in response to both David and L.A: In the UK up until this week the coronavirus laws prevented anyone from leaving their homes unless its essential (daily exercise includes running, walking, or cycling). It's all so that there is less stress on our government funded health service, which provides care for us. It would be very unfair for someone who is already being overworked for covid patients, to provide medical attention to someone who just wanted a ride.

@@volo1826 I ride my bike to work almost every day, and since we deal with government contracts my job is considered "essential." The problem is, I get stopped quite often just going to and from work because they think I am out just riding around. I must know half of the PD by now because of it.

he said that that was all he said he didn't want to incriminate himself so to make it sound like he was listening and accepting everything the officer wanted to say he just said politely yessir and ok so the officer didn't get mad at him arguing the traffic stop because if he said yeah I was doing it and it'll stop you don't have to say anything you can provide the bare minimum requirements to complete a traffic stop and never talk because you have the right of speech. a lot of officers ask when you give your info if the place that is your "home: on the info is where you are currently staying and you normally respond yes/no but stuff like that you don't have to answer they just need to check all the info to see if its all valid ill link a video for you to watch where a guy exercises all his rights in his traffic stop for ya its interesting........ czcams.com/video/iP_0uUz-9oo/video.html
I am in the UK. Going on the motorbike is frowned upon... However, I go out when my elderly relatives need food essentials. it's hard to get food delivered in this rea as all the slots are booked so i class my trip as essential. Did get into an argument with a cyclist who had a go at me at traffic lights for me being on the bike... told him to jog on.
I don't get it. He's on a bicycle. He has literally all the same dangers of a motorcycle, except he can't brake as fast, accelerate out of dangerous situations as fast, has no mirrors, has no exhaust to let people know where he is etc. He's more likely to be injured than you, especially now that the roads are a lot clearer.

Yes but getting shopping is a essential journey as long as you can prove that's what you're doing. Especially for your neighbours, I applaud you for that. However taking the bike out on your jollies in the current situation is just daft and selfish. Especially when the other divs out having bbqs on the beach.
