You just don't need the finishing tape when you put on the overgrip like this. The glued end of the overgrip will hold it on.

This is the replacement of the VS, basically the same mould but flex fibres added in the layup

Unfortunately they got rid of the Pure Control line. I think that might have been perfect for me looking at the specs.

Babolat continued to sell the Pure Control under the name Pure Strike VS using the Pure Strike v2 paint job. The most recent Pure Strike VS (the 97 under the grey and red cosmetic) was a brand new mold, and marked the official end of the Pure Control line. Those looking for Pure Controls can find the last generation painted as Pure Strike v2 paint jobs (Pure Strike VS nearly all white frame) as used frames for reasonable cost. Cam Norrie actually uses the Pure Control painted as the Pure Strike.
