Essex Steam Train at Old Deep River Road.

When you are a railfan visiting Connecticut, you have to visit the Essex Steam Train! Photo brother was up in the area for work in late July so he had to stop by. Here we see their locomotive Valley Railroad #40, a 2-8-2 Mikado locomotive built by Alco in 1920, approaching the crossing at Old Deep River Rd. This is actually the shuttle train, heading from Essex to Old Deep River Landing after the last scheduled train to pick up the returning passengers from the riverboat.
