I can't believe those people walk past him like nothing happened. He deserves every bit of their attention. He's doing what people can only aspire to do within their careers of music or fantasies. This dude rocks.
Kinda shakes your faith in humanity seeing this stream of people walking by so caught up in their mundane daily lives, not able to take a few moments to savor something this beautiful.
Am I the only one who gets angry seeing people don't even notice him? people who just stop to listen to him are lucky enough to hear such a masterpiece and notice it, people who walk past are so ignorant. I'd pay him all my money if I walked passed and give him a clap at the end of the song and tell him how happy I am to hear this sweet instrument being played.
i agree!!!, i would do almost anything to just sit and hear this genius play for a day or even an afternoon. i cant seem to comprehend why people don't just stand still in their tracks when they hear the first note, just as many other great musicians/composers, he creates harmony and balance in his music whatever he seems to play... it is just breath taking :D
Wow, once he started to really flare it around 1:40...I just went from wow to....another world. It's like falling into blissful sea of comfort. Beautiful. I could listen to this all day long and just close my eyes, it's weightless and wonderful.
I was in Chester recently, and I heard this wonderful music playing in the distance. I just had to and see this busker playing. I bough two Ed Alleyne-Johnson albums there and then. "Echoes" and Reflections.
I first saw Ed some 20? years ago outside Broadmarsh shopping centre in Nottingham and thought wow then never saw him again till last year in York, stood there for ages the way he gets the violin to "talk" is just sheer genius he is without doubt absolutely bloody fan flippin tastic, ed you rock mate
The songs he plays are very wonderful. there is no any word how to describe his songs .When I listened to the Oxford Suite by Ed Alleyne . I couldn't stop at listening it again. Then, It made me search other songs by Ed. Since then, I have been listening at the songs by Ed Alleyne Ed thanks for your brilliant, unforgettable songs. regards, Zebo
True i was there for like 20 minutes when i went on to York and I was abosulty entranced by his music!, I just wish i stayed there longer i listened to him forever!. I see what you mean also by the people just passing by, this isn't just any kind of music i've heard in my life!
Amazing ... seemed only the children had time to stop and listen .... so many adults seemed totally oblivious to this star musician playing in the street in York.
Absolutely GOBSMACKING cover / performance by Ed!!! Just the whole atmosphere and captivating air about it leaves me utterly flabbergasted, speechless. Wish I'd been there, to take it in, at that very moment. Thank heaven for capturing the moment on video, for people-the-world-over to see... hear... spiritually touch... savour. This is exactly THE kind of thing I would expect from Rice's Lestat as he awakens Akasha. ASTONISHING! Kudos Mr. Alleyne-Johnson, Freightliner66522. 1000/10
I feel sad for those ignorant people walking past like robots, following each other on the road to nowhere. At least we are the lucky one's who have found the joy you get from hearing great music.
we saw u in york on the 13th of september and u blew my mind u where amazing i loved it and i loved the songs that u played i loved the songs with the artists voices in but u made the music come alive and i enjoy it more now that i down loaded you album symphoy i love your work chloe and martin from newcastle
Can’t believe how people just walk past and take no notice of this man just bloody ignorant if you ask me ,I saw him in Chester recently and I’ve already bought four of his cds I love this mans music so much.
If you want to know more about him look up his Facebook page ... and the people are not stopping to listen because they can hear him anytime on the streets of York. They don't know how lucky they are ...
Saw him in York today , awsome . Pink floyd rendition of SHINE ON YOU CRAZY DIAMOND loved it so bought his echoes c d. sadly this track was not on it but what a talent.
@colincrapper Yes kids now do not see live music they do not know what they are missing my daughter is a Trumpet player and I expose her to all music from my youth going back to the 70's she is always amazed at what she hears...CREATIVE MUSIC!
@shaeshe10 he used to record back in the 80's with some goth bands if I remember. According to other videos he busks a lot in Chester. I saw him once.. Brilliant.. Even bought his CD.. Cheers
You are all aware, he's been recorded on Records for over twenty years. He's the main session Fiddle player with New Model Army, but he's recorded loads of albums on his own and with his wife..... He Busks..... Cos he loves to Busk
I actually only started listening to him because another CZcamsr caught one of his performaces on film while demoing a camera, i immediately knew I had to own all his albums. XD
he is not alone. he voluteered to do this. careful, you might end up paying more attention to people ignoring the music and in turn end up ignoring the music yourself.
he is not alone. he volunteered to do this. careful, you might end up paying more attention to people ignoring the music and in turn end up ignoring the music yourself. if you watch carefully, you would notice a family of four who stop in the middle of the street ot pay attention too his music.
Is he still playing in york ? Be in the area in few months time and dont want to miss him . The man is genious (and I want my NMA album signed {:/ ) . Only realized recently he was so good , you take things for granted when your young . If my memory isnt playing tricks he was sh@t hot at Glasgow Barras with the army ! Long time ago
I can understand why he's only in this location once in all the video's posted of him. The crowd has no idea what kind of musical genius that they are in the presence of.
Don't know what it's like for Ed, but if everyone froze in their steps as some of us feel they ought to have, it might've (however slight) impeded the performance, and over all gist, effect, and AFFECT of it. I think it's quite stark and real, the way it naturally took place, unfolded. Ed was, in that very moment, the GOLD most of those passersby failed to SEE (and I don't mean just with their eyes either... if I'm making any kind of sense).
I'd guess it's because people here tend to feel self conscious if there's not already a few people who have stopped to listen. Many people wouldn't want to be the only one standing there. I think that's a pretty busy walking area too. If you look in the distance though I think I actually see someone standing there haha.
Wrong place for a God of the Violin... I can stay for all day listening this amazing performance and plus for free .. i wonder about those humans( i can't call persons bcuz a person stay to listen) how them ignore this performance... i know no one is better or worse... we are just differents ... but for ignore a performance like this you must to be a alien. Not a human .
i understand you comment, but most people seem to just lost their feeling for music, but i probably guess that we can thank the pop music industry for this :P i say lets try to teach people again how to appreciate music by playing it right in there faces the best we can :D (just my way of trying to be positive i guess :P )
I can't believe those people walk past him like nothing happened. He deserves every bit of their attention. He's doing what people can only aspire to do within their careers of music or fantasies. This dude rocks.
this man is amazing, i cannot believe the amount of people that walk by and ignore him!!!!!!!!!!!!1
his loop pedal timing is perfect. when a guy can create a whole score by himself, how can people NOT stop and watch??
Kinda shakes your faith in humanity seeing this stream of people walking by so caught up in their mundane daily lives, not able to take a few moments to savor something this beautiful.
Why aren't people stopping to listen? If I had money to fly to UK and managed to find him I would sit there and listen to him as long as he played.
He is amazing! First time I heard him in Chester, 2013! God... The way he plays is just... wonderful...
Except for a few thoughtful people, the aimless walk as this wonderful instrumental is shared with them....wish I was there.
I'd give my like again if only I could. Revisiting this again after so many years.
Am I the only one who gets angry seeing people don't even notice him?
people who just stop to listen to him are lucky enough to hear such a masterpiece and notice it, people who walk past are so ignorant.
I'd pay him all my money if I walked passed and give him a clap at the end of the song and tell him how happy I am to hear this sweet instrument being played.
i really wonder why none of those people stopped and listened for more because i would have if i had been there...so relaxing and beautiful :)
Fab went to York a few years ago and I was absolutely memorised, just stood there dazed!
for some reason i feel compelled to give this man everything i own. and just sit in front of him and listen
People assume that because he is playing in the street that he is no good---how wrong could you be, simply awsome....
How can people not even take a look at him?
O_O
I'd be there all day listening
i agree!!!, i would do almost anything to just sit and hear this genius play for a day or even an afternoon. i cant seem to comprehend why people don't just stand still in their tracks when they hear the first note, just as many other great musicians/composers, he creates harmony and balance in his music whatever he seems to play... it is just breath taking :D
I normally don't like "classical" music, whatever you want to call it... but i have become completely obsessed with this guy and his electric violin.
I love him and his music...he is amazing...just amazing...pure art...
I bought a cd during the 80-90s
I still remember your music!!!
been lucky enough to see him a few times i could listen to him all day
Wow, once he started to really flare it around 1:40...I just went from wow to....another world. It's like falling into blissful sea of comfort. Beautiful.
I could listen to this all day long and just close my eyes, it's weightless and wonderful.
i am hooked onto this music... it takes me places no other sound has ever taken me.... simply amazing......
I was in Chester recently, and I heard this wonderful music playing in the distance. I just had to and see this busker playing. I bough two Ed Alleyne-Johnson albums there and then. "Echoes" and Reflections.
how is everyone not just frozen and staring in absolute rapture in this beautiful moment?
When I came across him in Chester 15 years ago I was...
@@hobgoblin9308 Same pal, went to uni in Chester, any time Ed was playing i'd write at least an hour off my day to stand and watch.
I saw him when I went to Yorkshire with my class in high school it was so beautiful, such a great memory

How beautiful, makes me cry, my favorite song.

@Jontman42 I live in the UK and if I knew his schedule, I'd be there first thing tomorrow!
You're great

Ed Alleyne johnson what pedals do you use on the violin? how to have a good distortion in the electric violin?
I'd guess it's because people here tend to feel self conscious if there's not already a few people who have stopped to listen. Many people wouldn't want to be the only one standing there. 1:47 " Ooh excuse me, am i just completely standing in front of your picture?"

@Cesar Augusto... 100% agree. I'd go so far as to say that the creatures that gave this clip / performance a thumbs down, have no soul either !!!
i understand you comment, but most people seem to just lost their feeling for music, but i probably guess that we can thank the pop music industry for this :P i say lets try to teach people again how to appreciate music by playing it right in there faces the best we can :D (just my way of trying to be positive i guess :P )
EveryOne should reach into their sky rockets and part for this chap ......
