How to File KRA Returns with Taxable Income - ORDINARY - 2020 Tutorial

  • Here are the steps to guide you in filing your returns online
    1. Visit this site: itax.kra.go.ke/KRA-Portal/
    2. Log in using the credentials you were given during your i-tax registration.
    3. Perform the arithmetic operation (security stamp).
    4. Log in
    5. Click on "E returns"
    6. Tax obligation - Income tax resident individual
    7. Type of return - Original
    8. Return period from 01/01/2019
    9. Return period to 31/12/2019
    10. Tick, I agree to the terms and conditions
    11. Click on "click here to download income tax- resident individual form(excel)
    Refer to your P9 Form
    12. Fill your Personal identification number
    13. Type of return - original
    14. Return period from 01/01/2019
    15. Return period to 31/12/2019
    16. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click next
    17. Fill in the following:
    - The employer's pin:
    - The employer's name:
    - Gross pay (column A in the P9 form)
    - Allowances is zero (0)
    - Net value of housing - (column C)
    - Pension in excess of 300,000 - fill zero (0)
    - Scroll to the bottom of the page and click next
    - The employer's pin:
    - The employer's name:
    - Taxable salary - column G
    - Tax payable on taxable salary - column H
    - Amount of tax deducted - column K
    - Scroll to the bottom of the page and click next
    - Don't click anything on advance tax paid. just scroll to the bottom of the page and click next
    on tax computation
    - Go to 11.1 - column F (Pension Contribution)
    - Go to 12.6 - column J (Monthly Tax Relief)
    Scroll down and click validate
    - Fill in the bank details
    - Validate
    Go back to KRA website
    Browse to get the upload file
    Submit.

    This was sooooooo helpful. I just finished filing my tax returns since 2015 till 2021. KRA owes me and I owe them too. So I hope they pay me so I can pay them the balance. This video is just it!!!!. Great job.

      Vallarie🤣🤣🤣KRA are the tax collectors in the Bible, they will not return a dime. Just pay or apply for a payment plan usikpewe penalties

    Thanks for the help. However they introduced a section for Jan to March income and April to Dec income which applies to Jan to Dec 2020. You can also copy and paste the values by doing ctrl+c and ctrl+v

    what if you have left the job place where you were working, are you supposed to file Nil returns in that case or you should file the ordinary returns and forward the acknowledgment receipt to your former company for payment.

    This is amazing! Great job for screening throughout the session. Would you mind doing a video using P9 forms for a government employee? Our P9 forms only show the taxable pay, total pension PAYE and MPR. It's so hectic to fill the Tax computation tab M.

      You just add Paye plus the personal relief amount.
