    Quick question: after I static balance my new wheel i see that the wheel is not running true on the wheel arbor, but it is balanced perfectly. Do I install the wheel this way then dress the wheel round and pull off the machine to re balance?

    • @rhodesia1578
      @rhodesia1578 Před rokem +1

      Hi there .. yes you pre balance then fit the wheel hub assembly to the machine then dress till it is running perfectly true on its grinding face . Remove the hub assembly with the new wheel and rebalance as per the first balance . All wheel hub assembly’s must have periodic balancing throughout its lifespan . This will be determined while your are grinding you should detect it been out of balance by it’s performance as it’s grinding on the surface of what you are machining . Hope this helps .

    Hi,
    Would you be kind enough to explain how is it the weights get fixed on the flange just by tightening the bolt?
    I've been struggling with this video since I first watched it a month ago or so, as I would like to do the same for my bench grinder, and even for my minilathe's spindle.
    Have seen similar systems out there throughout this time. One of the systems is almost the same, but the flange is a dovetail, and the weights actually made of two pieces with a thread rigth in the middle of them. When placed inside the dovetail and the bolt is threaded on, it pushes and locks them against the dovetail.
    Another system has a hole on the flange to allow for a nut to enter on it, to wich a bolt can be threaded in the desired place (but where the hole is).
    So if you could shred some ligth on this, I'd really appreciate.
    Thanks,

    • @Bhagwansons
      @Bhagwansons  Před 6 lety

      Hello Eduardo Costa , the weights are single one piece they are not made of 2 pieces . There is a thread in middle of the weight to tighten the screw and perpendicular to the thread there is a bore (in middle of the the thread upwards) in which ball equivalent to the size of the bore is there which moves up and down by tightening or loosening the screw respectively , which helps in getting the weights fixed or removed .
      Hope it helped :)

      @@mykovrivera3716 Hello , Yes this grinding wheel is to be mounted on centerless grinding machine that doesn't have a mechanism for balancing the grinding wheel . 3 weights are optimal to balance the wheel . You may try with 4 weights . Also we would like to ask which country are you from ? Maybe we have our customer in that country to show you how it is balanced . Lasty not the least , please watch this video of how we mount and unmount the wheel for more clarity regarding mechanism czcams.com/video/nMid1hfQhbM/video.html

    Your'e the first one on youtube doing the right way...
    OK...here are some tips, to speed up the process a little you can stop the wheel by hand a little from rocking too much, when done rocking, mark exactly the top opposite side, [lighter side] where you mount a weight and never be moved again, the two other weights mount always the same distance from the permanent weight until balanced. Go dresse it and balance again on a new wheel....DANGER...a new wheel can be badly out of balance, if not balanced, a good idea is to just hit the on and off button and dress..not to go full speed until wheel dresses round. I wouldn't advise to dress without being balanced first on very large wheels.

      Konely King hello sir,would it be possible if you just first don't place yet the weights and let the wheel sway/rock by itself to determined which side is the heaviest. then that's the time to place the weights opposite to that area/side of which is heavy and make adjustments on those weights to minimize the swaying/rocking of the wheel

    I don't like balance anything like this top of bearing. If this axel running top of smooth steel bars there is much less friction. Now all bearing and ball inside perhaps twenty of them and four surface contact axel. It is much more contact surfaces than Axel lean only top of two bars. I also see good points of this method anyway :D

    why centerless?

    • @Bhagwansons
      @Bhagwansons  Před 9 lety +1

      Johnny Benson Thank-you for you query . Centerless grinder is a grinder for production of cylindrical work in which centers are replaced by a work-supporting member and two abrasive wheels one of which grinds work while the other regulates the speed of its rotation . It is cheaper than "on center" grinding and much faster.
