Actually, when we see the S&M engines the first one has a 1, and Neil has a 2. Also we see TWO engines, not just one. So, by that logic the engines would be Clive and Matthew, not Neil.

This feels more like a Christmas special, you know the 3 spirits that visit that man if you know what I'm talking about.

1. Proteus (After falling off the old iron bridge).
2. Godred (After falling of the Culdee Fell Mountain).
3. Clive/Neil (Unknown)
4. Eagle (Unknown)
5. Stanely (After turning into a generator and buried under dirt in the back of the old Mid Sodor Railway shed.
6. Joseph (Unknown)
Agian I think. For some I don't know the cause of their deaths. If you do, could you please tell me.
Eagle was blown up in a air raid and Joseph was scraped in the 1900 trilogy

Joseph was killed during the 1969 movie I think in order to save Murdoch and Green Arrow.
From what I heard, Eagle was blown up, so I going to say that he was blown up during WWll.
The box tank engines (ik that one of them was clive) might have been blown up during WWl or something else happened to them (take this one with a grain of salt).
