It's a great beginner DAW especially if someone is thinking of getting into Cubase more serious. It's not as crippled as some other OEM DAWs and you can totally create entire songs with it. Thank you for watching. Keep creating! 👊👍

Same here. I actually started with Cubase LE many years ago (I think it was version 2) and it wasn't that good. But this new version is great. Thanks for the complement on the channel. I checked out yours and it looks like you've got a great start to your channel. Keep creating! 👊👍

Reaper is the only DAW which is set up in a way which doesn’t have the typical “computer convolution” I have to try to work around. I downloaded this free Cubase months ago, but I’ve only czeched it out a couple of times, but the GUI looked entirely too scary. lol. Upon bothering to call it up yesterday, I, Did, Not, Know that this includes a free suite of Sound Toys plugins, Whaa-aat..? 😱😀
Also, I bothered to load the “setup modes”, such as “this one is for rock; this one is for jazz”, whereas I had ignored that before, because I thought that was corny. Well, I selected, I think “this one is for ‘blues rock’”, and lo and behold, the basics have been arranged for me, like maa, gic. Also, getting it to see my Alesis electronic drumkit and my midi-equipped keyboard was next to utterly bullshitless, which absolutely shocked me. Most DAWs have all kinds of woke horseshit you have to go through in order to get that done, and then it DOESN’T work. *rips own scalp off and runs down the sidewalk, screaming*
Could it be I’ll actually be able to USE this Cubase Basic? I cautiously pronounce that I think so. 😅

Just upgraded from Cubase 10.5 AI to Cubase Elements 11 and had a play with it today. There are certainly more sounds available in Halion Sonic SE which was very lacking in AI and some more drum kits in Groove Agent. The chord pad editor is improved and there is an arranger track which I will have to find out how to use. It is well worth the price of the upgrade for the extras you get. I think the setup I have now lacks for nothing really so I probably won’t be upgrading for quite some time as I see. Cubase is an amazing DAW once you drill below the surface and learn how to use it. I love chord track and you can rough out a chord progression for an instrumental track so easily. 😀😀😀

Tks for the video. I just upgraded from Cubase AI 10 to Cubase Elements 11. As I am still exploring, so far, I think it is a good buy, especially now with etc 40% discount. I find the CC value besides the mouse pointer in Midi editing view rather helpful. The additional Plugins processors are simply great.

    2 questions
    (1) Does it allowed third-party plugins?
    (2) What does S:8 in FX Sends mean? If I have 8 audio track, does it allow 1 Send for each Audio Track (8 Send as a Total in a Project)? Or it allows to use up to 8 Send for each Track?

Can you use Elements to edit audio files? I'm a DJ and need to do things like cut out a piece of a song that may not sound great, or extend a good sounding part by inserting clips. Just manipulating the file itself and not creating new music. If Elements doesn't have those features, what about Artist or Pro? I'm assuming one of those versions is right for me.

@@AudioTechTV I started Cubase about 1982 (?) - on my Atari 1040st with 1MB RAM but two onboard Midi-ports ;-) - and made my first two CD's and had hundreds of concerts ...
Then I bought some cubase pro (or whatever it was called then) for my apple macintosh with a 8-ports midicontroller "marc of the unicorn" (and a kurzweil 2500s A&B-ROM, alltogether 30.000$) - suddenly they changed from NUBUS-plattform to PCI or so, I dont remember - so I never again got started with this tons of functions ...
No I am near retirement and lost the job ... maybe a good time to look for cubase ;-)

I didn’t know that they were giving LE 9.5 for free. Cubase LE is free when you purchase certain audio interfaces and recorders. Steinberg interfaces, Audient interfaces, Zoom recorders, and probably some others. So if you purchased one of those interfaces and got a license for Cubase LE, it will be free for you.

I didn't intend to call you out. Your question gave me the idea for the video so I thought I'd include you in it. But yeah. So many classics were recorded on 4 tracks, 8 tracks, and 16 tracks. The limitations in Cubase LE aren't huge. It's definitely capable of allowing you to create some classics of your own. Then if you eventually grow out of it you can upgrade as needed.
