Matthew 5:3-12

1. Blessed are the poor in spirit, the meek, the merciful, the pure in heart, the peacemakers, those who mourn, those who thirst for righteousness, and those who are persecuted for righteousness' sake. (5:3-10)
2. Take heart when persecution comes your way, for if you preach the truth in love, you are persecuted for righteousness' sake.
3. If evil is being spoken against you falsely on Jesus' account, you are Blessed. Because of this, your reward is great in heaven.
4. The Godly men and prophets before you were persecuted because they followed God. You are not alone.
