4:44:06 Definitely the funniest part of the stream. Always a great joy to see Mike in tears! 😂😂😂
Mike, in Lego racers, you can build your own kart, which is the "lego" aspect of it. Also, the way the items work is the colored bricks give you an item, then the white bricks upgrade that item up to 3 teirs
that build mode music is iconic
4:01:04 - I literally spit out my coffee when you were like “goven’er” lol 😂
It’s how everyone feels after playing Gex.
For Nightmare Creatures, I would recommend the PS1 version, because the screen looks so dark and drowned out on the N64. On PS1 you don't get that annoying screen text, and the controls are better. Definitely use your subweapons, as you do get a lot, to add variety to combat. There's also weapon upgrades to your main weapon if you can find them. Saving keeps track of your lives (those bloody hearts in the top right screen) so don't be too reckless. That blue meter on the left is your adrenaline meter, basically if you don't kill enemies for a long time, it'll deplete and you'll die. You can also strafe and block, which is important for boss fights. (you quit right before the first boss)
That RC car chase scene with Dirty Harry is hilarious if you haven't seen it.
For some reason Glover scared the crap outta me back then! 😆 Rampage 2 was good fun especially co-oping
Winback's so cool.
We only got a few games with aiming like this. The laser stop & pop just has a level of strategy and satisfaction to it. Especially with the sound! This, RE4, MGS2-3, and Cold Fear are the only few that come to mind.
Winback! Winback! Winback!🎉
ManBaby Network is where I go for all my ManBaby gaming needs.
When ever James comes out with a video it's about 2 weeks later from when Mike posted playing it....just an observation.
AVGN behind the scenes gameplay
Mike name is credited in AVGN video.
they borrow their games from each other
James doesn’t play the games anymore
@@DH-pp2vlwrong
Nightmare creatures is the BOMB. just turn off the stupid meter that makes you rush
this was my first time playing it really. I didn't know where to go at first haha. But yeah it seems cool. I'll probably end up playing it more in the future.
I didn't know you could toggle the adrenaline meter off. It never bothered me too much, even on hard mode, but I could see it becoming a problem if you get lost in a level.
4:43:53 Mike as a 007 agent 🤣
If you plan on doing a playthrough of Winback you should play the PS2 version the graphics, controls and gameplay is way better in the version.
Maybe. We’ll see if it works on my modded ps2. It can be finicky
Thanks for playing Glover!
Winback is one of the best games on N64. You do a tactical roll by holding z+a while moving.
Your handgun has infinite ammo, so don't do dumb stuff like waste shells or extended clips on crates or normal guards.
Yes!! Love Mike’s variety streams!
I just got back into SNES gaming. I’d love to see you do another SNES variety stream soon.
Curly got the ladies it's a fact
Yep Nyuk Nyuk Nyuk Hey Moe
Seeing you play Hexen took me back. I remember spending hours playing all the Hexen and Heretic games. I believe there were 5 or 6 in the series between 94 and 98. I may even still have a copy of one of them.
Glover is a childhood classic!
N64 has some great games, no doubt; some of the best of all time even, but I think overall, it just falls short as a great follow-up to NES and SNES.
But it makes sense, considering game devs were moving from 2D to 3D and there was a lot of change and experimentation happening. It’s a shame Castlevania never really found great footing in the 3D realm.
I agree for the most part, although I'm okay with Castlevania not getting a good 3D game, There's just so many good 2D castlevania games.
Dezaemon 3D is actually a create your own shoot em up game. The series is pretty righteous--it goes back to the Famicom--which had a full-on sprite editor and music composition component! edit as video played on: ...oh you caught on to that fact.
The whole Stooges discussion reminded me of Mike’s dream about meeting the Stooges in high school, from the Total Carnage episode of J&MM 😂
2:48:58 lmao!
I’d like to see you and Erin play South Park Chef’s Luv Shack lol
How many people actually bought Glover back when it was new? As weird of an idea as it is, it's more original than most of what we get now.
We got it new I am sure, I remember having the box, but I was 9 and couldn't figure out what the hell to do so I hated it, also maybe thought it a bit creepy like Mike said in that over world area. I like a lot today's games that aren't in the MMO/Battle Royale sorts of thing, don't like playing online, but I wish I could make my kid self smarter to enjoy games like Glover more when they were the new thing. Its not not I never beat anything though then, I remember Star Fox on SNES was something I beat a lot and GoldenEye Agent difficulty, lol. If it wasn't for the internet I wouldn't beat as many games as I do now even when I am stuck sometimes. But as an adult I am much more patient and better at figuring things out much like most people.Funny enough Glover was the name of my middle school, its named after one the people who founded the city I am from.
Also 3:11:00-3:12:17 🤣
Fun Fact: You can unlock a whole bunch of playable Characters for Operation winbacks Multiplayer Mode by either beating the game on different difficulties and/or achieveing a high score number. Some have characters have unique weapons or abilities.
Also there was a PS2 port.
Just once I want to see Mike put a controller through his TV
The 3 games I would most want you to try out (not even necessarily play on stream, just try out, or look at videos in your free time, that kinda thing) are:
1) Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction (PS2, Xbox, GC)
2) God of War (PS2 from 2005, and re-releases, but not the newer 2018 game, which they absurdly named "God of War" just like the first game)
3) X-Men Origins: Wolverine (360, PS3, PC)
I really think you'd enjoy all 3 games, and they all have very similar styles. God of War is the progenitor of the basic gameplay mechanics of the other two, as well as of Dante's Inferno. With the Hulk one, there also a lot of sandboxy stuff, just roaming around if you're not doing a mission, wreckin' shit for fun.
There's something magical about the whole atmosphere in the atlantis world. Apart from that I remember glover being very hard in an annoying way.
If you like racing with insane stages and sets, the two to play are Beetle Adventure Racing and Hydro Thunder!
Fighters Destiny was one of my favorite fighting games to throw in at a party. Quick, fun action. Very strategic for a fighting game
3:58:43 Gex : Enter the Gecko on ps1 is the second Gex
I love robotron
I respect Mike's opinion on Majoras Mask time mechanic, ifs not for everyone 😅 for me I love it, it helps me at managing things! :D
3:20:02 Yeah, I played Winback on Nintendo Switch Online, for the first time. I never played or heard of it, I had the same issue, but overall I do like it so far. I can't believe there's a PS2 version.
The cutscenes can be skipped by mashing the start button in the PlayStation version of Rayman 2, Mike. It's the only version with skippable cutscenes. Perfect, like you want it, haha.
Got some great memories of Gradius III on the SNES! Loved to hear that get a shout out.
Nightmare Creatures is fun you eventually get upgrades for the characters and there is cheats for it like invincibility and play as the monsters
I know Mike and James weren't fans of N64, but for me it's pretty enjoyable. It's not like a great game or anything, but it has a pretty cool atmosphere for an early N64 game, and I always have fun replaying C64 and Legacy of Darkness.
Just watched your Orcs Must Die 3 stream. Great game and stream. If you press Y in the mission select menu you can change the difficulty and redo the stages to get more skulls btw. In the second war games stage you have to barricade the right side because the boss always comes down the left and that bosses power is that he break barricades so it’s much easier to deal with him that way. If you haven’t played Neon White check it out. It’s a 3D platformer with short stages and replay ability . It has story but you can fast forward through it. Sunset Overdrive is also incredible if you’ve never played it and it has some tower defense elements. You may find it over the top corny at some points but it has the some of the best open world movement I’ve ever played. Really fun game. Lastly Humanity is a pretty cool puzzle game I think you may like. I recall really enjoying your Burnout and Timesplitters streams if you could maybe revisit them or try other games In those franchises?
I want to do timesplitters more for sure. I didnt know i could change the difficulty for orcs must die 3. Thats helpful, thanks.
@@mikematei looking forward to the streams! Not sure if you have gAmepass but there are some great games on there and it’s def worth trying out for a month. Especially since you stream both pc and console.
What about Oregon Trail 64?
27:10 you did it... back to your amagon stream from a year ago, you said you need ti make a liat of good n64 games.. a year later you did it 🎉
Mike, i think you might really like Sigma Star Saga for Gameboy Advance. You roam around different planets fighting ground based enemies and collecting power ups, and are randomly beamed up into shmup levels
Thanks MIke!
I believe there's a arcade difficulty option in Gradius III on Super Nintendo, which is basically the very hard difficulty that matches up with the arcade version.
Not sure if you played them, but both Mystical Ninja starring Gorman and Goemon's Great Adventure are awesome N64 games that I really enjoyed.
There is also Hydro Thunder and Shadowman which are good, but both were ported to Dreamcast with better visuals so you might check them out on that system.
Glover looked cool! Never played that one before
AVGN behind the scenes gameplay
Oh man, you should definitely do a stream like this going through lots of PS1 (Playstation) games
I love these variety streams and the new logo
I remember renting Nightmare Creatures when I was around 7 or 8 years old. I remember it was pretty hard and confusing. Strong, memorable atmosphere though.
So the next AVGN is going to be a compilation of N64 games.
played Nightmare Creatures on pc back in the day
Curly
Honestly I've never seen that star soldier game.. I'm not the greatest at shooters but that looks kinda good
Awww man I wish I would have been there for the Glover stream. I owned that game and loved it, played through it multiple times and know it inside and out. The first few levels I think don't do that game any justice. Hoping one day you decide to do a full playthrough 😂
The loco bandito was funny.
I remember kinda wanting Glover when I was a kid. Then I read a tepid review (I ‘think’ in Nintendo Power), & it changed my mind. I forgot all about Glover until this video. It looks like something I would’ve enjoyed.
Yeah I was under the assumption that it was a bad game. Its actually fine.
I thought I was the only one who had Glover.
GODDAMN IT NERD! still watching Galacticon! HALFGOD! HALFMACHINE! 1SCREEN!
Cool vid
Body harvest please
Pretty sure all the Stooges were married already by the time they started being noticed
I have a Cruis'n Exotica cabinet at home. This N64 version looks very low res by comparison.
PS1 dino criss 2
Now I want Mike & Jon St John to hang out and have tequila together.
(Was there always no stage music in Duke64?)
Love winback love ur new wall look
dabs in your inventory is Health .8
Mike could cosplay The Joker w/o clown makeup. Actually he might need to get some sun first.
If i lay out in the sun for a month maybe ill get to be like the joker
nnnNNNNeeeEEEEEE WHATS UP DOOOCCCCC!!!
I was searching on CZcams and seen you like to play old classic Zelda games. I was wondering if you would be up for the challenge and willing to try my homebrew game hack of "The Legend of Zelda" for the NES? The reason I asked this is, I’ve been working on several ROM hacks of the game changing the outer world, shops, item location, Dungeons and more. I'm looking for someone who streams on CZcams who would play a blind run through. I'd like to get the satisfaction of watching someone play through my quests.
They have some challenge and will make you think at times. Can be a little tricky as well. I want to let you know I used a Zelda Randomize ROM when making these quest. I wanted to use a couple of the randomize options. You are able to save your quest by using controller 1 and pressing up +A at the same time. Select button swaps through items while playing the game and I used fast text. Let me know if you would be interested in doing a blind run through?
Good Game!
The Gex part was the highlight for me.
I’ll really have to stream a bunch of gex stuff
@@mikemateiYou really do with a British accent.
Ive been waiting for some 007 world is not enough the game is pretty funny 😆
I played duke 64 before playing duke nukem 3d most of what i remember is the addition of explosive shotgun shells just messing around in multiplayer
Mike still hasnt done a stream of tears of the kingdom yet? i know its a long game, but seeing him play a few hours of it would be cool.
I streamed it. I didnt like it.
Wanna see more glover simply cause i gave up on it fast back then
what do you think of the new karate kid game dropping in september 😢
Been a while. N64 !
cra t ures nice ^^
HEY, MATHAI / MATINEE
Hey Mike Curly curly 👇
Shemp, no contest
Mike Matei Draw for us on Mario Paint make that your live event, and ill watch the entire time. Im cool and i will eat cheese puffs.
I spent all day watching this while battling diarrhea.
Can you sell brown bricks shirts please
Please play Hollow Knight!
*sigh* Here I was at one point getting excited to get some nostalgia feelings for Bomberman 64 going since that was one of the games I originally had for N64, played through the single player mode a lot and had many enjoyable multiplayer matches with friends...and then you didn't play it. I understand your reason (since I know for over three years now that you hate unskippable cutscenes) but still...*sigh*.
Rakuga Kids...I remember renting that once. As with all fighting games I rented, went through all the characters once, tried out some special moves...and back to the rental store it went.
That James Bond The World Is Not Enough moment will definitely make my Top 10 Mike moments of 2024 list XD.
I just hope you are OK at the moment since you have not streamed in two weeks now.
Optimistic outlook: you are just busy painting your wall, getting those posters back into the Nintendo Powers and coming up with new stuff to put on the walls.
Pessimistic outlook: your carpal tunnel problems you mentioned in your Galacticon stream a while back are really acting up at the moment and causing you too much pain to stream.
I know that you don't have a schedule and you can tell me to just fuck off and mind my own fucking business but I cannot help being a bit worried.
Games that are missing from your Games I've Beaten On Stream list:
-Castle Of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse (2013 remake) (PC): czcams.com/video/1wOxLTT9v-0/video.html
