I don't even have a licence yet but I am so much into this bike already.
This is the thing about bikes. You can get a 600-1000cc and go 300km/h praying you make it out alive from that run, or you can just get yourself one of these and enjoy adventurous rides pretty much anywhere for probably a lifetime if you treat it properly.
enjoyed the video. thank for putting this together for us.
Good to get that first drop out of the way early… now you don’t need to worry about it anymore. Great video, thanks.
I got my crf300l base model about a month ago. Just did my 600 mile oil change. Love this bike! Haven't dropped it yet though lol
Nice review and enjoyable video! Thanks for posting
Thank you!
Great honest review 👏, Canadian too!
Enjoy your bike and keep up feeding us with videos.
Just found your channel today, and I thought this was an excellent review--I subscribed and look forward to more of your content. BC would be a dream place for me to live (after 38 years of being in the desert down in Arizona) and ride. Have been away from riding for decades, and at 60, I just want a small, fun dual sport, so it is either a 300l or 300 Rally for me. Although I've ridden before, I consider myself a new rider and have to learn good skills, so I'll look forward to seeing how you get on with it.
Thank you very much! BC has some wonderful places to ride, though I’m sure Arizona has some stunning desert riding, and you can ride all year. I think any of the 300’s would be a great mild mannered but totally capable bike to hone your skills on!
Dawn Patrol: I'm with Jmaninaz1. Great review, although I felt your pain in the video when you mentioned dropping your new bike. I too have subscribed. Jmaninaz1, my story is similar to yours. I'm 62 and rode as a kid and through college, mostly road miles, but some single track/dirt. In 2013, grandiose plans led me to purchase a KTM 1190R Adventure bike and although I loved the machine, but it was too tall and heavy (what was I thinking?!), especially since we don't get stronger and more coordinated as we age, LOL. The KTM was a fantastic bike, but most suited for a stronger, taller, more skilled rider. So I sold it last year. I longed for a lighter, lower seat height dual-sport. In my research, the reviews on the CRF250L and CRF450L were unremarkable. I hoped that Honda would introduce a lightweight dual-sport with a little more umph! than the 250 and one with reasonable maintenance requirements. Enter the CRF300L with a Rally edition. Woohoo! I put money down on a Rally yesterday! So it can be done - realize your dreams, get your CRF300L, RIDE, and have fun! And as DP mentioned, you are fortunate to be able to ride year round making the return on your investment worth it!
Congrats on the bike. I have the standard CRF300L. I'm in B.C. also; Kelowna in the Okanagan. I just did the first service today. Love the bike :-)
Awesome dude! your videos are great! the move to a 300 definitely was a smart choice by Honda these bikes are wicked!
@@dawnpatrol4256 Thanks man. Yup, these bikes are awesome. Keepers :-)
@@Scoottoots oh for sure!
Just put a deposit down on a Rally in Vancouver. Nice to see a BC owner making content! Hope I can join the ranks soon.
Congrats! Hopefully you’ll be out there soon!
Grats on the bike.
Thank you! Do you ride?
Nice video. Sorry about the mishap on yr Brand New Rally!
The nice thing about a little scrape is, the next time you have one it won't matter a bit.
One reason I love driving a '99 Jeep is, I can park anywhere in a lot go into a store, and not have a bit of worry that someone might ding my door.
Just dold my gs 800 lovely butvtoo big for my needs, I have been looking at the 300 for a while, great province to.live in I am down in the penticton area. Will wait for your next post.
I just sold my f800 and now have a 300 rally...
Thank you
Bummer you drop a new beauty full bike . Engine guards next . At least your ok . I am upgrading my klx 230 for one of those .
What suv did you try to put this on? I have a Toyota Tacoma with a topper and I am trying to figure out if this bike will be too much for a hitch carrier.
Man, I had a 2017 crf250l, I took the seat strap off after the second ride !
Totally it’s not even like it’s a great handle if you have a pillion.
I'm struggling between this bike and the CRF300l and the XT 250, any advice would be appreciated. I plan on riding 50/40/10 pavement/forestry road/single track. Thanks in advance.
Lol how did you drop your bike?
Bro that sucks haha
You were grabbing a go pro?
Hi there, great video! What’s your inseam length and are you able to flat foot? I have a 30” inseam, do you think I will be able to reach the ground sufficiently to ride safely? Thanks 🙏🏻
I have a 31” inseam and at 1st “sit”, my tippy toes barely touch. But if you squish the suspension down (kind of bounce on it) you’ll get to the balls of your feet. I am adding a lowering link - but I’m an older female who weighs 125.
Is it possible to achieve 87,88 us mpg or 2,5..2,7 L/100km cons in 6 gear solo relax ride constant speed at 50 mph or 80kmh...on the open nice flat asphalt road?? I m 179 95 kg
That wind noise!
Hows the seat height
Don’t you have to break in the engine?
Whats that black cable sticking out in the front?
If it’s up by the handle bars it’s the D loop for the front brake, if it’s by the tire it might be the abs cable.
Drop on a day old bike. Ouch. Well, it’s a good story and now it’s your baby. Have been there.
Haha yeah definitely hurts the ego but if you never drop your dualsport you’re either an amazing rider or not taking it off road.
@@dawnpatrol4256 yes. Like a jeep wrangler that sits pretty and waxed. There is a shame in it.
insurance cost of this bike pls?? ty
Hi, What is the seat width? Nice video.
Honda website mate
Just called the Honda dealer where I put a down payment on a CRF300 Rally. No bike yet from Hondaeast in Toledo, Ohio, I put $500 down on September 20th nearly eight months ago! I am starting to get a little angry as I see many other dealerships getting this bike in.
That’s super frustrating! Sorry to hear that. I know I ended up waiting over 2 months beyond the initial date the dealership said it would be there, and I count myself lucky that it was that short. I really hope they get your bike soon!
did you get it at the end ?? :D i just booked mine today.
cannot wait to see what Itchy boots has to say.
I know! I’ve been following her adventures and I’m excited to see where she can take one of these bikes!
Trek Ethos over itchy boots any day.
@@dawnpatrol4256 shes in south américa
On this bike
@@nachohernandez9491 I know I’ve been following along, Looks like an amazing adventure!
what is your top speed?
I've got it to about 120kph personally but it could definitely go faster than that, probably 140kph at most.
Got 83mph on mine today....going down hill.
are going on adventure ride meet up in sept in vernon ?
I will if I can, whats the date for the meet up?
@@dawnpatrol4256 sept 15 i think
@@canadianfortruth I’ll see if I can.
Can that ugly headlight and windshied be removed and replaced with a standard headlight
You could buy the 300L instead so you don't have to...
I don't understand why it has that ugly cable sticking up in your face. and it hurt to see it damaged on the first ride. but seems like a decent bike. but for I bike that size I would rather it be a 450cc.
The brake line and abs line are commonly routed on bikes this size in my experience. Im not sure how you would damage it, unless you went upside down, then you'd probably have bigger concerns. And if you would rather it be a 450, then pony up the extra dough and buy one. Its a 300, great bike at the price point.
That much "slack" is required for suspension flex. If you were turning the bars to the right and the suspension was at full flex it would require all that line.
This is the same reason dirt bikes have it.
That camera pov is way to low, it looks like its strapped to your waist. Nice bike though!
If you haven't dropped your bike...you haven't been off road.
I have had 3 ADV bikes now. Dropped the first two, but have only had the 300 Rally for a month. I know the drop is coming sooner or later.
Looks like these bikes are for a bunch of wimps and so therefore I will not be purchasing one.
