Great review. I recently purchased these and I totally agree with you about the power button. I find it takes too long to turn on. I do like them. The call quality sucks. I really don’t know how to use the noise cancelling.
First, thank you for the lovely comment! Just tested the HD 450. The HD 450 run on the quiet side, but it has a decent dynamic range: quiet when quiet, loud when loud, although not too loud. There’s also a bit of a hiss for me at times, especially noticeable at low levels. That might just be my set, though. If you want loud, these aren’t as loud as others. (Personally, I’m ok with that: too loud will ruin hearing.) The QC35 (and 45) is hands down better. While I haven’t done a strict side-by-side comparison, I think the Bose are better in most respects, except for the lack of aptX and aptX LL support. I don’t have a pair of QC35 anymore to test, however the QC45 are similar in most technical redirects, including sound quality. I generally prefer Bose for comfort, sound, calls/mics, controls, case, and while wearing glasses over the HD 450. I prefer the codecs, battery life, and looks on the HD 450. Haven’t tested the JBL

Hi Jovan, thanks for the EXCELLENT question! It’s no bother at all. You’re right about the 458BT and the 450BT being the same thing with different colors. The big differences between the 4.50BTNC and 450BT are as follows: - Ear Pads - they’re wider in the 450, but the 4.50 has better passive noise reduction - Sound - it’s more smooth, relaxed, and open in the 450; it’s louder and more exciting in the 4.50 (which has a neodymium magnet). - Battery on the 4.50 is 25 hours and on the 450 is 30 hours. - microphone - the 4.50 has a noise cancelling microphone; the 450’s microphone picks up EVERYTHING - weight - the 4.50 is 221.1g. The 450 is 238g - the 4.50 Supports Bluetooth pairing using NFC, but only uses Bluetooth 4. The 450 uses Bluetooth 5 - Codecs - The 450 has aptX Low Latency - Connector - The 4.59 uses microUSB. The 450 uses USB-C. If you can find the 4.50 for a lot less, you’re giving up a little battery life, aptX Low Latency (for movies and games, especially on Android) and using an older Bluetooth version, but you’re getting louder sound that’s arguably a bit more exciting (and not as warm), better microphones, and slightly better sound blocking. these Sennheiser's HD 450BT's are 129 ( Canadian ) 95 ( USD ) for black friday....i just need a set for watching netflix and my ipad for movies and utube....the noise cancellation and calls are not important but good sound is ....would these be a good buy ?....cheers from Canada
I know this is old but I honestly prefer the 450BT the M50xBT were okay clear sound if your looking for something that has the highs in volcals. But they were very cheaply made. I owned mine for about 4 month and they had already stopped working/charging, my only use was too and from work. Your mileage may very. but the 450BT seems like a better build quality

Thanks for the question, Rokn. That man you describe sounds a lot like my own father, so I can speak closely to this. Also, I literally own all of these. The HD 560S are magnificently detailed. (I actually just bought these myself.) They’re also open backed. That may be good or bad, but when it comes to watching TV, I tend to almost always prefer wireless for most people. The 910N does have a lot of bass, and may not be the best for TV for that reason. This may encourage him to listen too loudly. It’s a fun sound, to be sure, but it may be overwhelming at times. But this is modifiable via the EQ. Beyond the bass, the sound is OK, but I’m not a fan of it. I enjoy these because of the bass, but not for movies. The XM4 is the best of the bunch. It has decent sound, and it’s comfortable, plus blocks noise. But it’s a bit muddy in the mids, meaning speaking voices may be lost. The 450 for $120 feels too expensive for me, but it may have the best overall sound for him for this situation. However, while I liked the comfort, a lot of people dislike it, so caveat emptor. If ANC is not necessary, and closed back is OK, consider the JBL Tune 710BT. If you can find it, a better option might be the AKG K371 (or K361 if ANC isn’t needed), which gives a fantastic overall sound for about the same price as the 910N, but which you might be able to find lower. As for my father, he’s a little hard of hearing, so sound quality is less relevant than comfort. He liked the HD450BT, but tends to prefer softer pads like the XM4 or K371. Let me know what you decide on. Best of luck.

Both. You have to turn them off, then plug them in to charge, then turn them on, and you can use them. If you plug them in while they’re on, they won’t register as having started charging.

Got these yesterday and wondered why the red charge light only came on when plugged into computer and not into a charger to outlet or even a USB port on the outlet. Is this normal? Are they charging even if the red light doesn't come on?
@@NorbReviews I've had them for two weeks and have only had to charge them once. It's showing as 90% charged. When my Bose 35 II worked, they went down at least 10% every time I went out with them.
Edit: I misunderstood your statement. I would *not* recommend these over the XM4. If you want something that’s more clear, and if you can make the jump, the Sennheiser Momentum 4 is a worth upgrade. I’ve also been trying Edifier headphones recently and they do have a very clear sound. The WH950NB would be what’s around this same price range, but I haven’t tried those myself, just the WH700NB and WH820NB.
I wouldn’t buy them for full price anymore, full stop. While they’re not bad if you can find them at a steep discount (under $100), I think you get better bang for the buck from something like the SoundCore Life Q30 or Q35. Also, if you’re OK with refurbished, I’m a big fan of the Secondipity store on eBay (which is basically Sony’s refurb arm at this point). I recently got a pair of WHXB910N’s from there for $80 and they were a fantastic deal. Finally, if the $200 price point is where you’re looking, take a look at Best Buy: I think they were recently clearing out their Master & Dynamic MW65’s for $250. I absolutely adore those.

Both.
You have to turn them off, then plug them in to charge, then turn them on, and you can use them. If you plug them in while they’re on, they won’t register as having started charging.
