What if Dooku FOUGHT Palpatine? Star Wars Fantasy Battle
Vložit

- Welcome back to another fantasy battle, today we’re going to analyze the fantasy fight between Palpatine and Count Dooku. Now, before some of you scoff and say well Palpatine would obviously win, and while you are probably right, I think it’d be interesting to deep dive into their fighting styles, force powers and overall psychology to see how the fight would really turn out. Would it be more difficult for Palpatine than the Jedi he fought in his office? Or would it be easier?
First let’s discuss Dooku’s powers and abilities, as well as his lightsaber fighting style. These videos are always interesting because they require us to really dive into the users psychology as much as their physical endurance and abilities in the force. Dooku was known as one of the best swordsman in the galaxy. That’s saying a lot. He was trained by non other than Jedi grand Master Yoda, and he was a VERY powerful user of the force. Unlike obi-wan kenobi, who really wasn’t gifted at anything other than his sheer perseverance to be the best he could, and his determination to be the best lightsaber form 3 user there was, Count Dooku was actually super gifted with the force.
Dooku used the second form of lightsaber combat, known as Makashi. Now this form was designed specifically for fighting lightsabers. It was an old school style for an old school guy, when the time came to fighting against droids with blaster weapons, this form wasn’t really encouraged. For this reason, Dooku using this style gave him a severe advantage over his enemies as they weren’t used to fighting anything who used this form, let alone as good as he did. His curved hilt allowed him to be very precise with his attacks, as well as use the hilt’s curve to create immense power on down strokes at the last second. Overwhelming many opponents. While Makashi had it’s weaknesses, such as with blasters, and being a one handed lightsaber form, Dooku was so masterful of it, that these weaknesses turned into strengths for him.
His force powers were just as amazing as his abilities with a lightsaber. While many force users can all do the basics such as push, pull, run fast, and jump high, Dooku was primarily gifted in moving objects with his mind, again, with extreme precision. Just like his fighting form, Dooku took great pride in his telekinetic powers. I would say the power that Dooku was the most proficient in, was Force lightning, while he did come in second place compared to Palpatine himself, Dooku used his Sith lightning to both intimidate, kill, and torture his enemies. In the run of Son of Dathomir, Dooku used lightning to torture Darth Maul, merely toying with the captured Zabrak. Often he would combine his two favourite powers, making someone float in the air, and then frying them with electricity.
Now let’s look at Palpatine’s powers and abilities and then we can properly simulate their battle against one another.
It’s no big news that Palpatine was extremely powerful in the force. He was gifted I would say with the dark side since he was a little boy. His overall affinity to the force was one thing, but it was his sheer rage and bloodlust that made him an unstoppable force. His lightsaber fighting style is something interesting to discuss.
"Despite being highly trained in the art of combat by my master, I rarely used these weapons. I preferred to call upon the infinite power of the dark side to win my battles. Yet when the time came to reveal my true nature, few could survive the fury of my blades."
Palpatine, while having a red Sith lightsaber of his own, in fact, two of them as we saw him use against Darth Maul and savage Opress in the clone wars, wasn’t a fan of using lightsabers. He didn’t care for them. He only used them to mock the Jedi. He went so far with this prank, that he mastered all 7 lightsaber fighting styles just to completely doodoo on any Jedi he would ever come to fight. Like in revenge of the Sith when he fought agen Kolar, saese Tin, Kit Fisto, and Mace Windu. Each of which had different lightsaber fighting forms. He used his knowledge and mastery of all forms to easily destroy his opponents, one to satisfy his ego, and the other to portray how useless and pointless the Jedi were. That the dark side was the only true way to use the force in all of its glory, not the dogmatic narrow usage of the light side that the Jedi favoured.
Thank you for watching today's video. I hope you have a great day, and I'll see you in the next one! May the force be with you, ALWAYS!

I am adoring the surge of popularity of Dooku's character.
Yeah, it's all the filthy casuals. The true fans already knew all of this.
Yeah everyone is hogging him in hvv lobbies in bf2 now 😅
@@YorktownUSA I have always regretted the fact that this character never gained the popularity of others, I do understand how consumers of Star Wars movies may be led to believe he is a filler of no importance, as Dooku was definitely underused in AOTC and ROTS, but even a good number of years ago (when I was really following Star Wars) there was extremely good content about him. It is good that people are starting to like Dooku.
Dooku' is the best character I'm happy to see more people are appreciating him.

if dooku wanted to kill anakin would have died in the first 10 seconds of the battle@@johnhoran9840
Dooku was only choked over the prompter because he wasn't prepared to be attacked. If he can prevent Yoda from using the force against him telekinetically that means his passive barrier is strong enough for Sidious. He couldn't choke Dooku on a whim if he was ready for it, though I still think eventually Sidious overpowers
good observation.
Bro he Choke him over a diatance of more then 100 million Light years, the hologram cant choke Doku, only the Real Sidious can wich was (like i said) millions of light years away thats an other level of force strengh.
He couldn't prevent Yoda from using the force against him, Yoda just wasn't really focused on him, he was more worried about Anakin and obi-wan
I disagree for multiple reasons:
1) Palpatine is stronger than Yoda in the Force, and so would possess the power to break through Dooku’s Force bubble.
2) Palpatine *_HAS_* broken through the Force bubble of an even more powerful Sith than Dooku in the canon comics: Darth Vader. In the comic, despite Vader being in battle-mode against The Emperor and his Royal Guards, Palpatine, with the greatest of ease, Force-choked Vader for a prolonged period and then telekinetically crushed all of his limbs. This feat of sheer dominance over even Darth Vader shows the disparity in power between Sidious and Dooku.
3) True Sith should know to never drop their Force bubble so long as they’re conscious, so it’s hard to believe a Sith as skilled as Dooku would drop his guard even (or perhaps especially) in the presence of his Sith master. But regardless of whether Sith do this or not, Palpatine has displayed the ability to easily break through their bubbles on a whim anyway. Darth Sidious is simply that powerful.
@@11bluekitkats Vader was on the same ship as the Officers.
And no, the distance definitly matters otherwise everyone would be fighting sitting on there Planet and Choke people on other planets.
Only a few can use the force on Such distance.
While I don't think he'd ever truly defeat Palps (Who has utterly insane Force Amp), Dooku might still actually put up a better fight than people might expect. Honestly though, the biggest of Dokku's disadvantages here is probably his age, being in his 80s, the guy needs to lean heavily on the force to perform physical feats other lesser Jedi barely even need the force to perform, his body is just that affected by his age (Still, even were he young he'd still lose this fight) Its part of why I respect Dooku so much, even in his 80s he still kicks ass. I guess if Dooku FULLY embraced the dark side, it might be more even, but at the same time dark side corruption would worsen his already time worn body, a short term power up at a long term price.
That's a good point about the side effects of fully embracing the dark side. At Dooku's age, he just can't afford to pay such a price
At around the time of episode 1 as the latest jedi master/early sith apprentice period, I think Dooku is a match for Palpatine. It changes though, as he gets weaker and his master stronger till episode 3.
Another thing to take into account is that Dooku is master swordsman at one specific form which is amplified by his curved hilt. Palpatine mastered all seven lightsaber forms and if I remember, Dooku's form is actually weak against other forms like that of Anakin Skywalker.
@@StuckonStupid84 Its kind of a weird case since yeah, Sidious mastered all seven forms, but with Dooku he didn't just master form 2, he perfected it to a previously unheard of level, even to the point of mostly neutralizing its weaknesses. Though yeah, Anakin did get the better of him, partly due to Anakin having a near similar perfect mastery of form 5 and also Sidious telling Dooku to hold back at first. Problem was when Dooku was forced to start fighting seriously in ROTS, it was already too late because his holding back previously allowed Anakin to build up too much momentum, something no form 2 user, regardless of skill, should ever do VS a skilled form 5 user.
@@1918BARsam nah even In the time of episode one, dooku would be no match. Even as a younger man 9 times out of 10 fighting against palpatine in a fight to the death would lead to dookus death.
I really liked how Dooku would fight with one hand behind his back.
He fights like a fencer just like Christopher Lee.
Can’t wait to experience the Sheev terror of these two Dooku-ing it out. 😅
Can you do a theory on what if Grievous found out about the truth of Dooku crashing his ship?
This would be a really great video. Awesome idea!

Dooku would body general G so I'd be a short what if lol
I was thinking the same thing during their dialogue in tales of the jedi. Dooku didnt seem afraid of sidious when he was talking to him. Then again he didnt submit fully to sidious until after his fight with yadle
I think in the RoTS movie book, Sidious was fully aware Dooku was going to make a move on him sooner or later, hence why the "do it" to kill Dooku took him by surprise.
That just means Dooku wasn't afraid - personally I put this down to a mix of righteous anger and that he doesn't know Palpatine or the extent of his power. After all he's being seduced to join the sith - I doubt Palpatine has been showing off his power to dominate and torture yet. I go by the fight against Savage and Maul as a good comparison. Palps literally throws and crushes both of his opponents against the glass walls crushing them, before deciding hes going to play with both his lightsabers for a bit before humiliating both of them with relative ease. At this stage these are opponents Dooku would take individually very seriously even if he could beat them both
I recall that Darth Plagius once thought Dooku was the biggest threat to the Sith's plans due to his mastery of form 2 a rarely used form that excels in lightsaber duels.
No.
@@papapalps2415 Yes, and Palpatine himself thought this too after AOTC in the novels. He saw Dooku as an inferior UNTIL that point, which is why he wanted Anakin to kill him. Anakin could still be molded. Dooku was more of an equal than an apprentice, both politically and in combat. Palpatine disliked lightsaber combat. He was excellent in all forms, but his lightsaber was more of a decorated mockery of the Jedi, one he, in his arrogance that the Sith were so superior, did really not like using. And that was his mistake. We saw it when he fought Yoda. Yoda was better than him with a lightsaber. Dooku was too.
I think old Dooku would've lost due to the fatigue of age, but prime Dooku? No idea. Could've legit won that, he was a better duellist than Mace at the Academy and always stalemated Yoda in the most beautiful duels in Jedi history.
@@TheStraightestWhitest "Yes, and Palpatine himself thought this too until after AOTC in the novels. He saw Dooku as an inferior UNTIL that point..."
And your evidence for this is...what, exactly? (Hint; it doesn't fucking exist. There's quite literally not a single source in the entire body of SW that attests to this, and even if there was, it would be plainly overridden by quite literally EVERY SINGLE OTHER SOURCE IN THE ENTIRE FRANCHISE that speaks on the matter of Dooku and Palpatines relationship and power dynamic, up to and including Lucas).
"Dooku was more of an equal than an apprentice..."
What the fuck manner of drug are you smoking?
"Palpatine disliked lightsaber combat...(snip)"
Blah fucking blah. Can this entire fucking fanbase of trogolodytes grow a functioning fucking brain for once instead of just mindlessly regurgitating whatever they have picked up through Internet osmosis as The One Holy Truth, stemming from nearly as braindead CZcamsrs? Like as if just repeating whatever you have been spoonfed by other twits is supposed to make you even vaguely knowledgeable or even intelligent, when we both perfectly well know you couldn't cite a single fucking source even if I pulled a gun out and pressed it to your head.
"Yoda was better than him with a lightsaber..."
Factually incorrect. They were both equals in saber combat, per many sources. At the level they are, and the relative equality they enjoyed, environmental and random factors are INFINITELY more important. Not that it particularly matters, because Yoda is Dooku's superior by a vast margin as well.
"...but prime Dooku?"
ROTS Dooku IS his fucking prime by virtually every single source in existence.
"...he was a better duelist than Mace in the Academy..."
No, he wasn't. Most sources have them being relatively equal when Dooku was a Jedi, at least based off sparring matches and the like.
"...and always stalemated Yoda..."
No.
@@TheStraightestWhitestdooku was in the same weight class as yoda, Sidious, windu, legend plo koon etc… dookus force abilities and overall power are severely underestimated, especially telekenisis. Telekenisis and lightsaber combat, him and Sidious are equals in. Sidious’s main advantages really are sith magic and force lightning. That’s really the only thing Sidious had over dooku. I think if they fought, Sidious would win 70-80, mayb 90% of the time, but dooku held his own against Yoda no problem so I don’t see why he wouldn’t be able to against Sidious. Especially since windu was able to out duel Sidious in lightsaber combat.
@@sdaftermath123 You're absolutely right. I too think Sidious would win a majority, but every single fight would be life and death, and Dooku would undoubtedly win a few since he was basically the best duelist around. Prime Dooku (age 50-70 ish) didn't really have superiors, only peers.
I really hope we get a tales of the Sith show.
Imagine seeing Dooku and Sidious fighting, and Dooku losing the battle would be the straw that broke the camels back as to why joins Sidious (and thus trains Ventress, and later savage to destroy Sidious).
I'd like a "Tales of the Dark Side" and get a Palpatine and Grievous three part special, ending with 6 episodes like "Tales of the Jedi" were.
I think he would have a chance if he fully embraced the dark side, we always saw him in the middle of the light and dark, so he has potential to show
Thats why he had Ventress and Oppress. Now of course them 2 were far off from from being a challenage to Sidious. But it was something to work with.
@TheDevilOfDallas He only has been shown with sith eyes like two times in the clone wars I believe.
No.
@TheDevilOfDallas wrong, he’s shown to have sith eyes multiple times in the clone wars show and movie, he just conceals them
I think his mastery of light side and dark side would give him an advantage.
what if Dooku turned back to the light after Yaddle said he was right about the counsel, that she had stepped down and he would be forgiven for his treason? Teaming up with her at the secret meeting place in the works
I agree! I think it would be interesting to see what if Yaddle and dooku got away from Palpatine and returned to the Council
I’m sure that Palpatine would’ve simply killed them both with ease and then had to start again with another placeholder apprentice. Darth Sidious is simply too powerful for even the both of them.
@@TheGreater-ScopeVillain in the Plagueis novel, both palpatine and Plagueis recognized dooku as a serious threat. Sidious would eventually beat dooku but dooku would put up a good fight for a couple of minutes like he did with yoda. Dooku was very convinced that he could beat Sidious if he had obi wan or qui gon on his side, so I don’t think there was too much of a gap between Sidious and dooku talent wise.
If dooku teamed up with yaddle, the smart thing to do would be to tell her to run, and hold Sidious off as long as he can while she escapes to the council
@@TheGreater-ScopeVillain no dooku was younger and palpatine wasn’t as strong as ep 3. Dooku was stronger than mace windu at the time and was considered to be the best swordsman.
I think pals would still beat just about with the force but it would be a lot closer compared to if they fought in ep3.
I think dooku wnd yaddle would get the upper hand on him and he would have to escape and then ruining order 66 and everything.
In a fight to the death Sidious would have killed both Dooku and Yaddle; however, if Dooku and Yaddle worked together to just hold Sidious off until they could escape and call for help I think they were powerful enough for that feat.
8:05 I love this, Dooku totally would scoff at that line, too.
On another note. The latest Tales of the Jedi episodes made me rethink on why Dooku said nothing as Anakin took his head: I think after all the people he’d betrayed, his friends, his mentors, the institutions he cared for. I think Dooku said nothing because he thought he deserved to die and wasn’t worth saving.
And not only that, he realized all those horrible acts he did were for nothing.
He was stunned by Sidious treachery, a man he considered perhaps his only friend.

Dooku was one of the few Jedi or Sith that mastered all forms of lightsaber combat, but he decided to focus heavily on Form II, which actually gave him an extreme advantage when facing another lightsaber wielder. Mace was his equal overall due to being slightly more powerful, but was slightly behind in pure saber-to-saber combat against Dooku; and Yoda and Sidious were so much more powerful that they could amplify themselves to levels he couldn't match, so when dueling, they would be vastly superior. It has been stated that Sidious did think that Dooku could possibly best him in straight lightsaber combat due to his proficiency in Form II, so there is a possibility that Dooku could win.
Lmao, Mace was weaker than Dooku all around. Dooku beat prime Windu in a sparring match pre-TPM and gained forced lightning after TCW. Next, Dooku beat Sora Bulq, the co-creator of Vaapad. Lastly, if they fought, Mace wouldn't get that much of an amp as he did against Sidious.
@@charzanboo9940 It is well documented that Mace and Dooku were pretty much equals all-around by the time of the Attack of the Clones, but like I said, Mace had some advantages, as did Dooku. In any case, we factually know that by ROTS Windu was in Sidious' general tier and could contend with him. There are any number of sources that confirm and back this up, most of which are G Canon. And even if you want to just go by the new canon, there are far fewer sources, but the movies in of themselves still make it clear enough. Dooku, on the other hand, has no standing. He may not be quite fodder to ROTS Sidious, but he's very close to it.
@@papapalps2415 Your argument = 💩💩💩
Idk man, I fell in love with Dooku all over again after watching TotJ. Such a cool character.
Hearing a Star Trek Quote in a Star Wars video puts a smile on my face, what can I say. I love both franchises
Yes! I appreciated that too. That's the awesome thing about Theory, he's a Trekkie as well. I am a die hard SW fanatic above all else but Star Trek is a very close second
A animated fight between Count Duku and Darth Malgus would be quite interesting 🤔
Dooku would win
I would love it if you did death match type videos with random characters, your analysis for Dooku vs Sidious was spot on,if it was lightsabers only i think Dooku is skilled enough to give Sidious a decent fight even land a glancing blow like luke did with Vader on Bespin, which would enrage Sidious and i think the argument would end very quickly with a force lift and hail of lightning.
Keep up the great work and May The Force Be With You.....Always!!!!
How about a scenario where Vader actually tried to defeat Sidious? Could include any strategy, secret apprentices, soldiers, droids, what would it take for Vader to win?
Also Sidious doesn't get prep time or tricks up his sleeve, i.e no giant kyber crystals to attack Vader with like in the ongoing Vader comic, and Vader is in his prime, not in an emotionally compromised state. Just lightsabers and the dark side. So far the only time we've seen Palpatine beat Vader in a fair fight was in Vader's early days of training

We almost got this in Tales of the Jedi. When Dooku meets with Sidious, you might notice that he stands very close to the Dark Lord. Constantly. Palpatine is always within lightsaber range. And Dooku has never been more angry with Sidious than he was at that moment. Sidious, notably, stresses that they are on the same team for most of the interaction. He appears to be aware of how unstable Dooku is at that moment, and is doing what he can to prevent a fight with him. Had Sidious been his usual condescending self about Qui-gonn, I have no doubt that Dooku would've drawn his blade, at the very least.
I can't understate how much I love this channel
A follow up video to this, could be a fan fiction of "What if Dooku didn't fall to the dark side?"
Qui Gon lives and trains Anakin, and they fight the clone wars together. Obi wan gets snips as a apprentice. Alot would be different
Very interesting bits here I didn’t know about Pallatine’s contempt for lightsabers and he mastered them merely out of spite towards the Jedi. Good stuff
I would slightly favor Dooku in a pure lightsaber battle but if Palpatine feels he is in any danger to lose he will use his superior force abilities to likeky get the W imo but could be interesting. Great content sir 🙏
I know Palps would win but I think Dooku would put up more of a fight, and Dooku also had an immensely powerful force choke, which I like to imagine he would have used on Sidious right as. He confronted him about killing Qui-Gon Jyn. Grabbing him like Vader did to Reva and and force choking him, then throwing him to the side and blasting him with force lightening, at first Palpas is thrown off but then he starts evil laughing as Dooku starts to fully embrace the dark side, they then duel and although Palps is toying with him at first, he does start to try and soon over powers Dooku, reminding him who’s really in charge. Dooku gains a hold of him self and Palps stops his force choke, I’m sorry master. You have done well Lord Tyranus, your hatred makes you strong, but do not forget your place. Then they continue their talk.
What if Dooku had joined up with Yaddle and fought Sidious together?
Palpatine could hold off yaddle easily he will manipulate dooku during fight distracting him then kill yaddle dooku submits to be his apprentice fight is over
No good. Yadle just isn't anywhere near powerful enough to reliably back Dooku in such a situation (Heck look how easily Dooku himself defeated her) Maybe if he teamed up with someone stronger, they might pull it off.
No unfortunately Dooku needs the power of the darkside to compete with Sidious. So that's a no to jedi dooku getting it done even with Yaddle.
Dooku and Windu would clap Sidious cheeks lol
I’m sure that Palpatine would’ve simply killed them both with ease and then had to start again with another placeholder apprentice. Darth Sidious is simply too powerful for even the both of them.
Finally, the video I have been waiting for from Star Wars Theory. I may make realistic drawings of the two fighting in the location on Coruscant when Dooku landed and Sidious said, "Welcome home, Lord Tyranus."
Well palpatine in novel, in legends, cannon said he feared dooku for his light saber combat, saying he would most likely lose and so feared him and made sure to show dooku his dark side powers were too strong to beat. After his fight with yoda, sidious knew dooku was the superior duelist, palpatine knew yoda was the superior duelist to himself and he even tried to run to the hall way to take away yodas advantage but yoda cut him off so they battled in the senate chamber where yoda won the fight of sabers. And dooku didn’t try to kill yoda during their fight, in the novel dooku was wasting time and to show off his superior power and dueling against yoda, and palpatine saw this that he didn’t try to kill yoda more of just holding him off and showing off. Yoda even confirmed this, that dooku was showing off his new power and just showing off and that yoda feared the idea that someone so powerful would call someone master. Plaguies who is said to be far superior in light saber combat to sidious, said by Lucas, plaguies said there’s only two jedi who can pose a problem, dooku for his fighting skill, due to the fact that he trained in form two for the day the sith returned, he tailored himself for combat, whereas the sith moved away from brute force combat to more force power and manipulation. And he even said that palpatine would lose even though he has learned all he could, and that he knew palp would lose but he was unsure about himself, “His ability to use a light saber, the weapon of the Jedi is something only seen in ancient times past, my apprentice, with all his knowledge of the forms and skill will not stand a chance, but for myself, I who am far superior to my apprentice, I can’t foresee the outcome for he is tailored for combat where we sith learn the skills of all seven but no longer focus on such brutish combat, we are beyond that now, we are superior in the force. We control it, it breaks our chains and sets us free.” Plaguies knew he’d win against palpatine, but ofc sidious would beat dooku in force powers, most definitely but light saber combat, he’d lose bad a mile
Huh. It's actually rather rare to come across people that are actually actively trying to be dishonestb
in the SW fanbase, relatively speaking, rather than just having no earthly idea what they are talking about. Going out of your way to make up quotes and other such fanfiction an presenting it as canon fact, though? That's...well, hardly a new one, but still neat to see.
Love the timing of this video. Great content. Keep it up!
What if Palpatine never killed Plagueis?
Would Mace kill Palpatine, would Anakin become Plagueis' apprentice save Padme and live forever?
God this fight was be such an amazinggg visual to see. I was seeing it in my head as you were describing it. Let’s just say I got excited listen to this
Ah yes, finally reveals his true intentions of joining Sidious. It was to pretend to be his pawn and avenge Qui Gon's death.
You hit the nail on the head I feel. Dooku would match the Emperor with the blade, maybe even edge him out, but the latters overall power in the force would just make it an impossible task for the fallen Jedi.
Dooku would need serious rage to compete, Sidious would have to speak on Qui Gons death and enrage Dooku for Dooku to instantly level up
@@thomasthetank827 dooku doesn’t have the capacity to match Palpatine’s force power
@@JackTheShadowMuncher in new canon, how would you even gauge that? His capacity.
If Dooku fully.embraced the dark side AND it was purely a saber fight, I think Dooku would put up a decent fight at the least 👌
Din Djarin vs Boba Fett. A battle of the mandalorians would be epic!
With just having seen tales of the jedi, I'm curious about what if dooku was given the seat on the council instead of mace.
Quigon would probably have gotten one. I wonder whether he would oppose bringing Anakin into the order.
I think he was upset not because he wanted to be in the council but because of the way he didn't get it, even if he got the place I don't think it would change something
Mace was ass kisser
I really hope that Dave Filoni watches your content, Star Wars needs creators like you who are true fans.
I really wish they went with George's plan of Maul being the bad of the sequels. His mom was the only one palps feared. And if in all those years he was able to learn all of that dark magic from his mom, he would of been just as powerful and scary of a villain as the P man.
Nah I think Kylo should of just been the main villain along with snoke
@@skywalker2676 Only if Snoke was an ancient sith, and not just a puppet controlled by Sidious.
Good point, would have been cool to see, but personally, I found Maul's demise in Rebels at the hands of Obi-Wan really satisfying. It was a good end for his character
Darth talon 😆
YES I LOVE THE FANTASY BATTLES!!!!
I think plo koon vs maul would be very interesting. Plo koon is one of the only Jedi besides yoda maul had respect for and admitted he would probably lose to him so I want to see how that’d play out
Maul would kill him in 10 seconds
@@dotosk7050 Maul lost to Ahsoka and Padawan Kenobi lel easy battle for Master Plo who defeated Yoda in a lightsaber duel

Ahsoka was losing to maul but he got too arrogant and tried killing her in a risky way and during the clone wars the fights between Kenobi and maul were always evenly matched but ya I think plo koons lightsaber form and his clam demeanor would evently overwhelm maul
@@Hi-yk5os No.

Best way to drive into work was listening to this awesome story
If Dooku couldn't hold off Yoda then I already know that he wouldn't win against Sidious, he'd put up a fair fight but Sidious power of the dark side would of been overwhelming.
You notice what part Dooku was losing to against Yoda? It wasn't Force Powers but actually during the Saber battle I think Dooku saw the tide turning. I think it would be the same against Sidious. It would of been hard but I think could of checked Sidious (barely holding off his lightning) and would of then come down to Sabers. Dooku would be backing up the whole time looking for mistakes or openings but wouldn't find it with Sidious. Sidious was too powerful with his mastering of all forms and eventually got the best of Dooku.
@@venomousheart2298 The opposite. If Sidious wins, it's with the Force, not with a lightsaber. Dooku always stalemated Yoda in lightsaber combat, even back at the Academy. He was better than everyone else, even Mace.
@@TheStraightestWhitest I appreciate your feedback and interest in the discussion. Let me make some quick statements as to my position on the matter. If you observe the battle between Yoda and Dooku on Geonosis EP2 it began with Force capabilities which ended up in a draw matching against the most powerful Jedi Grand Master at the time. When it next proceeded over to Saber combat some might argue that Yoda may of been starting to get the better hand or Dooku was simply looking for a way out and created the distraction using his Force Capabilities with the falling tower and successfully made his escape again due to his Force Power prowess against Yoda.
Now as a comparison to Sidious Force capabilities during the Senate chamber fight Yoda in EP3 Yoda had stood up to Sidious Force lightning so much so they both blew off the platform which tells you Sidious was not more Force capable than Yoda, yet Dooku was able to stand up to Yoda in EP2 using Force capabilities.
You also make a correct observation regarding Dooku's saber prowess. I understand that Dooku, Yoda, and Mace were the most efficient saberists during Dooku's tenure as a Jedi and Yoda even thought Dooku was actually the most gifted of all Jedi during their practice saber duals and most likely his replacement as Jedi Grand Master in the event he could no longer fulfill that role.
In regards to Mace Windu I understand his skills grew immensely during the Clone Wars and his mastering of Vaapad. If you can recall when Windu made his appearance at Geonosis on the platform Dooku chose not to directly engage him instead sending the Super Droids. My read on that was I think Dooku being very strategic/calculating understood Windu may of bested him in a direct Saber engagement. Also look at what happened between Sidious and Windu during their saber engagement. Just like with Sidious I think Windu would of defeated Dooku with Sabers as well.
That's why I lean more to Dooku's Force Capabilities vs. Saber in deciding factors (I know that comes as a surprise to most).
@@venomousheart2298 The reason Windu bested Sidious with sabers is because of Vaapad. Sidious was basically fighting himself. His power empowered Windu, making him faster and stronger, all while also reflecting that power back at Sidious. But Vaapad doesn't work on Dooku, in which case it's just Juyo, which gets beat by Makashi.
@@TheStraightestWhitest Here is some interesting info I came across:
Makashi emphasises a systematic technique, employing swift, precise strikes to exploit an opponent's weaknesses and openings to devastate them. It's easily the most elegant of the forms, and also focuses on conserving energy.
Juyo/Vaapad's strength is its unpredictability, even (at times) to its user. It's less kinetic and strength oriented than Djem So (albeit not by much) and focuses on speed, ferocity and power to overwhelm its opponents. It's heavily reliant on emotional chaos within the user, where rampant emotions are held in a tight grip to the point that they can be overwhelming. It's why its use is limited among both Jedi and Sith as it can either lead them to the dark side - in the case of the Jedi - or make them slip up and be easy targets - in the case of both.
Both have their weaknesses. As a duelling form, Makashi is naturally less suited to blaster deflection. It also lacks kinetic energy and so it's ill suited against physically overpowering opponents who focus on overwhelming their opponents through sheer strength. As Dark Disciple for example has also shown us, its rigidness can also make its practitioner weak to unpredictable fighting styles. One of Makashi's strengths is its practitioner's ability to analyse an opponent's fighting style and exploit it, but an unpredictable style has no obvious pattern or rhythm for a Form II user to track and exploit.
It might sound like Form VII is more effective against II than vice versa, but form VII also has its own fair share of weaknesses. Aside from the emotional aspect of VII which can make its user either fall to the dark side or make stupid mistakes and decisions due to their bloodlust blinding them, it is also notably quite vulnerable if they're put on the defensive. Due to the unpredictability of the form, it rarely - if ever - involves its users planning to use it as a defensive form. Because of this, practitioners have to limit themselves to predictable defensive manoeuvres (unless they've mastered another form like I, III or VI, that is), which can make them an easy target for a more orthodox swordsman.
This unpredictability can also make them vulnerable to Force attacks, as the nature of form VII means that their fighting style focuses on attacking until their opponent is overwhelmed. Unfortunately, if the opponent manages to tag them with a Force attack or disrupts that assault, then form VII is automatically at a disadvantage, regardless of how skilled they are. A Makashi swordsman like Dooku for example can and has done this to form VII practitioners before, like Sora Bulq:
Haha, the Dorian Yates was also called ''The Shadow''. Always love stuff from Darth Plagueis.
The boring truth is that Palp will never be killed. He's been the main antagonist in the series for forty years, he can't be replaced at this stage.
Hey Theory, long-time fan here. I admire your passion and work on SW. Regarding this video here, you read my mind, once again! Many thanks for this fantasy battle video between these two favourite Sith Lords of mine.
In a relatively small room like the mace vs sidious duel, I would say dooku wins high-extreme difficulty. In an open place with a lot of vantage points like the yoda vs sidious battle, I would say palpatine wins mid-high, maybe high diff. I would say dooku is a slightly better duelist than palpatine, enough to let him win in a small room where palpatine can't use the force effectively, however dooku is definitely weaker in the force no doubt, so in a battle between the 2 in a room like the senate building where yoda and sidious fought, palpatine will be forced to retreat and rely on the force, shooting lightning and throwing stuff, dooku will be able to hold his own for a little while, but in a force battle palpatine will always win in the end between them. Also dooku is less mobile than yoda so it will be even more difficult for him in that situation, he won't be able to run and jump around all those platforms, he'll likely be stationary, blocking palpatines attacks and trying to get a few in himself, unsuccessfully.
Pretty much my thinking. Lightsabers only I think Dooku wins but including the force Palpatine doesn’t really have an equal, especially if u start bringing Legends etc into it. Dude is basically a god 🤷♂️
Goated comment.
In an alternate what if... suppose the Count only appeared to agree with Sidious before the events on the General's flag ship, in that, moments before Dooku was beheaded, let's suppose that Darth Tyranus changes course. What if I told you that during the exchange between Anakin and Dooku, as the Count is being pushed back closer to the Chancellor, that it is this EXACT play that Sidious doesn't see coming. And so, during the strafe where the Count is behanded, not yet beheaded, instead Count Dooku masterfully counter strafes Skywalker and spins simultaneously to both behead the Chancellor and slice off Anakin's other hand with one last spin move to then remove his head. Effectively taking twice the lives, and double the falls. You see, in this what if scenario, the Count perfectly understands that betrayal is the way of the sith, and beats the Chancellor to the Finnish line in this game of death. Becoming the soul heir to the sith, he would then have Kenobi taken to some remote location, where the Count could begin the slow assimilation of Obi-Wan to finally become his apprentice in the dark side of the force. All the while pushing forward with his former master's grand plans to undo the Jedi permanently, as well as rebuild the Republic to better control corruption in the Senate.
What if The rebels took over the death star instead of destroyed it.
SO Saw Garrera style :D
Malgus vs Anyone!!! I want to learn more about him. All my legends knowledge is after ROTJ.
Depends when they fought. If Dooku was younger, it would be a very close fight with Sidious winning.
the makashi salute really is a cool start to a duel lol
Let’s get more luke Skywalker fantasy battles, love the vids brotha
i would love to hear your thoughts on what if qui gonn lived and influenced obi wan and anakin to help dooku defeat sidious during episode 2. that may seem a little unfair to throw anakin in there, but during aotc he wasn't that refined yet and really struggled against dooku. so i feel like anakin's presence might actually make the fight more interesting since anakin's brashness might put the whole group more at risk
I think if that had happened, Dooku would have succeeded in destroying the Sith as he intended. He would have returned to the jedi council where he explained why he feigned joining Sidious to begin with. The whole matter of the Republic and Separatists would have ended far more peacefully. Dooku would have been hailed as one of the greatest jedi masters of all time.
A "what if Dooku revealed Palpatine in the beginning of Revenge of The Sith" would be a fairer fight. The three against Sidious or maybe even after incapacitating Obiwan. Not very clear of the power level here but any solo fight Sidious is in has a clear victor.
Anakin vs yoda mace or maul or palpatine tbh I really want to see that or luke vs windu would be fire btw nice video much love
Pls keep the what ifs coming
We love them!!

I have some What Ifs! Please do more!
What if the padawan who was killed in front of Bail Organa while escaping the massacre actually survived and was able to flee with Bail?
What if Anakin, soon to be a father himself, was unable to go through with killing younglings at the temple?
What if Darth Vadar was able to sense that Leia was his daughter in A New Hope?
What if Padme actually loved Obi-wan and cheated on Anakin with him, and Luke & Leia were really Obi-wan's children?
What if Anakin risked being expelled from the Jedi Order (or actually was expelled) and jumped off the airship after Padme in Attack of the Clones?
Amazing content as always theory
When Dooku does the twirl thing in AOTC, Dooku is giving Yoda a duelist salute.
You should do a fanfic of "What if Dooku never turned to the Dark Side"
(I've wanted someone to do that long before Legends of the Jedi).
I want to see Star Wars Theory vs Mike Zeroh!
I’d like to see legends grievous vs adult Ahsoka.
I think Dooku would beat him in lightsaber combat alone, but Palps would obviously rely on his force prowess.
Please do a What if, if Yoda showed up instead of Yaddle.
There's a solid argument Dooku was the best lightsaber duellist of that era. No one, maybe in all of star-wars, had perfected form-two (Makashi) to such a degree like Dooku had. I mean who else could best both Anakin & Obi-Wan, at the same time, on a semi-regular basis. I think the the two best lightsaber duellists are actually Dooku & Yoda, followed by Mace, followed by Sidious. Those are the top 4, lightsaber duelling-wise.
Mace Windu:
I'm fully aware Mace's fighting style (Vapaad) harnesses the power of the darkside, and uses it against the user, as shown when he beat Sidious. But I would argue Vapaad might not work as well against Dooku as it did against Sidious. Dooku was not only a Jedi for 70 years, and he never truly got Sith-eyes, but his fighting style (Makashi) doesn't involve him harnessing the darkside, like Sidious, it just involved his skill with the lightsaber blade. And his skill only comes from decades of training and combat experience, which Dooku has more of both than Mace. And after Dooku turned to the darkside he slaughtered many Jedi, so his actual lightsaber v lightsaber combat experience is far superior to Mace. I feel Vapaad wouldn't work that well against Dooku, and then Dooku's skill would eventually cut Mace down. Not only that, but I think Dooku was a slightly more gifted force-wielder also, especially with force lighting. So I feel Dooku would beat mace 6/10
Yoda:
Yoda is probably the only guy, of that era, that has more experience than Dooku. He was shown to fight Dooku on even ground, and possible even have the upper hand, but that was a fatigued Dooku as he had just defeated Anakin & Obi-wan. And at no time did Dooku actually look like he was losing. When Dooku was a Jedi him and Yoda were known to spar and apparently it was the most brilliant swordsmanship anyone in the order had seen. And Dooku was Yoda's direct Padawan, so it makes sense he would know all of Yoda's moves and techniques. I would put them down to a 50/50 with a lightsaber. But Yoda is clearly more gifted with the force. So on the whole Yoda would win more times than not. 8/10 to Yoda.
Sidious:
Unpopular opninon but I believe Sidious is actually the worst lightsaber combatant out of 'the big 4'. He lost to Mace Windu (though mace was slightly assisted) He didn't want to engage with Yoda, with a lightsaber, and tried to flee. And when forced into battle he heavily relied on the force in their duel to win. He possibly has the least combat experience out of the four, and was never shown to use a lightsaber in the original trilogy. I think not only does Dooku out-duel Sidious, but he would probably do it with mid difficulty, similar to Mace, but maybe even quicker. but then Dooku would be blown away with the force, I believe no one is as strong as Sidious when it comes to the force, and he has shown you dont really need a lightsaber to be the strongest. After getting out-duelled he would just force lightning the shit out of Dooku and disintegrate him. Sidious wins 9/10.
Yes I understand Dooku was killed by Anakin, but I also believe Dooku was under orders from Sidious not to kill Anakin. And even if he did lose I feel it was more of a fluke, just like Obi-Wan beating Anakin was. Not to mention Dooku was out of his prime and at the age of 81.
The research and analysis are well done.

"It's treason, then."-Darth Sidious
Watching this on my lunch break at work today
Dooku just needs the secret technique of crossing his lightsabers in an "x" and the lightning would hurl back at Sidious with such intensity that he'd be vaporized. Obviously this makes perfect sense. ;)
Darth Plagueis feared that if a younger Palpatine were to fight Dooku (who was in his prime at the time), Palpatine would die. I don't think Dooku could win against Palpatine at his peak though.
It would be interesting to see a dooku and Ventress vs Sidious seen as Palpatine saw Ventress as a potential threat to him when he ordered her execution
I think Sidious was concerned about what Ventress’s powet could potentially become if given more time to train under Dooku, but at that moment, she couldn’t have stood up to Sidious even with Dooku’s help.

The whole point of Sith is to eventually try to 'beat' the master. In fair fight Dooku would probably lose, but if he surprise Sidious then maybe he could kill him. Who knows, maybe he heard the legend of Darth Plagueis the Wise...
In general, Apprentice need to find the way to beat the master from another source than Master's teachings. So Dooku could find a way, in secret. That's what i believe.
