I decorate for the seasons. Spring is always nice with beautiful flowers and fresh greenery but Autumn is my favorite season. Looking at fall colors with oranges and golds brings such a sense of calm for me.

OH my gosh, a Spring box would be delightful. You could include things like your favorite garden gloves, small tools, garden journal etc. We are all anxious for Spring by late February.
Kindred Spirits would be a great name for any future liquor...a play on words and a connection to your videos.

Wow, I remember the bayberry candle saying from when I was a young child. My aunt gave my mother a bayberry candle with the saying attached to it. Nice memory for me.

Irish box for St. PADDY'S Day would be fun and so much in store's is tacky and plastic, so it would be nice to have quality Irish tea, a nice woven hat or scarf of tartan style, a shamrock charm, scones, maybe quality of garden seeds of heather, shamrock plant, etc. A "romance box" for St. VALENTINE'S Day. etc. Would be fun too.

I loved my gift to me of New England Christmas In A Box, my hubby got a kick of me wrapping and opening it with him on Christmas. We each buy our own gift and wrap it from each other without knowing what the gift is! We have done this for several years and we have so much fun not knowing what we bought each other.
We started off 2024 with a hospital stay for my dear hubby but with meds and life changes he will be fine.

Drapes/blinds... I too live in the country with amazing views. I too have stunning windows with beautiful solid walnut trim, our house is far from the road, lots of privacy, why would I cover them ? Besides its more to clean! I have a small farm, lots of animals to care for, 2 huge gardens, several herb gardens, strawberry beds, fruit trees, berry bushes... I dont have time for, what i consider, extra cleaning. Getting up with the sun is amazing❤❤❤

As we each savor the joys of nature, we must also recognize that seasonal changes can bring so much joy and opportunity for beautiful sunrise and sunset photos. Thanks for sharing your morning sunrise. All of these little elements of your videos define the Kindred Spirit. Many years ago, I purchased a wooden box in an antique/gift shop. The painting on the front is a bucolic farm scene with sheep, trees, and a barn. Written in a lovely script on the front is the phrase Kindred Spirits. Little did I know at the time it would ultimately be used entirely for a collection of special items from my departed son, my Kindred Spirit. When I discovered your vlog and the title I knew it would be a place to return to again and again. Thank you for all the hard work you do to make this space a special place, Best Wishes for 2024.

Sure! I have some in past videos, but we hope to do more. Ben and I travel all over to visit them.
I’ve been waiting to hear of all the goodies in the Christmas box. I just saw “winter” peonies in a store yesterday, and they looked awful. The buds were tight and pretty pink, but the outer leaves were brown and dead. Your property will be beautiful over the years.
I don't have a favorite season though Spring brings such joy! My gardens give birth to new life, something different each week it seems. Not sure how to capture that in a box but I'm sure you could figure something out.
Sitting here with a cup of coffee,just finished watching (enjoyed the longer video but the way) spent yesterday getting ready for the storm, three inches and counting so far where I am on the coast of Maine. Lots of wood for the wood stove, prepared to loose power but hope we don’t. Hope everyone gets through the storm in good shape, for those who are in its path. Happy New Year to all. 🌝

What a wonderful video ! l used to watch your video bf l would go to sleep , but 9 times out of 10 your soothing voice would lull me to sleep bf the video was done. Now, l watch first thing in the am . Walking up to your video with a cup of coffee is a wonderful way to start the day. 🥰

Good morning Linda, so excited to have coffee with you this morning. Loved seeing the Christmas box. In answer to your question: Fall and Christmas are wonderful and make me homesick. BUT do not OVER burden, yourself. That is first priority. As I was watching the telling of the box I thought , will we be able to get that on line at your store? ....... Did not know that about bayberry candles. .....I loved making the applesauce ornaments, stars, orange slices, learning to air out my bed, muffins, and holiday decorating. My biggest thrill was hearing how you watched Laura, from Garden Answer.! Both of your you tubes helped get me through covid, surgery and life. THANK YOU, so very much. Be well, and rested. Can't wait for what you have in store for 2024! Enjoy your snow, we are just have cold and rain.

Dear Linda ; Happy Sunday morning , Mother Nature is so generous with her sights and sounds . I love making huge Bitter Sweet wreaths . And Pine needle pillows with my live Christmas tree. The pillows keep their smell for years ! Hope your mom is on the mend and your daughter too.

HAPPY NEW YEAR🎉 I love Pansies. I was curious about how much cold they could tolerate so I looked it up and here is what I learned......Pansies grow best at a temperature range of 45-65°F, but they can withstand temperatures as low as -10°F. The foliage will survive at low temperatures, but the flowers will start to wilt when the temperature drops below 25°F. It is best to protect the plant when the temperature drops below 20°F. ❤

We are having an identical day..upstate NY snow storm 8-12 inches (depending on the tract😂)..did all the groceries/wood ..fire going and putting away xmas..as for the bittersweet I have the same love hate relationship as you...bittersweet is great for fall deco but as for the rest of the seasons it just chokes everything off and kills it..(although the curly twisty vines are great for wreath making 😜) Charles Dickenson!! Absolute favorite!❤

Hi Linda - A longtime gardener here passing along some tried and true info. The ONLY way to get rid of any unwanted plant is to dig out the whole root system OR treat with Roundup or a brush killer herbicide. Please try this in the spring when you see regrowth on the bittersweet you have cut back.
Thank you Kathleen! The roots are well under the fieldstone wall. Last year I broke down and bought a product to brush onto a fresh cut stem to hopefully kill, but I was concerned the contents. This year, I think I am going to go for it and make sure any edibles are no where near where I treat or in raised beds with a bottom barrier.

I have weird mutant snapdragons that come back every year and spread to other parts of the beds. I let them do their thing because they are a favorite. It is cold and snowy in NE Ohio and they are still green!

It is so sad to take down the Christmas decor. Takes me forever. I have so many ornaments on our tree, probably over three hundred, so it is quite a chore. My favorite tale for the holidays is Dickens A Christmas Carol so I really like your book choice for the box. Look forward to the New Year with you and seeing what you share. Good morning, Linda! When I found you, it was too late to try to get the Christmas box. I absolutely loved everything in it! I would be interested in trying to purchase every box you put out and I think one for spring would be fabulous! I plan on purchasing the vanilla as I love to bake! We did not get a big snowstorm in my area of CT last night, maybe a couple of inches, but beautiful just the same and have some flurries coming down now as I write this. ❤
I’m a senior so am on a limited budget. However, I would dearly love to purchase one of those beautiful Christmas boxes. The Fall box would be my next favorite. I love the items you chose!

The Christmas box is so good. I have the book (thrifted) and bought it because of the interesting art. You have to get a video of Willow's first shoes experience! Hi! Linda! You were talking about cleaning out your forest area. You might want to look into having your forest area managed by I believe the state of NH. They will clean out out the area, lumber some of the wood and you get a tax credit. It'll save you time and money. My cousin has a place in Deering and has been doing this for years. Just a suggestion that you might want to look into.

Happy New Year, Linda. Enjoy the snow! I have a trick I want to share for storing Christmas bows. Get some hangers with clips, usually used for pants, and clip the bows from the back, or from the wire if they have one. The streamers can then flow down, unwrinkled. Each year I store them in a closet with other Christmas items. It helps to see them and to remember which bows were used where from year to year. Your garage/ barn plan sounds exciting. You talked about, “the hyphen”, a while ago, but this is a bigger plan for more space to accommodate your business. You will love your food saver. I use mine quite a bit. Buy on sale and preserve for up to a year. I can see all the wheels turning in your head as you approach a new year laid out before you!

I see Willow in her blaze orange vest. You must have hunters in the area! I live surrounded by PA state game lands and take daily walks on an abandoned railroad bed. We are a big hunting state….blaze orange is a MUST. Even on private property (with permission), people hunt there 😉
PS you can use toilet paper rolls to roll your ribbon tails 💡
