      @@DisneyMarkUK not just yet, I'm also trying to factor in monthly cost as this will be replacing a company car so need to get the most for my money. The only problem I have is boot space. We have a golden retriever so need decent room for him, that's the only thing stopping me from going for the evoque straight away. You just seem to get soo much car for the money though.

      @@elkiq95 I’ve got a 2017 HSE Dynamic and not had any problems with it, I believe a few have oil dilution problems although I suspect that’s because they’re generally not completing DPF regenerations correctly (easily done as you have no idea when it’s regenerating) I find using premium diesel cuts down the regeneration cycle due to higher cetane rating

    worth noting also that the dashboard we chose (with the stitching) comes on the SE and above models, other models get a plastic crinkle finish that we did not care for, so check that out if it matters to you.

    Best review I think I have ever seen on any car. Reasons.. Witty informative and detailed. Non professional in a very good and convincing way as the car is yours and not one loaned to you to make a video so you point out why you purchased it, the extras you got and any minus points you think people need to know. Only downside was didn't see you driving it, but as you nearly hung yourself doing the tow bar demonstration perhaps that's a good thing lol

    Greetings from the US! Your car is a beauty and I very much enjoyed your video. Will you give her a name? I think she deserves one.😂 I have purchased mine, also sight unseen, and expect her to arrive in June, so it was helpful to hear your impressions of the features “in the flesh”. I also opted for the powered gesture lift gate. From what I have seen on videos, you are meant to stand on the side of the back bumper and kick from there. Try it and see if you get on any better. I am excited for the clear sight rear view mirror as I suspect it will improve visibility. I also opted for the activity key. Did you consider that option at all ( the wrist band you wear that unlocks the doors etc)? Thanks again for your insights and relaxed presentation. Cheers!

Like you we almost went for the Velar but the new Evoque was announced on the day we were going to order it and loved it so much. I can’t remember how comfortable the seats were in the Velar but I do remember that although the Velar looks huge it didn’t seem to have any more room in it. You should do a review for sure, it’s quite liberating. We’d have gone for the first edition too but they didn’t come with the factory fitted tow hook (that we may never use). @TailoringTalk Před 5 lety

      Mark Forrest Hi Mark, I’m glad you said that you didn’t feel the Velar had any more room inside as the last of trace of any “buyers remorse” has now vanished! I was originally going for the HSE R-Dynamic like yours with one dealer but it didn’t have a couple features I really wanted, and price wise it was coming to the same or more than the First Edition with another dealer, who were also offering a 2% less interest rate on the PCP, so overall it has actually worked out about £2k less overall, so in the end was a no-brainer... only thing is I have to wait for it to be built but that’s fine. I will be sure to do a few video reviews like you’ve done with yours and will let you know! Look forward to seeing your continued adventures with your lovely new car and thanks once again for sharing your experiences with those of us excited about the Evoque!

      It hits nearly every single mark I want in a car. Ive been itching for a SUV. I drove a current evoque just to understand the size and its perfect I see why you all went with it vs the velar esp if you all do a lot of city driving. I can't wait to test drive the new one. already priced mine out and its pretty close to what you all had for options so its super helpful. @@DisneyMarkUK

    Brilliant video! Believe it or not my Discovery Sport was also at the upper end of the price range you mentioned but in US$. I’m liking the Evoque better! I purchased my DS so I could trade it back in. It only has 6.5 kilometers on it...
    As far as Land Rover/Range Rover reliability goes I drove my Disco 3 for 13 years and it was very reliable. It never broke down on me, was never towed and I never even had a flat tyre. However midway through the 13th year a good bit of the “electrickery” packed up so I decided to trade it in. Oh and wonder of wonders it never leaked anything.
    Ok time to be honest. I also had a 2000 Disco 2 and it needed a new head gasket after only 67,000km. ☹️

      Earle63 Thank you for messaging me. Yes, they do have a terrible reputation here regarding their reliability for sure. Will you be considering an Evoque in the future?
      A head gasket sounds like a big job 😬

    • @Earle63
      @Earle63 Před 5 lety

      Greetings Mark. Yes I am considering the Evoque but since I just purchased my DS I will wait a year or two.
      Aside from my Disco 2 head gasket I did not have any other problems with the car and I did love it. Unfortunately someone pulled out in front of me and in trying to avoid hitting them I rolled the car over. They kindly kept going and left me for dead. I was fine however and the damage to the car was not too bad as far as I could tell. The insurance company would not let me keep it and I purchased my Disco 3. Reliability of LR/RR has improved greatly and I do not plan on buying any other brand.
      Forgot to add: yes replacing the head gasket was expensive. I remember scolding three Land Rover employees in the dealership and asking why my car with low miles needed such a major repair. The answer was “maybe it had too much oil in it?” I told him they were the ONLY people who serviced my car. I never took it anywhere else. I must have been a bit loud as everyone around me became very quiet. Normally I am very polite and do not cause a scene. That was not one of those times. They won in the end because I paid for the repair.

I have gone for the First Edition in silver petrol P250 engine and is fully loaded but I have added the adaptive suspension and I luckily they had one in the showroom so I pick it up tomorrow. Good try at a review and trying to justify your purchase but I had the old evoque 4 years ago nice suv then went to porsche and I have to say quality and build is night and day I’ve looked at the velar and the new evoque and are no where near as good as porche if any body sits in all three vehicles porsche is way way ahead I thought the the velar and evoque is on par with Vauxhall’s suv range but please don’t put your car in the same class as porsche. I now have the new Macan and worth all of the 60 k I paid for it my previous Macan diesel cost the same and after 2 years I sold it for 54k amazing value.
    All the little gadgets from LR can’t make up for there cheaper quality interiors and you cannot dismiss the reliability question when doing a review

    • @DisneyMarkUK
      @DisneyMarkUK  Před 5 lety

      Dave Hollingworth Thank you, although I’m not trying to justify our purchase. We have experience with Porsche ownership and it hasn’t all been plane sailing, all cars can have issues and they really don’t hold their value any more than any other premium brand. I’d hardly group any Range Rover in the same class or range as a Vauxhall although there is nothing wrong with that brand. We were going to buy a Macan but didn’t like a single thing about it when we had one for the day. Each to their own though, enjoy your car. Cheers

      Hi mark I here what your saying I’ve had the Macan for the last 3 years this is my third made to order
      I have always thought the Evoque looks great from the outside better than the Velar and would choose it on that alone. I thought the Velar had a very hard interior and uncomfortable the moment I sat in it and thought such a shame. The Macan really does hold it’s value from my experience and from car magazines my diesel Macan sold to the dealer for 54k back on the forecourt 56,995 not all of the porsche line hold this value.At the end of the day its personal choice and everything else is irrelevant
      Enjoy your car happy motoring.
