@@yuhkirby2754 We tried it for years. It just didn’t happen for them. We needed a legit second star. I thought, for a moment, that might be Nurkic. But you’ve heard the same thing I’ve heard for years: “Portland can’t attract big stars because they are a small market”.
Think about Denver. That whole team was basically built through the draft. Hell, even Boston was built through the draft (by fleecing the Nets).
I’m not sure what the answer is. It would be sad if the Blazers never win a chip in my lifetime. Weak af.

@leeartlee915 CJ proved he could be that second star, he was always performing in the playoffs. They needed a real third star tho, after Nurkic foot snapped it’s way to Tokyo on that injury they needed a 3rd star
@@adrienbarrier5708 You and me are in agreement. It wasn’t going to be super team or anything but I really thought Nurkic, before that injury, could give us a punchers chance. And the proof is kind of in the pudding. Blazers made it to the WCF that same year.
But the Warriors were still the Warriors. They were always in our way. So there is that.

Raptors were a historically great defensive team, it would’ve ended in 4 or 5 games. No different than the WCF. It would be refreshing to see a non-Warriors finals though for sure.
