Well since you haven't seen godzilla he is, yes, VERY powerful, king of the monsters, god titan, destroyer, king of the earth surface, radioactive abomination, killer of titans. Either way he is the true show of a god monster.

There was a video camparing regular Godzilla and Shin Godzilla. I would find it and comment on it, however that would be even more futile than commenting on it here. Therefore, I at least want to educate some people. You see, Shin Godzilla is factually stating the strongest Kaiju ever depicted by the modern media. That is because it can mutate, or in it's case, evolve into a strongest form. It is a collection of micro organisms that try to turn it into it's most powerful form. At the end of the Shin Godzilla movie, it is stated that they only deafeated it because it did not have time to evolve into it's most powerful form, since humans froze it with extremely cold coolants, such as liquid nitrogen, or liquid oxygen. Also, it's name means "The true form of God".
It's fax I used to be a fan of kaijus especially Godzillas but throughout my experience of 5 years of kaijus I can definitely say that shin Godzilla is the strongest Kaiju out there and not to mention it has infinite evolutions therefore there will be a form in which it adapted to everything and heck if shin wasn't frozen in time he might have actually conquered the world and probably go to other planets if he had evolved more.

And for the origin, in Japan the original was 1954 , the name there was âGojiraâ whale+gorilla
He was a message about 1945 nuke and their attack , he was a message of Nuclear warhead
And the price of them as we learn it killed his species in a book but to him .. a monster . A abomination ,now he seemed revenge of their bombs and nukes and fighting, so he rises up and attacks Japan (Tokyo )
