I just finished upgrading my stock woofers with the JBL GX600C in my Yaris hatchback from 2008. I also deadened the car doors which helped a TON with the midbass. Yet, I am still missing the low end. I don't want to add an amplifier (I'm honestly a bit scared to, since it seems like a ton of work) so an active, underseat subwoofer like this seems awesome! Thanks for the video!

Thanks for the answer. I followed your lead and bought both the powered sub and also the Scosche LOC2SL but I was wondering if that’s actually necessary since the Rockville has both the RCA line level inputs as well as speaker level inputs built in? It makes sense for you to use one in your car because you said you will eventually upgrade this to a much nicer amp with a large sub to match and you will definitely need the line level out but I’m pretty sure that a simple powered sub like the Rockville will be as far as I ever go for my car’s sound system (2018 Civic). What do you think? Should they theoretically be the same or will using the LOC be better and how much better? (I now have the wiring I need for either scenario: nice shielded RCA or 2 pairs of 16 gauge speaker wire so I can try out both scenarios later today)

    • @thesilentobserver93

@@jasontram7775 - I realize this comment is a bit late, but I figured some kind of answer would be nice for others who may have a similar question. I just installed this unit in my '99 Dakota. From what I can tell, an LOC would just be redundant and unnecessary for this unit. An LOC is simply converting a high level signal into a low level signal. Unless you require the use of a remote turn on wire, I'd save the money. If you don't have preamp (RCA) outputs, then just hook the unit up via the speaker wires in the factory harness. The amp will automatically turn on when it sees a signal on those wires, and turn off when the signal goes away.

    Hi everyone, need some help.
I bought the same powered sub, but the plug in wiring that came with it is a different size than the wiring rockville recommended which is the red power and the black ground. Can I hook up 2 different size wires together?
Example: the ground black wire plugged into the sub would be connected/heat shrinked together to a bigger 10gauge wire that would be connected to the metal which is ground.
And same for the red power wire.
