- This video shows a fix to a fuzzed/scrambled display in the navigation screen unit. I cannot tell what the cause of it is, but thanks to a combination of web forum's info and youtube videos, I was able to fix the problem. Unfortunately when doing the video and fixing the unit I skipped recording the inside part of the unit without noticing it. As simple as it was all I did was push and wiggle the ribbons cables since I couldn’t remove them from their base. Luckily the unit is working again… Thanks for watching!!
I took the top off of mine then plugged it back into the car so that I could check if my ribbon cables were the cause of my display failure, was just like this one, completely illegible. Lightly touching the ribbon brought the display back instantly. I took it out again and carefully removed the two ribbon cables, applied a little contact cleaner and refitted them. There are no locking tabs as they are press fit into the connectors. All working properly again now, thanks for the useful video.
Nice, this fixed the problem for me too. The ribbon cable did not feel loose at all, but pressing down on it to ensure contact did the trick.
That is almost what happened to me.. glad it helped.
You don’t show how you fix the ribbon cable ??????????
I just did this and it worked!! thank you so much !! it also apperared someone had open it up and not put it back together corectly
This was helpful also i had a problem that amplifire sound was also switched off and on which fixed also when i pushed the cable
Thank you man! I have the same problem...but only when its cold outside.
It works, thanks a lot
Funny video. But it helps if you watch 20 times. 😀
They are 4 x Torx T3 screws if anyone's wondering.
Great video thanks! I followed it and went great! Except when I put it back in the car I don’t get image and buttons don’t work. Just radio sound. Any ideia what’s wrong? Really appreciate your help. Thanks!
What happen when you open it we didn't understand anything from you
What did you fix, you tool the top cover off and quickly your putting it back in
Well done borat
Torx? Incomplete how to.
You didn't say what you did inside???
Well Johnny after removing the top cover (min 5:21 to 5:26 of video) I just pushed the brown flat ribbon cable down, it did not feel like it was loosed but it did the job. I though I had the phone camera on but is wasn't.
Cool thanks I'll try that.

I did the same and it worked... for 3 days... then the fuzziness returned!
I guess I have a bad connection on the ribbon cable. :-(
Couldn't remove the cables? just lift up on the white tab locking in the cables. duh
