Saw them a few years ago, and Adams voice sounded then like it does here, just honestly disappointing. I don’t know what it is, but it’s like he’s out of breath and mumbling half the words. I thought maybe it was an off night when I saw them, but after browsing live videos, it’s the same for everything they did the last seven years or so. I hate to say it, cause I DO like them. They also have his voice buried way in the mix on their shows, to where the band seems twice as loud as his voice. I mean that’s a conscious choice someone in their sound crew is making, there’s got to be some reason for it. Just frustrating after they were so good live for years, and the last few years something happened and his voice is really off. Someone in the audience could come up and make some of these songs sound better, even if they’re not a pro at swinging and catching a mic for the duration of the show.
Age (42), 20+ year smoker, and poor voice management are likely the three biggest factors for this decline. Might be a chance for him to turn it around, but not likely. Can't imagine them touring much longer anyway.
Im going to give my armchair reddit theory here. To me, it seems like he never got proper vocal training, and as he got older, whatever he did back then just doesn't work now.
I just saw TBS for the first time live last week. I get what people are saying but i still felt like it was one of the best shows ive been to. He enjoying himself and putting himself into it. I feel like people expect live to sound like studio albums and thatll never happen. Adam is all over the place high energy, bouncing all over tge place he interacts with the crowd. Overall I think TBS is phenomonal live and will be seeing them everytime they come around

@@skibat1I completely agree with that. I just wonder how aware he is of what he sounds like, or if he just doesn’t even care.
I saw Taking Back Sunday in the early 2000's and Adam sounded like this back then, too. Muffled, off-key. He is just not very good at singing live.
Any idea where mark is ?
Family emergency
Adam sounds better than he has in a while
they did not play ghost man on third. thats whats it feel like to be a ghost sadly
During Error Operator he thought he was in Houston 🙃
Hate on Adam all yall want but you can’t deny he doesn’t try to put on a good show for everyone .
