- 27-year-old Diamondbacks rookie Tyler Gilbert threw a no-hitter in his first ever Major League start. Gilbert struck out 5 batters, walked Tommy Pham three times and totaled 102 pitches. Gilbert is the fourth pitcher in MLB history to throw a no-hitter in his first start. Bobo Holloman was the last rookie to accomplish this feat back in 1953. Gilbert joins Randy Johnson and Edwin Jackson as the only three Diamondbacks to throw a no-hitter. Gilbert is the first D-back to throw a no-no in front of a hometown crowd at Chase Field.

That’s gotta be one of the coolest things I’ve ever seen… His whole family was there to see it!
Incredible! Love it!
Congrats to him! Amazing performance and the defense, well played!
Nicely edited video in my opinion. What a special night for him, his fam and tje Dbacks organisation. We might just be watching a video in 10-15 years about how this night saved the organization and its fan base.
Why you love sports. First career start. Family in attendance. Terrible year for the team. Glad we had got something to cheer about last night. Go Dbacks!
I’m a Dodgers Fan but seriously MADD RESPECT 4 GILBERT & his POPS! If you dont tear up watching this your seriously not a DAD!
Can’t stand baseball, but this was exciting to see! EVERYONE there will be telling this story for the rest of their lives.
This stadium looks huge.
His old is this pitcher?
