  • Shaykh Abdal Hakim Murad stresses the need to remove distractions in Ramadan. Inspired by Khawaja Ahmed Yassavi's poetry, known for selflessness and detachment from worldly desires, he urges us to embrace these same principles for true spiritual liberation during fasting.

Amazing, illuminating, talk. we has no idea what treasures Islam holds, this very moderate, complete, Divine and Prophetic way of life. The more you know. Alhamdul Allah

Khwaja Ahmed Yesevi.. very great sufi from Central Asia. Sheikh, you recited wonderful Turkish poetry by Khwaja Yesevi. In this age of materialistic society, we need our elders guidance the most.

Here is the part of the first Hikmah that the Shaykh recited:
Bismillâh dep beyân eyley hikmet aytıp
Tâliblerge dürr ü gevher saçtım mena
    Riyazetni kattığ tartıp kanlar yutup
Men defter-i sâni sözin açtım mena
Sözni aydım her kim bolsa didâr-taleb
Cânnı cânğa peyvend kılıp regni avlap
    Garib yetim fakîrlerni köngli sıylap
    Köngfi bütün halayıkdın kaçtım mena
Kayda körseng köngli sınuk merhem bolğıl
Andağ mazlum yolda kalsa hemdem bolğıl
    Ruz-ı mahşer dergahığa mahrem bolğıl
Mâ u menlik halayıkdın kaçtım mena
    Garib, fakir, yetimlerni Resûl sordı
Uşal tüni mi'râc çıkıp dîdâr kördi
    Kaytıp tüşüp fakir halin sordı
    Gariblerni izin izlep tüştüm mena
    Ümmet bolsang gariblerge tâbi bolğıl
Ayet hadis her kim aytsa sâmi bolğıl
Rızk u ruzi her ne berse kâni bolğıl
Kâni bolup şevk şarabın içtim mena
    Medinege Resul barıp boldı garib
    Gariblikde mihnet tartıp boldı habîb
    Cefa tartıp Yaratkanğa boldı karib
    Garib bolup ukbalardın aştım mena
    Akil erseng gariblerni köngli avla
Mustafâ dek elni kezip yetim kavla
    Dünya-perest nâ-cinslerdin boyun tavla
Boyun tavlap deryâ bolup taştım mena
For those wondering this is Chagatai Turkish, the written language of central Asian Turks at the time. Not modern Anatolian Turkish or any other living variety.

I could completely understand the original poem as I speak Uzbek and it is mesmorisingly exquisite, but the translation is quite crude. May Allah bless you dear Ustaz.

It is important to not rely on force, but convincing to bring peoples under control or to perfect their purpose.
Translations need to be more than linguistic.
Love of God is always known by actual orthodoxy and orthopraxy.
