  • Hurdley Hall in Churchstoke, Powys is one of those rare beauties where age, nurture and nature combine to create a truly stunning garden. Against the soaring, glorious backdrop of the Roundton Hill Nature Reserve, daffodils and snake head fritillaries jostle in the breeze and in the summer rows of lavender, deep herbaceous borders, a wild flower meadow, topiary and an orchard create an unforgettable impact. In spring, daffodils, buzzing bee hives and new born lambs herald the glories to come. Join owners Simon Cain and Simon Quin for an early virtual visit.

My wife and I went to see this garden today as part of the ngs open gardens. A really wonderful place. I can not recommended a visit highly enough if the opportunity ever presents itself. P.s Simon if you read this comment just thought you would like to know we found the top two courses of bricks for our well tonight whilst searching in the rain. Thanks for the tour and inspiration.

What a beautiful, relaxed garden. On the edge of looking overgrown in a perfect, romantic way. It takes good eyes to maintain that balance.
    Thanks for sharing with us.

I always feel so sad when I see lambs, their fate is not a happy one (and no I do not eat them.....is that a double negative?!). Beautiful garden though.
