Tive o privilégio de ir a todos os shows da Legião em Belo Horizonte. O último em 1994, havia sido adiado devido a doença do Renato. Então, o público pode escolher, devolução dos tickets, ou aguardar novo show em outra data. A maioria das pessoas pediu a devolução. No entanto a namorada e eu aguardamos. Quando houve então, o público foi muito pequeno, e ficamos tão próximos do palco que pudemos observar detalhes da banda. Memorável...

Tempo Perdido is a song from the second album of Legião Urbana, from 1986. The band released a total of 8 albums, the last one on 1996, right before the singer's death, at the age of 36. Renato Russo also had a short solo career, when he chose to sing in other languages not to confuse with his parallel work with the band. So he released The Stonewall Celebration Concert, all sang in engligh and Equilibrio Distante, in italian. He lived for 2 years, as a child in the USA, so he had a very good accent. And, as an italian descendant, sing in italian was a natural choice too. At the time, he said that he wanted to record the songs that he liked to sing personally, that were emotionally significant to him, and that had nothing to do to his work as a rock composer and singer. As a big fan, I'm very glad to know that nowadays Legião Urbana's songs and Renato Russo's voice is spreading throughout the world and getting noticed from people like you.

Legião Urbana has a LOT of good songs, but I think it would like way better if you were understanding the lyrics, that is very deep, so if you would react to them again I recommend that you look for a video with English lyrics. Let me tell a little bit about Renato Russo, the singer and band leader: his most important contribution to music is problably his lyrics, full of self criticism, social themes and the contradictions of loving souls.
When the band debuted in early 80's, most of all other bands were in aw, as if they had suddenly been left behind as amateurs, although many of them were good and had their share of audience. To the audience they were a cool band with sometimes difficult lyrics to understand, memorize and sing along. I risk to say they are one of the best Brazilian rock bands of all times. Renato died decades ago, and new generations sing legião 's songs naturally for they are timeless.
The most iconic, known and special band in Brazil. Renato Russo is dead, but he is a myth. An unique composer/ second to none. Even nowadays, when some Legião urbana song plays in some party, people of all ages sing with their soul. Some songs are like a hymn. I don't think there will ever be anyone to mark how Renato Russo marked generations with his lyrics and songs.
Like it or not, this is the biggest Brazilian band of all time. Excellent lyrics, musicality, which have marked our country.

He was so sensitive and smart and visceral as you just sad.It´s incredible how you felt him so well and it´s amazing. You should listen to them more, all the albuns and translate the lirycs cos they are so beautiful.
By the time of this recording, the singer was passing by a Flu... I was a huge fan. Today I´m 40 and I used to listen Legião a lot by the time I was a teen and young adult... Listen to same music from another recording... I think you will enjoy a lot! Big hug!!
