People act like winning a title is easy it's not. It took the Nuggets 47 years to win one. It's not as easy as people keep saying.
Yeah but with Ewing and Embiid, they both have come up short when they had the opportunity to really go full-bore and make a legacy. I think Ewing's a bit over-hated as a "choker" when he was one of the most impactful defensive pieces of his era and like the Admiral was a defensive #1 and an offensive #2. I think the same may be true with Embiid, so if he had someone like Dame or a two-way point guard with him, he might be able to really take the leap and go to the conference finals or even NBA finals.

Broussard did a disservice by forgetting to mention that Patrick Ewing used to guarantee rings, which plastered the back pages of the NY newspapers. The world wasn't nearly as comically ring-centric as it is today, but he added pressure on himself with those guarantees in a hostile city that was starved for that championship. Young people may need that added context.
He also didn’t have remotely close to the help he needed until far too late (Houston and Sprewell). If Starks wasn’t so god awful in that Finals game then Ewing wins in 94

This was Zion's 4th year in the league. He's played a total of 114 games. That's an average of 28 games per year. If this isn't going to get better, he can't be a central piece to build around. One more chance and that's it. He plays really well when he's healthy, but he can't stay healthy for very long because he's got more weight than he can handle. He keeps hammering those knees and those feet with all that weight, so it's only a matter of time until something goes south. He's 6'6" but has the weight of a 7-footer.

Patrick Ewing, to his defense had a healthy MJ and Hakeem to deal with all thru the 90s. Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown aren’t that. Embiid had not had anything close to the juggernaut to deal with, as Patrick did. At least Patrick did lead the Knicks to the Finals once. Even as good as Denver is, I don’t feel they were as good as the 90s Bulls or Rockets. Hakeem ain’t Bam Adebayo.

He should have been getting the proper level of criticism once he reached that point (specifically by you analysts-love to play favorites). Dude, Joel better win a title after whinning so much he didn't get an MVP. This man is a playoff choker and has been able to blame Simmons, Bret Brown, Harden, injuries and now his teammates. When are we gonna blame his God awfull performance? He was getting cooked by Al Horford while being defended well by Horford too. Horford is a veteran in the league and a great players but he shouldn't be able to stop Embiid from backing him down yet he did and made Embiid consistently throw terrible midrange fadeaways when he could've easily taken tge ball to the rim for an easy layup or hookshot like Jok did against Adabayo. The reality is he was either too scared or too mentally frail to do so and it cost him a trip to the finals again because that is the definition of choking.
Just give him to Lakers for AD....since both can't stay healthy and both were drafted by Pelicans, plus ain't like AD getting a long time extension from LA like my boy said on Assassins Creed Odyssey everyone wins lol😂
