Im suprized that you had these issues with a Citroen, they are said to be the market leaders in this technology as they have been doing it the longest and spent more money in DPF development for their own vechicles. I used to own a 1997 Mk2 facelift 2.0 litre diesel C5 exclusive and once a month id take it to a dual carriageway and do 25 miles in 3rd gear at 70mph, minimum 3 thousand rpm and it would force a regeneration of the dpf in 135,000 miles I never had any issues with the DPf system. it is also important to keep the fuel tank at least half full or the system will not rengenerate.
