I know thing about wasps if you’re having trouble approaching a nest and getting set up if you hold your breath you’re invisible to them as long as you don’t breathe out and aren’t emitting any carbon dioxide they can’t see you
In the future, if you have to clear out wasps/hornets, and don't have a taker for the nest, most chickens will eat the brood out of a cleared wasp nest. 👍Keep being awesome!
This was exactly what I was going to say! Excellent comment! I've seen so many videos of people feeding their chickens with the wasp nest. Just give 'em the whole thing. ☺️
Eli is so brave working with the Hornets. It's a pleasure to watch him and the other children grow up and watch them on the farm mucking in. What a beautiful life.
The Hornet King CZcams channel whom I watch regularly answers questions for the viewer. He does hornet nest removal as a living. He has a farm too. He takes the nests home refrigerates them overnight, then cleans them to make sure all the hornets are gone and feeds the larvae to his chickens and a pet squirrel. I watched him remove nests from underground, hanging from trees, inside trees, in ceilings, walls, siding, windows etc. Sometimes he will keep them transplanting them to his farm to see how they grow there nests. I never knew how many types of hornets there are. Please be careful, some types are nastier then others.
Paper wasps are actually super beneficial in the garden, they eat all sorts of veggie killing insects. I'm allergic but I've learned to let them do their thing 😂
That hornet nest looked brutal. They absolutely can and will try to kill you. Bravo for doing that for your neighbors. Can't imagine. Wish I had money for a jar! Only $20??? I just spent the last of my cash on gas and don't get paid until next Thursday lol Hopefully I can snag a few next year ;)
There’s something so heartwarming about watching a Family work on a farm. I love the warmth, teaching and relationship that exists between you, your wife and the kids. So beautiful. May God continue to bless you all and your farm.
Those are bald-faced hornets. It's too bad they can be so aggressive and their stings hurt like heck because they are awesome predators. They eat a ton of caterpillars, aphids, and other garden insect pests. But once you get stung by a couple of them, you don't care anymore about their beneficial properties! Sometimes the juice ain't worth the squeeze LOL!
What I do when I have a wasp nest is spray the nest with a spray adhesive, it takes care of the wasp there, and when the rest of them return they get stuck as well.
You should feed the wasp and hornet larvae to your chickens, hens and turkeys and watch how plump they get ! That’s what the Hornet King on CZcams does !
Eli is an amazing kid! You're doing a great job with your children and so much fun watching them grow up through this channel. Keep being great role models for them!!
Eli you're becoming a beast! You are so strong physically to move the chicken tractor as well as mentally to overcome your fear of the hornets especially after being stung on your face so badly last year. Good job buddy! Keep up the good work 👍
Spray the hornets with Raid or wrap a large bag over the nest and pull it off the branch. I would make a small opening at the top of the bag and spray Raid inside the bag and let them suffocate.
Allways remember, the best time to deal with wasps is early in the morning when they are at their least active. As the temperature increase, they become more active because they are "cold blooded". Also their activity depend to some extend on the amount of light. One can easily take out a nest before sunrise, without hardly any one of them moving. Because wasps don't have a queen, any members that escaped, will return and rebuild the nest. With hornets, destroying the nest will mean the end of the swarm, but it's still less risky to get rid of them when they are less active since some of them may just deside to attack humans an animals in the vicinity. It's very important to "evacuate" a large area to avoid eany risks. "Clever" fools has stepped many times in that disaster because they didn't think proactively.
I learned from my experiece that hornets are pretty much vulnurable at night. Just spraying bug killing chemicals will do. Next morning you just destroy the hive and feed chichens.
what a beautiful family you have, you should be very proud, honored and blessed =w= and what a brave young lad to take on a hornets nest like that to help you even knowing the risks he's going to grow up to be a great gentlemen one day
I am a beekeeper in Bulgaria, Europe and honey sold directly to the customer costs 5-6$ per 2.2 pounds( 1kg ) jar full of pure honey , however we sell big quantities to merchants who pay us around 2.70$ per 2.2pounds( 1kg) of honey and the price stays the same and merchants make good money whereas beekeepers struggle to make a living which is almost impossible and many beekeepers work 2 jobs to feed their families. Sounds good, right? Anyways, I wish you all the best, you seem good-hearted and loving person . Keep going🙂
In the market you won't be able to sell all of your honey , you can sell small quantities but it is impossible to sell a 5-10 thousand 1kg jars. People don't buy much honey and there are people selling honey for very low prices and they have many customers because very few people want quality , most want cheap price and that is why you wouldn't be able to sell it even if you go to the market for months every day
You need to burn the nest. I have learned when I was young that they still can hatch if the nest is not burned completely. I remember my dad talking about that
Yay! I got to the store quick enough to get some honey. I love watching your family grow together on the farm you have built. Thanks for producing such lovely content!
Great video guys - I gotta say, I LOVE the parts where Eli gives a "to camera" interview about the hornets - he is so grown up now - I would love to see more and more of Eli and Uraiah doing "to camera" pieces like that - it gives a whole new scope of content from their point of view which is something your viewers would love, I am sure. Thankyou for sharing with us xx
Thank you everyone for a beautiful video today it was so interesting with the wasp Hive, CZcams need to notify me a lot faster so sad to see that the honey has sold out! Better luck next time. Keep those awesome videos coming.
The wasps are enormous. And hornets!! It is my understanding, that wasps and hornets can sting over and over and over; unlike bees that are unfortunately kamikazi stingers. So yes, that was scary to me as well, but your suits were great. I love your innovations. I follow others that are proud of their brand new expensive big giant gasoline generators, and you just keep finding these amazing solar equipment. Its impressive. I would tell my other channels about your stuff but I find most people appear to be annoyed by those sort of comments. I wish I could do a blanket recommendation to the others. One guy has to have the City Light Company come out and run lines for lights to his out-buildings and for lights for all his hobby/pet animals (not-for-eating or milking: Longhorns and Ostriches and Goats) at night. I want to tell him there is a much better and more economical way, but he is one who is enraged by suggestions. He thinks people are insulting him. Lucky for him he has many more redeeming qualities. rofl Yall have a great weekend. P.S. The Honey Harvest Hut is a great idea. Screens on the windows.
Yeah, they can sting repeatedly, this year was black wasps on the front of my trailer, normally its the yellow jackets on the trailer. But yeah, they'll actually intentionally go after you too. My kid recieved 3 different stings on his hand from one yellow jacket. Theres also a bumble bee nest under my shed but those guys usually don't bother anybody so its only the wasps that usually gets sprayed and the nest knocked down to avoid my own kids and the neighborhoods kids from getting stung.
I am waaay late to get some honey. I did so enjoy watching the family all work together to get all the jobs done. Will have to be quicker next time! Love to all. Keep those videos coming. ❤️
Just the fact that you researched with HORNET KING is fabulous! I've been following Brett for a few years now! :) Those looked like Bald Faced Hornets at first glance. Glad you got some good honey!
If you don't plan on using the Hornets or larvae as animal food, pack a pipe full of powdered Sevin pesticide dust, hook the opposite end to an air compressor and blast the inside of the nest with the powder at night. The nest will be dead in less than an hour.
Any time we have handled this type of thing with wasps, we got everything set up, then at dusk when they are all inside we do the removal...much less dangerous.
Its better to work with wasps/hornets at night or just before dawn. Better to use a 13 gallon garbage bag with a little gas or ether in the bottom and pull the whole nest out of the tree.
I would love a jar of your honey, but I can't figure out how to find the information. I'm sure I am too late, but maybe next time. Love to watch your family grow. Thank you, Cheryl
For the wasps, yourself with the vacuum cleaner and another person with a large garbage bag. Vacuum the wasps while the other person puts the bag around the nest. Pull it down and move it somewhere else. Only takes a minute and it's done. You could even release the wasps in the vacuum if you wanted to. Just an idea for you.
I had a friend that found a hornets nest in the middle of winter. They cut it down and put it in an ice chest thinking it was empty and put it in their apartment. Lol,they opened the ice chest...and ran! Lots of pissed off hornets sprang out of that chest.they tossed some bombs into the apt.and waited until the next day. Now they have a conversation piece.
Eli is growing into a wonderful young man. I have a question. On the cans of hornet spray, it says to do it at night. How come you chose to do it during the day? Would it not have made a difference with such a large nest? I always look forward to your videos.
Great Baldie nest! You have a brave little boy! Way to go, fellas!
The king is here !!
2 weeks ago and it’s got 29 like and 2 comments not including me
all hail the almighty king
I know thing about wasps if you’re having trouble approaching a nest and getting set up if you hold your breath you’re invisible to them as long as you don’t breathe out and aren’t emitting any carbon dioxide they can’t see you
@@farmer9990 That is 100% false.

The Hornet King channel he mentioned feeds the nests to his brood of chickens, turkeys & squirrels.
Out here in northeast India hornet larve is a high price food
@@thirstyboots6711 His chickens love wasp brood!!
I just wait him to feed the chickens 🐓 but he didn’t.😄
Eli is growing into such a brave young man, and not afraid to help his dad out even though he could have received a nasty sting, well done Eli 💪🏻👋🏻🙌🏻
He really is! I would be too scared to do that!
Eli is so brave working with the Hornets. It's a pleasure to watch him and the other children grow up and watch them on the farm mucking in. What a beautiful life.
It’s so good to see people that still place value in the family structure. God bless y’all!

Interesting. I thought squirrels very herbivores. Never knew that squirrels like to eat meat
I had a bald faced hornets nest in my maple tree until a wood pecker found it.
Paper wasps are actually super beneficial in the garden, they eat all sorts of veggie killing insects. I'm allergic but I've learned to let them do their thing 😂
those looked like bald-faced hornets, one of the nastiest varieties.
Just wanted to say Becky is awesome. She looks great and is a hard working momma of 4. Beautiful family. I enjoy watching y’all
Why is watching him vacuum the hornets so satisfying.
I'm allergic to bees and this black and white hornet would kill me instantly so this was very interesting to watch
That hornet nest looked brutal. They absolutely can and will try to kill you. Bravo for doing that for your neighbors. Can't imagine.

I’m glad to see everything is going good, I hope the bees will be safe this winter!
So scary. That’s how I get rid of spiders inside my house, vacuum them up. So brave with wasps, though.
Wow…the honey went fast!!
Eli is growing up into a helpful preteen. Hugs, Doc❤

You can freeze the nests in large trash bags when you clear them out! Chickens love eating the brood too.
What I do when I have a wasp nest is spray the nest with a spray adhesive, it takes care of the wasp there, and when the rest of them return they get stuck as well.
Not in a million years I will get near that nest, Elli is a very brave kid, good work Elli 👍
Nice video, your son did great working with the hornets.
Thanks, Tandy!

I love that channel!
Sold out! Congrats!
You were hacking at that honeycomb like a child cutting his own hair😂 Try going slowly using the wood as a guide.
You guys are so lucky to have such a brave, brave helper with the hornets!!! 😀

Shame had to get rid of the bald faced hornets, one of the least aggressive and actively kills bad garden bugs.
I learned from my experiece that hornets are pretty much vulnurable at night. Just spraying bug killing chemicals will do. Next morning you just destroy the hive and feed chichens.
Carfeful with those bald faced hornets, they are ANGRY and can squirt venom into your eyes.
Your boys are growing so quickly. It’s wonderful watching you all grow. Love you guys.
Yay! You got the hot knife!! Don't you just love it?
Next time you have to take a hornet nest down, give the nest to your chickens!!! They will eat the larvae.
It amazes me how so many can fit in such a small nest/space
Yeah, exactly!
Oh man... those looked like Bald Faced Hornets, they are nasty. We usually wait until dark and put a plastic bag over the nest, seal it up...
wow you had some professional helpers jarring that honey :)
Honey ordered! Thank you all for that!
what a beautiful family you have, you should be very proud, honored and blessed =w=
and what a brave young lad to take on a hornets nest like that to help you even knowing the risks

Oh my gosh, that was scary. Their sting is extremely painful. KUDOS To You for helping others. (I ordered a jar of honey)
Please take care and be safe
Y'all are such hard workers. I'm allergic to bees but I plant stuff for them in my garden.
That was impressive. I am motivated to try new things even if they’re scary thanks to your videos !
Isaiah is so cute ! He really articulates well. ❤
Thanks, Darlou
