Haha, she's like "Give me back those eggs NOW! Or I'm going to hire a lawyer! This is theft of private property! You will respect my rights! OH, get your hands off me, you crazy human!" Broody hens are some of the funniest creatures around...unless they peck you.
Amazing rhat she doesn't bite. When we had hens many years ago, we had a Silkie, who frequently went broody. She turned into a small velociraptor when we took the eggs. She was an amazing mama, so she was allowed chickens onceca year.
@nickcarroll8565 they taste exactly like chicken eggs, but bigger. They only lay durring certain times of the year though, while chickens lay all year round
I raise chickens myself, and have for about 3 years now and counting. And for those of you who wonder why she took her out of her nest, broody hens are extremely devoted girls, they only get off their nests once a day while broody to eat, drink, and poop, then they go right back onto the nest, obviously over time this can take a toll on a hens health, and for her own health and safety we farmers have to remove them off their nests so they can remain healthy. Also,no hens don’t get sad or upset when their eggs are taken,as a matter of fact,it doesn’t bother them at all.
My serama hens for some reason love to go broody together in one nesting box. I’ll have 7 or 8 of these smooshy adorable broodies all making the same noises in a chorus. I adore it!
Some of the craziest encounters of my life have been broody hens. We have a few who seem to go broody constantly, some of them so stubborn that theyll sit there for upwards of two months despite our best efforts to break the brood. Those ladies are nuts. Ive had hens get so upset at me taking the eggs away that they chase and attack me. Of course theyre also the ones who are horrendous mothers so we cant let them have the babies they want 🙄
Those birds dont care about the eggs, we have hens that actively break and eat those eggs right in front of us just to stop us from messing with them lol. @@winzyl9546
I LOVE broody hens! They're so funny!!! You could give them pingpong balls and they'd treat them like eggs!!! hell you could probably give them snake eggs and they'd sit on them!!!! looooooooooool my cat wants to know what all the noise is!!!!
Only 3 hens I’ve ever come across that totally trusted me and they were below the pecking order. All 3 generation of the same blood line and one had a brood of 14 eggs and each one survived their first 3 years. Only time ever I’ve ever seen that. The “Underhens” are the best mothers.
Human: You are not the momma Chicken: No, but I get the enjoyment of hatching them out and then turning them over to you. It’s a win win, you get to be momma and I get to sit and hatch. ❤😊 Edit: My chicken (only have one left), started laying her eggs two months ago. Sometimes she’ll sit on them and I kid you not, sounds like she’s complaining. When I come in the room to get the egg (one so far) she practically jumps off that egg, like here take this thing!! I subscribed!!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤
First time I've ever seen a broody hen not peck at someone hand, much less when the eggs there sitting on is being taken. Honestly surprising, I've even seen none broody hen peck the hexk out of peoples hand before
I was finally able to catch my broody hen out from her hidey hole. She’s been in the garage behind a ton of stuff and has no eggs! She hasn’t laid an egg in the two years I’ve had her. So I’m just hoping i can brake her broodiness and keep her out of the garage.
When I had chickens it used to annoy me when one of the hens go broody. It would starve and dehydrate itself, (pointless as the eggs weren’t fertilised without a rooster) so I had to kick it out of it coop all the time.
I love how she angrily voices her disapproval but does absolutely nothing to stop her lol

She's offended, livid, but she can't deny your truth

Chicks can find food from their first day, can't they? They just peck things!
@LucyKelly-of6cu The problem is if there's not a mother hen around to protect them, the chicks will get relentlessly bullied by the other chickens
These cute little hanging legs ❤❤
She’s adorable! 🎉
That opening shot has me crying from laughing so hard 🤣
Haha sounds like my mom. Hated being a mom but kept having us damn kids
