The Republic of Ireland is not apart of the UK. But each "kingdom" is it's own country, therefore they have their own anthem's, histories, people, and so on. BTW... The National Anthem is habitually mangled because no-one bothers to learn the words so the words are not sung together but as a sort of linguistic Mexican wave travelling around the stadium. England has the problem that they sing the UK national anthem rather than a patriotic song exclusive to England. The obvious choice 'Jerusalem' has some beautiful but tricky phrasing which does not lend itself to mass singing. It is always nailed in the Last Night of the Proms but that audience is probably less intoxicated and more rhythmically savvy than the crowd at a football match.
