You need to watch the whole movie , he literally did that because of her and her pushing him all the time. He loved her deeply an tried to be the best for her even if that meant giving up his dream. That's why this whole conversation happened. The end alone will show you how much he loved her and how much he was willing to give up and sacrifice for her.
yes and no…. she didn’t really push into doing that for one he overheard her on the phone with her mom who was asking if he had gotten a steady job yet and it made him feel not worthy of being with her which is understandable so he pushed himself to join the band
Honestly, I’m a little confused as to why you would choose to react to one scene from any given movie. To really understand what’s going on here, you need context and you’re only going to get that from watching the whole film. Please think about doing a reaction to the whole film. It’s one of my favourites and I’m convinced they’re really enjoy it. I love musicals, but it’s so much more than just a musical. Xx

Ah this movie hurts so much. So many life lessons in the ending. The soundtrack is one of my favorites. I hope you watch the whole thing.
