I'm 49 years old and 3 days ago a friend gave me a guitar and so far I've learnt (with his help) to play the intro to Stand By Me. I'm actually ok at it although my finger tips are numb lol. One day soon, I hope to be as good as this guy. Thanks mate, you rocked it.

I started learning about 6 months ago, after the first month or month and 1/2, your fingers won’t feel that way anymore. I also had the numb fingers when starting, it goes away and you develop thicker skin on your finger tips. Can’t wait to learn this one. Cheers

This is a great fingerstyle piece to learn, can be tough getting used to playing a melody and bass line at the same time. Hopefully it opens up the joy of fingerstyle to you! 😊
@@SimpleGuitarTabsCZcams if I do learn it, it'll probably be the only one. The very concept alone makes me think it's hard as hell. I think the best way to attack this is to learn the bass first (luckily I have an acoustic bass), learn the melody second, and once I'm comfortable with both separately try and connect the two.

Thanks, i always worry about my sound. I'll give you a list of what i use: Guitar - Altamira N200 Audio Interface - Motu M2 Mics - Rode NT5 Matched Pair Then i use Reaper as a DAW and my reverb is called Pheonixverb. I record with an XY pattern about 45/50cms from the guitar.

Thanks again! It is indeed a very tough rhythmical concept to get your head around, i like to think of the bass and the melody as one thing, not two seperate parts (even though they are technically). Slow it down, drop off some of the harder bass notes, and definitely memorize the section. Goodluck 😋

Yea, playing melody and bass line at the same time is hard for beginners. You can start with the only bass line and follow along. Slowing the video down to 0.75x is also helpful. After you nail that bass line, you can play the melody. With enough practice, you'll be able to play the entire song. It's all about practice.
Hey! Don't get disheartened if you're struggling, especially with my last two songs. They are particularly difficult because of the bass and melody playing like mentioned in the comment above. You can always play just the main melody, or leave out a bass note here and there to make it more manageable 😊

Yeah, it's because of the bass and melody being played together. Here you could leave out the melody/bass or play the main melody with fewer bass notes 😅
