 trees of jackfruit, also kappas in the field... 😂Hum toh hostel jaate hi isliye थे ki khet me aur चूल्हे me kaam करे.... 🫠
As Maharashtrian even we make Jackfruit chips and dats a snack we have almost every day during jackfruit season... Yes in kokan you get jackfruit during Summers
10:18 There aren't any other achhappams 😂 but there are many other appams though I guess. Even though being a non- malayali I was waiting for kuzhalappam and unni appam! You should try those as well!
1:49 I have tried some type of Kerala bananas and I am guessing those are used to make the chips, but they are really good and better than regular bananas. It has different taste of its own, is orangish-yellowish in colour on inside as well and is really heavy and you'll easy be full by eating just one as it's huge as well. Everyone should try it once.
Yes it's so different. It's called Nendran Banana. It's exceptional. Kerala Banana Chips are different from other probably because of Nendran and Coconut oil .
The second snack has so many memories coz i had these every year during Christmas in Kolkata at my masi house, all of our cousins use to fight for this and now grew up and no party's are held 🥺
