Sat here and watched the whole entire thing! I'm not single but you've made so many valid points. I was single, however, for about 8 or 9 years before him, I'm 31 now. I spent so much time working on myself and where I want to be as a person and he came in when I least expected and when I say "least" I mean LEAST expected. And honestly, being in love isn't the easiest thing either, it takes so much effort and commitment and you have to choose each other every single day, be it consciously or subconsciously and ESPECIALLY when those rough patches hit. But waiting for someone worth choosing again and again, even if it's after almost a decade like myself. He is my home, my forever, the love of my life. It is definitely worth waiting all that time and growing to be your best single self first to be with someone who makes all those other choices quietly go away while you sink into someone who makes you truly happy and secure from the inside out.

@chellybabyme I mean, growing out of this kind of mindset is something I had to do, too. We both wanted to settle down. We have kids. We're in our thirties, tired, lol. That's why I said it's a constant choice. We choose to choose each other. I have been traumatized in the past, that's why it took me so long but he shows up and I trust him. That was a whole process in itself, too. It's a choice.
@@vib0oo That makes sense on paper. I don't mean to cast aspersions, but when one of you does something out of alignment with these choices, then that one's life will be messed up. And the kids' too. I know traditionally people parent as couples, but I feel life is risky enough without involving someone else. Everyone will disappoint you eventually. There can be many disappointments (as well as happiness) in life and I don't want to give anyone control over that. I really feel that romantic love is a farce that we tell ourselves to abide. Thank you for being so open about this, Amber 💕 I feel you on being romantic and having a hard time not knowing where to put that energy- I've found putting that energy into doing nice things for myself, my friends and my family to share love helps when I am down or lonely. I love the quote about finding yourself and the love at second sight too! Honestly I'm in the same boat, single, live alone and I love nights where I watch a movie, take a bubble bath and chill lol I know once my person finds me and vice versa I'll miss my single era so I'm living it up now and loneliness comes in waves which is normal. I'm getting so much better at knowing what I want and being clear about it- I had to tell a guy this week I didn't see a long term romantic connection with him and I knew in my heart he wasn't for me- poor thing was crushed and it wasn't anything he did, he was so romantic and a gentleman and brought me roses on our second date and planned the cutest surprises for me. But I didn't want to go on another date and waste either of our time when I knew he wasn't my guy long term. The more that I have things like that to face and I handle it well and am upfront about what I want and not waste my time the more I am clearing a path for the right person to come in. It's hard at first but it's a lot harder when you stay with the wrong person. I had an ex come back and I gave him a chance to show me if he was really serious and this clown tried the same old ish with me so I cut it off- the whole chemistry thing is a slippery slope sometimes lol we're human and we live and learn! And being kind to myself and giving myself grace has been a huge part of healing through heartbreak 💕
