  • This 1989 Cadillac Allante was parked outside for over 11 years partially cover with a tarp. I could not watch this car die a slow death so I asked the owner to sell it and he agreed and we came up for a price of 500 bucks which was the cheapest Allante sell at that time. I have made a series out of this car so go and watch the beginning which I will add a link at the end of this video

some pulleys are reverse thread....... also, give a little push both ways. rock the bolt. While pushing, get a hammer and tap while turning..... it will give. jack car up, and rock the tire from north too south. if it gives play, that's the baddie. I recommend you replace both for giggles. the grease in the bearing back is bad. so far you are doing everything right Mitch. all rubber bushings on control arms, engine mounts and body are going to start rotting away. since it sat so long the rubber hasn't flexed , now that its working the rubber is going too wear out over next couple years. when you do the hubs call me. ill give you some tips so you don't fight it. Love ya man. Jaguar Man
PS. even though its an allante...... alot of parts on that car are going to cross. If you get into a place where you cant find it, locate the actual part number. Dont make your search criteria be..... Allante, water pump....... Make it, Part #1843620 or whatever. 1000 % guarantee that almost everything in that car is in another GM product all the way up to year 2002. The only thing not GM is the body pieces. Relays, computers, tie rods, ball Joints, breaks, ect will all cross over. once you some of these, right em down, cuz you will go.... hmm im going to look at an elderado, a sevile, a lumina, a impala, and so on. all im saying is trick the search engines and reverse look up stuff. Because once you have Part numbers.... you will be suprised whats in what.

Thanks for that, I made sure it does turn left Lucy before I ever started, everything on this car has been over torqued, I might have to take the chance of snapping it

@MitchGrooms Sorry to hear about you breaking the bolt, but unfortunately, that can happen to anyone. I had it happen to me on my 1990 Ford Thunderbird SC when I was working on it & had to rent a broken bolt extractor kit to remove it back in the day.

@MitchGrooms So did I, but after gas pricing kept climbing, I refused to continue to spend all that money on premium gas, which was the only type of gas that you could put in it. I drove from Dacula to Expo Design Center across from Perimeter Mall 5 days a week for almost 15 years in that car.

Always, took care of the wheel bearings but now, i snapped a bolt holding on a bad pulley, it would not break free..
