The only real issue, as I understand it, is that he's 6'1". He would be on the very small side for an NBA player. If you're 6'1", you basically have to have point guard level ball skills and run the point. Even for a shooting guard, 6'1" is way too small. He would have to be a solid point guard to ever start in the NBA, imho.

I have a theory that was sparked by LeBron’s appearance at the Cavs’ game. Bron showed his name is still good in CLE so LAL trades for Mitchell using the 17th pick. CLE uses that pick to draft Bronny and now have another “LeBron James” in CLE. Creates a great story for the franchise and opens up another follow up story if Bron finishes his career in CLE after 2 more years in LA (hopefully capturing another title).

Nobody mentions that even though it’s a huge risk on Bronny’s future it’s a very smart IQ play from the James family. Lebron Sr. has (from what the narrative) control and leverage over the Lakers organization to theoretically get whatever he desires and to help out Bronny and himself the best that he can. I ultimately think that if everything aligns with the coaching to the potential trades in the offseason, especially if the Lakers go through and draft Bronny or he gets drafted by another organization before the Lakers can get him, I think Bron actually won’t go play with his son. Both their presence and portrayal send the sports networks and organizations talking and provide monetary gain. It’ll be interesting to see.

Bronny, I both respect and admire you from a distance. I say "from a distance" because I obviously don't know you. But what I see in your public persona is worthy of being respected. You project an air of maturity and composure beyond your years. And that is especially noteworthy being raised in the spotlight of celebrity and in the long shadow of a king. It is because you are running the race of life so well that I'm moved to share a few ideas with you that are dear to me.
There is a psychological window in our growth that is rich in potential for personal development and self actualization. If taken advantage of, it can lead to your being a more well-rounded adult. That window is about age 17 to 24, your college years. And indeed the window is intimately connected to college or university. As full of promise as that window is, the one unfortunate feature about it is once the window is closed it can't be reopened.
During one's late teens and early twenties, you're not a kid, but neither are you an adult. Yes, those years can be turbulent with insecurities in your abilities to meet life's demands, fears of failure, awkwardness in relations with the opposite sex. In this, nature helps us because the mind is more disposed to deal with those existential issues than any other period in life. And there is no better place to work through those issues than in college.
Many would argue, myself included, that the greater value of college is less about academic or vocational education and more about emotional education. And emotional education at its core is about socialization and self discovery. As you undoubtedly are finding out in your first year at USC, you will be meeting people from different walks of life, different countries, different socio-economic backgrounds, different beliefs and world views. The opportunity is there for you to learn social skills that will pay dividends for a lifetime. And if you really have your thinking cap on, you'll learn not to fumble the ball in the presence of knock-dead gorgeous girls 😊.
Who are you, Bronny? No, I'm not talking about the superficial stuff. You are the son of; you live at; you like this, not that. The human psyche can be favorably compared to unexplored country, the discovery of which can be deeply personal and transformative. University is a safe, but dynamic environment to strap on your backpack and start exploring. What are your core values and principles that guide your decisions and actions? College is the place to help you develop and refine them. Uncover your natural talents and skills, as you are so much more than a basketball player. Learn the areas where you struggle and need improvement. Find what you enjoy doing, even without external rewards. Learn how to manage and express your emotions healthily.
Oh, I could go on extolling the emotional benefits of college, but the bottom line is this. University provides experiences at the time the mind or psyche is most ready to learn from them.
Bronny, my hope for you is that you stay in school. Because at the end of the day, you will be a better basketball player -- because you will be a better man.

Professional basketball will be there in 3,4 yrs.. only a handful of men have had the privilege of playing professional basketball. An education gives you something to fall back on,an ace in the hole ⛳ if you will.

Will he choose to sign a massive extension (one that will certainly be offered if the Lakers draft Bronny), or will he bolt to the team that drafts him???

      Maxwell "Bird" Lewis
      Colin "Diesel" Castleton
Harry "I got nothing here" Giles
Skylar "Don't call me Taylor" Mays
I mean LA has been rebuilding on the side since 2020, because they were definitely too old to win the Championship. I mean they did, but who cares about reality any more anyway. The narrative is much more important.
Fact is I can list 15 players under 22 we signed and discarded in the last 3 years. Do you really care if you got Harry Giles or Maxwell Lewis or Bronny on that roster spot? We carried around 5 guys that never played a single minute in a single game that mattered during the phase when the score still mattered in a win now season. Even Max was discarded and benched every single time after giving him some more minutes. What does it matter whether or not we carry around Bronny or not?

    • @peteranders7106
      @peteranders7106 Před 15 dny

@@42pantelis Well, you are wrong. If your premise is that we can't put Bronny on the roster, because it would hurt us, that's just not true. We hurt ourselves with the lack of 2-way players at the 2 and 3 every year. That always moves us from contender down to play-in team.
I don't care about LeBron and he is still helping the Lakers more than he hurts us.
When Chicago fell off and Zach went down Lakers needed to call and offer Gabe, JHS and two 2nd rounders for Caruso and someone they don't need or want to get rid of that very second.
When OGA became available the Lakers needed to call and offer Rui, 1st rounder, remaining 2nd rounder and max Christie as soon as Rui becomes trade eligible.
We are losing around the margins. The difference between play-in and contender is in the ability to create good lineups. We are missing that. We lucked into the 2020 lineup and have done nothing to secure 2-way guys. That's not solely on LeBron. Again, I'm a Lakers fan. I am not a LeBron fan.
We send Zubac off for no reason. We refused to keep McGee to save 2M dollars. We let Caruso walk for absolutely no reason. We treated Thomas Bryant like crap and made him want to leave. We could have still added the right players ever single year, but we have been half rebuilding with starters like Stanley Johnson, Austin Reaves and a host of G-league guys playing major minutes each year. Last Ear we played 45% of our minutes with min vet and G-league players. This year we did less of that but loaded our roster up at PF then convinced the fan base that we got a bunch of wings. In reality we actually got one wing, who can't shoot in Cam and that's it. Prince is a PF. Rui is a PF. Vando is a PF. Castleton is a PF, too. Even Wood is a PF really. Half the team is power forwards on a roster where you know Lebron wants nothing to do with perimeter defense and plays 36 minutes at PF. Plus we got AD.
Roster construction and lineup synergy is the problem. And the front office always dicking around and waiting for that one great move that will fix everything that never comes anyway. If you have three 1st and four 2nd rounders available and you got a bunch of project players on the roster, when your goal is the championship, you are doing it wrong. They won't get Mitchell. They also won't get Trae, not that getting him would matter. We have no money left for anyone else anyway and we have 0 2-way wings who can start. Trae needs those to live just like LeBron does. You get Trae, you can no longer get any wings.
But seriously had they done the right job retooling like NY did, we'd be waiting in the Conference finals right now.
      D'Lo / Caruso / OGA / Lebron / AD
      Dinwiddie / Reaves / Prince / Wood / Hayes
That's a Championship even without Vanderbilt coming back and with Vanderbilt that roster is absolute fire on both sides of the floor. That's easily the #1 defense and still a top 5 shooting team. I don't see anyone beating that not even Boston.
But here we are looking for an overpriced cheerleader to watch Jokic score from the bench and trying to downgrade from D'Lo, so Max and Reaves can be all-stars this year for real for real. Lol
