6k subs? yah nah... I'll comment again at 600k. So underrated.
lolll thanks for the compliment! we will get there 💪
@@Dai.Natreacts doubled the sub count in 6 months congrats
When frodo and Sam look like a rock it’s because the cloaks the elves gave them are magic - the gifts they got from the elves help them a few times in the trilogy
oooooooohhhh okay thank you for that lol cause we were wondering
Those boats, those cloaks, the clasps or brooches in the shape of leaves, the Lembas bread, those gifts make much of the story work.
Those "pause" edits got me dying
Charlie Murphy chiming in saying *wrong* whenever they get something incorrect about the movie is hilarious. 😂😂😂
😂😂 don’t realize what you say until you look back at it
@@MarsVee123lmaoo man we be wrong ALL the time 😂
IKR!! 😂😂
@@afrodemon8629 lol yea that was crazy !
bro the smeagol freestyling bit had me CACKLING, excited for part 2
😂😂 can’t lie we watched that part over like 20 times 😂
The Three Runners [Aragorn, Gimli, Legolas] cover approximately 135 miles in 3 days. This equates to basically a full Marathon, three days in a row. In the text, Eomer comments on this feat as being worthy of song in its own right, but the war kinda prevented such celebration
Eomer being impressed with them - even naming Aragorn "Wingfoot" - is actually one of my favorite passages from the second book:
"Wide wonder came into Éomer's eyes. 'Strider is too poor a name, son of Arathorn,' he said. 'Wingfoot I name you. This deed of the three friends should be sung in many a hall. Forty leagues and five you have measured ere the fourth day is ended! Hardy is the race of Elendil!"
It's actually FIVE marathons in 3 days; 26 miles times 5 is 130, and that is absolutely INSANE...
Well then so did all the orks while carrying Merry and Pippin as well.
@@raifthemad Sure. And if you want to sing songs of the enemy, you go for it
The way Legolas mounts that horse when the Warg riders are attacking is SEARED into my memory. I thought it was THE COOLEST thing ever when I saw this as a kid, and I still feel that way now 20+ years later. Can't wait for part 2!!
it really was awesome!!
Honestly I've always hated it and never understood how people can watch it and say oh that's cool... Like, sure if Gimli wasn't there he could "maybe" physically do it, but just cos he's an elf doesn't mean he can phase through solid matter, lol. If I had to chose one scene that made my brain hurt, that would be one i'd consider, lol.
Dude in the theater there was this big collective gasp there! I remember it!
Scenes we'd like to see: Orlando Bloom as Legolas learning how to mount a galloping horse!
"Hello. My name is Legolas Greenleaf and the laws of physics are optional for me!" Lol
"Is she a part of it?"
"WRONG."
That had me dying. The memes you edit in are fking hilarious, it makes the reactions you have even funnier/more engaging.
Can't wait to see the reaction you have to the rest of the movies.
Thank you so much for the support!! We are hype you’re enjoying it ! 😂
Yes, the self deprecating humor is a lot of fun!
That's what I can here to say! Probably the most entertaining channel right now for edits in my opinion. Extremely engaging
Bruh I was dying at Sméagol rapping. Top tier editing hahaha
😂😂😂 thank you!
"This is some deep s...". 😀I think that in this very original and unconventional way you confirmed what millions of fans (including me) of Tolkien around the world have known for a long time. That the depth of this story and this world is much greater than it seems.
Its unclear how long Théoden had been under Wormtongue's spell - but it was probably years, and a gradual process. The people of Rohan had grown used to it - a fast change would have tipped them off.
I always believe that Frodo wants to believe that Smeagol can "come back" as he says... from being completely enslaved to the Ring... as Frodo wants to believe that he himself can keep from losing his own mind... If Smeagol can be "saved" then so can he... as I see it he fears himself going insane... becoming lost to the ring... the closer the get to Mt Doom the heavier the burden of the ring is and the more it puts a strain on him... So he wants to believe that Smeagol can be... and is "good". I think because Hobbits are essentially such simple folk... and really caring loving people... they aren't full of greed and desire... lusts and things like "normal" folk and humans... therefore I think they resist the temptations of the ring better than most others would... even dwarves fall victim I think to greed... malice and hate. Those are the things that Sauron put into the ring when it was forged...
Ah yes, the old ''I can change him'' haha.
Yes, dwarves are hardier and more resistant (this is partly because they are in essence very different to the other races of the world being basically Aule’s creation rather than Eru’s, and not being part of the original creation) but they still succumb to extreme greed and avarice, searching for more and more treasures under the earth, rather than being enslaved or controlled directly by the rings per se. This is what indirectly destroyed them (digging too deep in Moria, accumulating too large a hoard in Erebor and attracting Smaug).
When you guys thought Frodo and Sam might be fake sleeping to trick Gollum it hit me how difficult it would be to actually fake sleep without actually falling asleep. They’d be sooooo exhausted, so, good on them haha!
lol right we would have actually really fell asleep and gotten then ring stolen 😂
You've never been so exhausted that you weren't able to sleep?
@@michaelhoward142 I have been. I’ve not been after hiking through miles and miles of unknown, razor sharp rocks, with the constant threat of attack from literal monsters. But hey, maybe you have 😜
There are multiple, conflicting accounts on how orcs came to be. The two main ones (both invented by Tolkien) were that they were created via dark magic from the bowels of the earth OR they were tortured/corrupted elves. He didn't like EITHER of these ideas and had a really hard time working out what he wanted to do with them. He didn't like the first option because he believed evil cannot create, only destroy, so the idea that "evil magic" was capable of creating life was uncomfortable for him. However, he didn't like the second option either because that would mean orcs were sympathetic. As corrupted elves, it would mean that it wasn't their fault they were the way they were, which brings up a lot of moral questions with how they were treated by the "heroic" races of middle earth.
Peter Jackson addressed this by Saruman implying that normal orcs were "elves once" but the super-roided out Uruk-hai were created by dark magic from bowels of the earth.
Hope this helped.
thank you for this!!!
Yeah, having the Uruk-Hai made in the ground is a lot less horrific than the way they are described in the books, as Orcs half bred with humans. The thought of that is extraordinarily evil.
My personal opinion on the orcs is that the original elf/orcs were likely long dead but their offspring have been breeding for thousands and thousands of years and are now their own thing far removed from their elf/orc ancestors.
Yeah its one of those iffy things that really puts Tolkein's works in a tight spot. The idea of an inherently evil race of intelligent beings has unfortunate implications. It's basically the same fundamental principle of irl racism, that certain races of people are just lesser, and have hard limits on their potential/capacity for more, and that justifies anything done to them. It's simply one of the main shortcomings of the story on a thematic level. The fact that JRR "Has a Lore Answer for Everything" Tolkein couldn't square this circle on this particular point shows that it's just sorta baked into the entire thing from the ground up which is a shame. You wind up with a detailed, beautiful world, with this ugly implied bit of "some races are just evil, idk" hanging in the air.
Tolkien never really said... but he did say the evil guys cant create life... only corrupt and ruin other life.
Im pretty sure they fuck just like us😅
Not only is Aragorn blessed with long life because he's a Dunedain, but Dunedain are descended from Elronds twin brother Elros who chose to be a man unlike Elrond who chose to be an elf. Basically Elrond is Aragorn's great great great etc. uncle, which means Arwen and Aragorn are cousins MANY times removed. xD
I mean, at that point it's irrelevant, thankfully.
This movie was filmed in New Zealand and they were released in 2001, 2002 and 2003, but they started filming long before that. The whole project took about 8 years to make and it took twice as long on and off to write the books. I have the movies and the books.
Holy shit, free-style Gollum was the most unexpected thing I've seen in a long while.
dawg that "this is a sick negro" just had me weak AF!! 😂😂😂😂😂
Always great to see new lotr fans being born. Great video, welcome to the family!
lol we are happy to be here! Definitely enjoying it!!
Your edits are killing me 😂 Thanks for the reaction, I was looking forward to it and I'm waiting for the second part! You kids are so darn cute.
sooooo glad you are enjoying our reactions! thank you!
(This guy’s comment is so beautiful) Now you're beginning to understand why the trilogy really IS among the greatest films of all time. Everything in these films works together to make it worth seeing over and over again. It works together because they the only trilogy to be greenlit as a trilogy. Other trilogies have one movie greenlit first and then the others greenlit afterward.
It was insanity that someone was convinced to approve of three movies to be filmed back to back, with 3 years of pre-production and only after 3 years did filming start.
(Two comments I found and put them together to form a very powerful statement. It’s truly a very special film! So much work went into this. I know many will vote “yes” to react to the behind the scenes film+documentary the cast and crew created together. Which in itself is a beautiful ride to embark upon. I have links when the time comes!)
The translation "HES WORKING FOR SARUMAN" had my pasty colorless ass ROLLING.

Fun tidbit: Because Orcs were once elves, they kept their skill in medicine. All these horribly mangled, metal-skulled war survivor orcs? That's because of Orcish medicine, a corrupted twisted version of elvish medicine, which could cure being wraithed-over, as shown in frodo surviving a morgul blade.
oooooooh thanks!!
Aragorn, legolas, gimli chased after the uruk-hai for 4 days hardly stopping.. when they meet the riders of rohan they had travelled 217km or 155miles ... a legendary effort to try and save their friends
Just so y’all know, the guy who voiced and acted as Gollum also, was Caesar from the planet of the apes
For the whole Gandalf coming back:
Think of the Wizards in Lord of the Rings as Angels, sent by their God(s) to help protect/aid the people of Middle-Earth against Sauron, their worlds version of The Devil.
Sarumon (The evil-looking Wizard) was basically a High-Ranking Angel that became a Fallen Angel after finding out about The Ring and what it could do for him.
After Gandalf died killing The Balrog (that Fire-Demon), his spirit went back to Heaven, but his God(s) had him sent back, made him a Higher-Ranked Angel, and gave him a boost in power to replace Sarumon.
nicely explained!! thank you!!
Plus Gandalf can only use his powers in dire need or against him equal for example Balrog. His task was to give middle earth hope and guide them.
Not many people know this but when Aragorn kicked that helmet...😅😅😅
yesss someone told us he actually broke his toe!!!
The brief LOTR wizard lore. They look human, but are celestial beings (maiar) in human form. Each color (5 of them) serving a different role in middle earth. When Gandalf died he “got a promotion” and was sent back
It’s also funny that edited in Chucky at one point. Grima Wormtongue, the dude with the black hair was helping to control Theoden, is played by Brad Dourif who is the voice of Chucky.
You know we need that part 2 soon ❤
soon come! soon come!
Thats cool you picked out that that was indeed an extended scene where you find out how old aragorn is... he is a special race of men: (short version) his ancestors were the only men that didnt fall under sway of basically the devil in the start of tolkiens lore... where good gods and and an evil god fought for control of the world.
And the good gods won then gapped off to the place where only the elves are allowed to go but they gave the good men a gift of longer lifespan.
Yeah thats the short version😅😅
Very good. I often use the analogy of the legend of Atlantis to explain what Númenor was. Then say, Aragorn descended from those people, and then they kind of understand his uniqueness.
17:24 : "My boy he fly now, he got a haircut!" had me rolling. Great reactions guys!
There was actually some pre-release controversy over this one as some of the film makers felt it would be insensitive for the title to be The Two Towers so soon after the 9/11 attacks. They ultimately went with it.
ohhh right wow !
Yeah, i recall telling a friend in 2001 that I was glad TT was a year off, as they might have delayed it out of (appropriate) respect for the victims of 9/11. I mean, it woulda been understandable if it debuted just a couple of months after the attack, but woulda also been kinda silly if they'd delapyed it. Anyhow, glad the schedule worked out!
When they found the pile of burnt Orcs in the beginning,Aragon kicked a helmet and yelled. The yell was made more real because he broke his toe!
One of the many fun facts lol.
oh sh-t!! lol going to watch that part again just cause we know now
The way you reacted to Legolas mounting the horse, the amazement brought me back to that day in the cinema and how we all (even those around me) reacted the same way. It's the reason I clicked this link and I wasn't disappointed. Have fun guys! Can't wait for Part 2!
Love your comment! It’s all true. ❤ we all felt this!
That snarky comment on Eowyn trying to smooth talk Aragorn was amazing…
“That’s where my girl’s from; not interested in you hoe”
I had to pause for that one, had me cackling😂
I know you did not put gollum over the grindin' beat 😂 y'all are hilarious, this is a dope reaction. Keep it up y'all, can't wait for the rest of the series!
At 27:00, you say, "Let us know in the comments how long this process took--was this years, or did this happen in weeks?" Not sure what you mean by "process"--and the plot of the movie departs significantly in this area from Tolkien's book. Also, while much of the action in the book goes slower than the movie, this is one section where the book actually moves faster than the movie. Tolkien's version glosses over Theodred's burial, and I love the movie version, especially Eowyn singing Theodred's lament in Anglo-Saxon. But in the book, the war with Saruman's forces had already started, and Gandalf's healing of Theoden allowed the king to join his forces in the field. The war was going badly, and Theoden's household forces retreated to Helm's Deep. The people didn't go to Helm's Deep, but rather to Dunharrow (you'll see more of Dunharrow in ROTK). Tolkien gives a detailed chronology in an Appendix at the end of ROTK, and according to this, Gandalf heals Theoden on March 2 and the Battle of Helm's Deep occurs the night of March 3-4. So things were moving right along. The movie version uses a somewhat different time line that isn't completely congruent with the book--"at first light on the fifth day" would have been well after the book's battle was over.
thank you for the info ❤
And another thing in the timeline in the book, in The Fellowship of the Ring, when Gandalf goes away for “questions that need answering” and comes back with info about the One Ring, 17years passed. Frodo was 33 when Gandalf left, 50 when Gandalf returned (but Frodo aging less because he had the ring). Frodo was physically in his prime during his quest (not 19ish years old, like the actor)
The Rohan are inspired by anglosaxon knights. But they have a very nordic like feel to them. Their musical theme is played on a Hardanger fiddle. A norwegian instrument. In general they have a very "civilized vikings on horseback" kind of feel. Gondor by contrast has a very Mediterranean italian like feel them. Like romans and greeks. Building things out of marble and generally having a very civilized and sophisticated feel.
Aragorn's crazy stamina. Hes a "Numenorian", they are like the first men .. there are few left and they are basically superhuman, live twice as long, stuff like that. This is also why he can fight 100 orcs :)
I'm a 39 year old spinster who never fell for anyone but watching y'all make each other laugh makes me believe in love again. 🖤
Fun Lore Fact: Aragorn is 87 years old, but looks younger because his lineage is descended from a half elf. Hugo Weaving’s character, Elrond is a half elf and had a brother, Elros. They were given the choice to either side with their elf half or human half. Elrond went the immortal Elves and Elros chose to live as a mortal human. He then became King of the race of men and because of their elf heritage, all his descendants live for hundreds of years.
That also makes his love interest, Arwen, his very distant cousin.
oh woow
In the books, Grima Wormtongue was given some of Sarumans powers of speech and persuasion. You can see in the scene with Eowyn as he tries to persuade her and she says "your words are poison". That's how he manages to poison the mind of the king.
Okay - my new favorite people. Hilarious, awesome commentary AND a Sonic Youth t-shirt.
idk if someone already said it but, 17 years passed from when Gandalf left to research the ring (after Bilbos party) to when he came back to test if the ring was the One Ring. then from when Frodo & Sam left the Shire to when they returned at the end, it was about 1.5 years. So from beggining of the trilogy to the end, about 19 years.
The Golum rapping edit 😂😂😂💪🏾
14:54 : Yes, an old battlefield - the very first epic battle you see in the first film where Isildur cuts the ring from the hand of Sauron. It was the final battle of the War of the Last Alliance, three thousand years before the time of this movie.
18:25 LMAO "Galdalf probably got some White AIrforce ones" that was comedy gold

"Three days and nights pursuit." Aragorn, Gimli and Legolas traveled 45 leagues which comes to 135 miles in 72 hours nonstop on foot
Great reactions. I watch these films a few times every year, usually with reactors.
Dai, you got the best commentary man. Lovin it.
..and keep putting in the memes. Ya'll crackin me up. Smeagle/Gollum rappin lol. For reals tho, there's a bunch of Gollum songs for comedy online but seriously he has a legit song dedicated to him in the movies. czcams.com/video/zkXbzffVl44/video.html
Man we are so glad you’re enjoying these, we had mad fun editing these for you guys!! I’ll check out the gollum songs now lol
Yall real quick just you watch!!! Reactions are so funny! Look forward to yall faces and gifs! 🤣
In general frodo trusts gollum because he recognises alot of himself in him (because of the ring) And he tries to turn him back over, or he fears he would become like him
Your edits are gold. Definitely subbed.
I always watch the extended version. But for new viewers unfamiliar with the movies or the books maybe the theatrical cuts are better to get introduced to the movies. Extended has more backstories and lore and are great! But the extended also are slower and longer because of it. Theatrical was edited to keep pacing and everyone engaged with the movie - a great introduction. You can always watch the extended after to get even more story and goodness after you’ve been hooked into them.
I’d give that advice only if they ain’t a reaction channel. If you’re a reactor, you might as well go big or go home since we as viewers only got one chance at watching them react to this for the first time.
@@rickyderby Lol I agree. I watch the extended and love them. But I've watched reactors get lost and bored with the pacing of the extended. A channel was introducing his family (Father, mother and sister) to the movies and the mother and sister started doing other things (phone, kitchen e.g.) instead of watching. Another first time reactor didn't like "The Fellowship" saying it was too long and too slow and she was confused by all the lore. She never watched the rest of the series either. That reaction was so hard and disappointing to watch.
Guess I've just become worried of people watching the extended. I really want everyone to like the trilogy. 12+ hours is a lot to ask but always fingers 🤞 everyone gets to see them. Watching at home in comfort makes it easier.
“He rode that demon to the abyss”

yalls editing with the funny edits is on point. especially that ending one lol
Sméagol was flowing on that clipse instrumental 😂😂😂
Aragorn is a descendant of the Numenoreans, and they are descended from the lineage of Beren (a man) and Luthien (elf-kind). The result was a race of men who, while not being immortal (like the elves) lived for hundreds of years (as much as 300-400). Aragorn’s line was less pure or the half-elven blood and still, he lived to be over 200 years old.

Best Reactors on CZcams. And the Edits are hilarious ♥️
Also the part where aragorn kicks the helmet when he thinks Merry and Pip were killed in the raid. He actually broke his foot when he kicked the helmet and that yell is a genuine reaction to the pain. He had to get a cast and was on crutches!
Hehe in the theater during the part where grima hits on eowyn , the audience was so silent but my grandmother friend, a man named Tom, said loudly " oh. I dont like this guy!!!" And then we laughed lol 😂
They got Gandalf to sound like Saruman when the three hunters found him by having the actors for Gandalf and Saruman make each others voices and put them together
Oh my gods YES! i wasnt expecting it so quickly! Im so excited for this!
hope you like it!
Aragorn is a numenorian, a subrace of humans, they can live a few centuries and Aragorn's lineage has elven blood which allows him to live several centuries in the story :)
The ‘rock’ when they were hiding was actually an eleven cape, it basically mirrors its surroundings making them invisible
Great reation i can't wait for the other part on CZcams very excited for that

9:00 Imagine having an obviously senile old man at the head of your lands, while wicked worm-tongues ran the whole show in his name. That would be terrifying.
In the books, there is no suggestion that orcs come out of the ground. The ancestors of orcs were elves that was captured an tortured and corrupted by magic, but orcs are made and born like other mortal creatures.
In the films they changed this. The reason is a bit convoluted, but there is a big time gap in the film's story line compared to the books.
In the books, there is almost twenty years in between Bilbo's birthday party, and the time Gandalf returns to tell Frodo about the ring. This is how long it took Gandalf to find out that this was in fact the "One ring" During all that time, Frodo lived in Bilbo's old house as the wealthiest Hobbit in the Shire. Sam was his employee, his gardener. Since the ring was in Frodo's possession, he didn't age normally but stayed young, but he is in fact about 40 years old. Sam, Merry and Pippin are about 20, like in the films.
In the Films, they compressed this time to a year or so, to make it work better on film. They could cut away a number of events and more importantly, the relationship between Frodo and Sam becomes more of friendship (lovers?) than the master/servant-dynamic that JRR Tolkien wrote it.
The main problem with this, is how could Saruman have gathered a huge army of orcs in just one year instead of twenty?
So they made this thing up where Saruman grows the Uruk-hai orcs through some kind of magic and they come to life fully grown.
This movie has so many memes and songs
Taking the hobbits to isengard, boil em mashem stickem in the stew, and now Gangsta Smeagol!

Bilbo's 111 Birthday was 22 September TA 3001.
Frodo left the shire on 23 September TA 3018.
The Fellowship was broken on 26 February TA 3019.
The battle of the Hornberg (Helms Deep) was on 3-4 March TA 3019.
The destruction of the ring was March 25 TA 3019.
The Last Ship sailed for Valinor sometime in TA 3021 (or the equivalent. Sources differ on the start of the fourth age)
All together that's about 20 years.
Aragorn’s great great great… grandfather was Elrond’s twin brother. Elros was an elf that chose the mortal life.
Gandalf and the Balrog are the same creature. Both are a Maia - a low level angel in Tolkien's Legendarium. This is why an old man (the from he travels in) can stand toe to toe with a lava and shadow demon. I'm reading the book now and I'm a little over 1/2 way through. The movies are amazing but the book is incredible. The author was making up this world since he was a kid and this story is just the tip of the iceberg from the universe he created.
I love the way you edit different movie clips into your videos, thats exactly how my brain be working in real time haha.
I expect others have already mentioned this, but Tolkien fought at the Battle of the Somme during World War One. He would have had terribly visceral personal experience of wading through 'dead marshes', where the war-ravaged land had been bludgeoned into bog by shells and mortar and the muddy water all around was filled with dead bodies. John Garth wrote a very good book about this, Tolkien and the Great War.
Another point: as a young man in 1914-1918, Tolkien would have been among the first swept up in a war which was also fought in the air. Aeroplanes were novel toys in the war-toy-box in the early 20th century. The 'Wraiths on wings' perhaps convey some of the terror that was felt, knowing that death could quite literally drop down on you from above and you were powerless to avert it.
And a third point: it bothers me how the filmmakers made a pretty substantial error with regards to 'the Eye of Sauron'. The Eye was never some disembodied neon-sign flicking this way or that. Sauron had a body at this point in the story. The Eye is his mark, just like Saruman marks 'his' Orcs with a white hand. It is a symbol of his aspiration to be 'all-seeing'. He spies and manipulates and inveigles his way into hearts and minds; his "will to dominate all life" is actually comparable to the Matrix or the panopticon, and the 'Eye' is a nightmarish image of surveillance.
loved the reaction, as always :)
Thank you!! 😁

From the beginning of the movie and the birthday party to the end of the movie 17 years have passed I believe, but from the moment Frodo and Sam started the journey till the end 1 year has passed.
17 years was simply for Gandalf to return to the Shire after the party and Frodo’s journey beginning fully!
@@Makkaru112 Yes, 16 year took Gandalf to find if the Bilbos ring is the One ring. Aragorn and him were looking for Gollum for 3 or 6 years, can't remember, read it last time years ago.
Great reaction. I always get a kick out of first time movie watchers becoming fans of this trilogy. Subscribing.
