Can you just make tutorial on everything. Like "How to file your taxes." You're an amazing teacher.
He has a very soothing voice too!
True happiness is when Skyrim suggests Ultra High graphic settings
ExplodedGEORGE About a month ago I made this PC for like 500ish USD. And the first time I booted up Skyrim and saw that, I could feel the master race's silent approval sounding out all around me.
ExplodedGEORGE Jre, Could you please tell me what all of your components were for your computer build.
I am saving up for my first computer build and it would be ABSOLUTELY GLORIOUSLY WONDERFUL if I could make one for even $600. My current planned build is for something like $725, and saving a couple hundred would gosh dern fantastic.
Colton Byrd The case is an older one, I'm not too sure what it is, but cases hardly matter. The motherboard is an asrock h97 anniversary, GPU is an Asus r9 270x, 8 gb of ram (Just find a reputable and affordable manufacturer for 4gb sticks), core i3 processor (A bit weak, I would have preferred i5, but that was above my budget), an EVGA 500 bronze 80 power supply, and a couple case fans I scavenged from an older power supply for cooling. I'm running win 7 right now (Because I hate 8, and I'm waiting a bit to upgrade to 10, because early software is a bit shaky). Disc drive, whatever is affordable and uses SATA works just fine, I'm using an Asus one but W/e
Jre Thanks, Jre, This will really help me out. I am happy.
+Jre Just built an X99 rig for $2,200 (i7-5820k, 16Gb DDR4, 980 ti, SM951 ssd, Windows 10) and i'm pretty sure it only only suggested High not Ultra High for me lol, but Nvidia optimized everything to max. Then again I didn't build this rig for gaming.
Honestly I have no words to describe how thankful I am for your videos, I was completely lost with the modding of my game and I really wanted to mod it but without messing it up, your videos and your clear slow friendly descriptions are just what I needed.
You are great and deserve lots of cookies :D
I want an audio version of this guy reading LOTR and Harry Potter!
+bayingjase2006 YES
Before finding this web series I would never have attempted modding. It was so technical and hard to understand and just plain confusing. Gopher explains things step by step in very easy to use directions that even I could understand. Thank you SOOO much for doing this. You have opened up my PC gaming world, and made Skyrim a new and exciting game for me once again.
Just set up my new PC, finally switched from playing the console version of Skyrim for 2 years, now playing on the PC with maxed settings looks amazing now going through these tutorials with ease as before my old PC was shyt, lol great videos Gopher.
BOSS is now superseded by LOOT, and LOOT is built into NMM, for those that may be new to modding Skyrim. Just click on the wrench and screwdriver icon on NMM, scroll down to automatic plugin sorting, and boom. Done. Pretty convenient.
+HerpyDerpyDoo!! good to know, thanks
+il2xbox Another good to know point is, LOOT is also built in for Mod Organizer, and both versions will sort your plug-ins automatically, for anyone curious about MO.
Of course, that still means you'll at least need to be knowledgeable with TESVEdit for plug-in cleaning still, just in case something should happen.
+HerpyDerpyDoo!! i didn't know that! thank you so much!
You're welcome. Hoping Gopher does a new video series detailing these changes to keep others in the loop. I would, but I don't have a camera or experience with programs like FRAPS/Bandicam, etc.
Bandicam is free if im not mistaken, and you dont need that much experience for that, if you will have a channel you bet you'll have at least one sub (me)!
I'm 40 hours in and I don't know how I've survived without SkyUI so far.
I was in 181 hours b4 i used it.
Im 45 mins into my pc skyrim, 200 on consoles, playing it on pc after 200 hours on consoles makes you love pc even more.
337 in PC, 300+ on console, and Im still re-watching this series for the 7th time since I keep forgetting crucial parts of modding skyrim.
i just bought the game, and im downloading EVERYTHING!!!
I am. im working on the textures mods now. love this guy
I just want to say thank you. I have spent nearly my entire Sunday watching your various video's on modding. Editing my files, downloading new mods and generally learning a huge amount. Thank you very much!
You sir are changing my life for the better.
Just wanted to say that these videos are extremely helpful and that your format and style are amazingly professional. Well done man! :D
I would like to say thank you so much! I came to this video series after searching for hours on how to start modding, and this appeared. This is still helpful 7 years later (although outdated and has some differences in appearance) and has been the key teacher in my road to modding. thank you so much.
Man, this has got to be the best tutorial list on modding I have ever watched. Now I think I can mod Skyrim in confidence. You earned a new subscriber, thank you very much.
I am glad you spoke slow and steady and didn't rush into everything like most videos do. 2 thumbs up!
I'm so glad I found your series. I installed nearly 40 mods without taking precussions and doing the right things to the files but this is perfect!
Thank you so much for these videos, I've been fumbling around using Steam Workshop mods for years, and I figured it was finally time I mod stuff in a better way. So thank you for taking the time to structure these in a way that covers everything! As a teacher myself, you really do have to break stuff down, and you do a great job doing that!
Thank you for the excellent set of videos. I started adding Mods a little while ago and did not really know what I was doing, but it worked. Now that I have started watching your tutorials I better understand how the process works and am very pleased. Again, I would like to thank you for taking the time to show those of us a better way to play Skyrim. Well Done!!!!
Your work is amazing, you have changed my experience with modding and Skyrim immeasurably for the better
I am constantly amazed by your videos' quality and usefulness! Thank you, Mr Gopher, for all the work you do!
Fantastic stuff as always, Gopher. Going through this whole series tonight and loading my machine up with mod goodness.
I have never met someone with more polite flawless humble SWAG. Best guides I've ever used ever for anything. A+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Almost 2 years later this is still a great tutorial (series)!
Best kind of videos out there for beginners. The videos have helped me substantially with broadening my intelligence with Skyrim's modification potential. Very informative and organized, I appreciate your hard work putting them together. Thank you.
Just wanted to say, you're a GOD for noobs like myself. Watching just a few of your videos made me so much more informative about modding. And the game is so much more enjoyable now. Thank you for taking your time to teach us.
Lord modding Bethesda games has really gotten easier. I remember how much of a hassle it was to try add a single mod to a game like FO3.
Great guides man!
No kidding ever try modding morrowind? Right pain in the ass.
I love how you structure your Guides with all the download links in the description etc. :)
Just want to say that I've just gotten into modding and your videos not only are very informative and helpful but you teach so well. I thank you sir for great teaching skills in walking through every step to the basics of modding. I will definitely be watching future videos :)
Just got into modding and I'm loving this series so far.
Dude, I seriously love you. Your voice is magnificent and the way you pronounce things makes me tingle inside. Also the way you explain things is amazing. I wish my professors could explain things like you. Thanks man you're seriously the greatest.
👍 Thank you for all the time you have spent doing this. You are a great teacher and people are still learning from your videos in Jan. 2023
Very eagerly awaiting your part 3 of this series! :D Thank you very much for taking the time to make all of this
SPECTACULAR TUTORIAL SERIES. I'm a few years late so I had to tweak a little bit of the steps (i.e. using vortex instead of nmm, not installing skse bc it's already installed on my steam; therefore, when I launch the game it's basically already there) FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART THANKS. THIS GAME IS NOW FUN AGAIN.
Your videos are consistently helpful. I like to learn slowly and in detail. Thank you.
Thanks for these tutorial series Gopher, you explain things very well and make modding these games super easy! I've followed your New Vegas modding guide previously and that worked perfectly too, so thumbs up from me! Keep them coming!
Gopher, it's nice to see someone making a modding tutorial for skyrim, I tip my hat to you sir!
Seriously, I have modding this game to it's limits, but I could never teach someone to do it. Thank you for making ALL of our jobs easier.
I love this series. I literally just built a gaming pc three weeks ago and wanted to get into modding Skyrim and I find this series. Having a blast after being on the xbox 360 for the last 5 years.
Amazing. These vids could be a paid-for series, and I'm very surprised they're not. Thanks for doing it.
welcome back Gopher - hope you had a great break ...
can't thank you enough for these videos - I have just about completed moving to NMM from SW (there are a couple I can't port 'cos they ain't on nexus and one I have a slight issue with atm - am working on it) but all in all so far so good thanks to your very informative tutorials.
next up - climates of tamriel, pure waters and Falskaar! - oh and deadly dragons (gasp), your skyrim mod sanctuary vids are much appreciated as well.
thanks dude :)
I love your videos! Best tutorials I have found. As someone who is relatively new to modding Skyrim, this rocks!
Your tutorials are very helpful, full of both slow step by step and in depth details i haven't seen in other videos. Thank you. Skyrim is my second favorite game game.. cough cough next to warframe, but it tends to get boring so mods really help make the best experience.
Good sir, I am loving these videos! I just got the Legendary Edition and have enjoys greatly the info for us newbs on how to mod! Thank you for your hard work!
Awesome gopher, I know how to mod Fallout 3, New vegas and skyrim. But whenever I am starting from fresh, I always watch your videos for these kinds of things. Just makes it really clean, and I can get really good mods from start. Your production quality is one of the best... no wait. THE best on CZcams for modding.
I used to mod all the time and just stopped and deleted evrything wanted to start over and your vids are helping out alot! I used these vids to get started originally as well.
Thanks so much for doing this guide. I've watched your Fallout 3 guide and my game is so much better and now I can do this to Skyrim. Both games I've only got recently
Best guy out there for new people like me to modding. Absolutely love it. Thank you very much for informative videos.
These videos are done very professionally, you deserve a lot more views
Gotta say, im only half way through these vids and my jaw is on the floor! so easy to follow and very well explained. I also play silent hunter wolves of the pacific and tried to mod it. unfortunately the vids ive seen are nothing compared to this!! brilliant Gopher...brilliant!
I will not be covering every mod, or even the 'best' mods in this series. Just the mods I feel will get beginners on the road to become competent modders.
I will be covering performance issues in a few videos in the coming weeks I hope.
lol I really enjoy listening to you and learning from you. You're great people!
Love you Gopher for making these vids!! Helped me out alot
I would say I am not quite an expert at modding but I certainly know what I'm doing and I am still learning a few things with these videos. Thanks Gopher.
My God. Gopher thank you so much for all your help and your mods. I was smiling. the entire time you were showing us the immersive hud mod. please don't ever stop.
You're awesome. This series is exactly what I was looking for.
I love how active such an old video is
It is a testament to how great Skyrim and the modding community around it is. Honestly I think people will still be playing and modding Skyrim for many more years :)
I always come here when i need to start fresh on my mods due to a critical wipe on my hd or external. Gopher has a way of making the whole modding concept understandable. Especially to those who may not be used to it :)
Hello from the far future! A lost sunbro is trying to do these mods!
On a side ntoe Gopher is one of the most fantastic teachers I've ever seen in this genre. I'm here from the SKSE Video and so far I'm successful, You are amazing!
I love your tutorial videos! They are so so clear and easy to understand. I am not a native speaker and my English is mediocre but I understand literally everything. And by the way: immersive hud is a great mod.
I would recommend installing it the way I show in the video. The installer works ok, but it has no uninstaller and wont provide any warnings if other mods attempt to overwrite the skse script files. It is worth taking the few minutes to install the data files with NMM (or another mod manager).
totally new to modding and these vids are a great resource for a beginner, thanks Gopher!
I'm not new to modding at all, but I still learned a couple things in this video. Thanks Gopher
Gopher. You are the man. Thanks for your good humor and straightforwardness.
I want to thank you so much for being extremely cool about teaching us noobs how to do this; you were not condescending in any way, and that is greatly appreciated in this culture of trolling!
I really love your tutorials Gopher, Looking forward to next episode. :)
Im only this happy on Christmas. Thank you so very much Gopher
havnt even finished the video yet but the "SKSE detected" message made my week already everything else is just butter ontop
First off thank you thank you for all the help u have given me i successfully installed my first mod and ur videos r great for beginners like me. I have learnt a lot about modding so thank you so very much Gopher :)
Thank you so much for these videos i am a complete novice when it comes to modding and your videos really helped :)
After years of modding, I never noticed that SkyUI added the duration symbols. I didn't know that wasn't in the base game. The more you learn in slow tutorials. Thanks Gopher
your videos are amazing ive never done moding before yet you make it easy to understand you are amazing
major props gopher MAJOR PROPS before the series i litterally messed my skyrim sooo much that i went in houses without walls and starting shouting to 30-50 guards that were attacking me (tgm on) and between shout cd i would see the walls literally in bright red the guards in right green and little stuff in blue ... What an adventure that was reinstalling 2k tectures for about 10 times at the same directory until they might work....
havent played skyrim in a while and when this series came out I thought "who the heck needs this". Now I'm watching it to get my basic mods together^^
YOUR Videos are seriously Awesome! love the way you put everything... even though its a bit slow, but as a beginner I think that is good :p I'll keep watching now, thank you!
You probably should release this playlist at Nexus. Framed permanently. And called something like "Gopher's Modding School". You're explaining are so careful and understandable, in my opinion, that you deserve some credit for your job. Though I figured all out about Skyrim modding, I'm still curious to watch these video series.
I'm a seasoned veteran to modding, yet I'm still watching these videos, I just love Gopher too much!
I appreciate this video series so very much! Its helped me a TON!!!
sweet
completed all set from video and everything work perfectly
this is going to be so great
Quality world map never worked, followed all the instructions, and I see it on the list of mods but not in the plugins.
Wondering why.
Adittionally, I just wanted to thank you for improving my Gaming life. Just started modding Skyrim, and the results are fantastic.
Videos like this that are clear, concise and professionally done make our hobby better, big kudos to you!
I have the same issue :-/
NMM says its installed and I see the files in the data folder, but there aren't any changes in the game...
Hoan K.
It may be causing problems with another mod. Look at the quality world map mod page and look for a section that says: "incompatible mods" or something. If it lists any mods you have installed, they will need to be uninstalled for a quality world map to work.
these videos are really helpful and really helped me make the transition from xbox
Extremely helpful series. Thanks!
I feel like I'm in a college course for modding. Very well done vids dude. Very informative for more than just Skyrim.
Thanks mate and lookin forward to your Fallout New Vegas videos.Keep up the amazing work and hope your trip is/was good.
Working on one tomorrow hopefully, should be done for the weekend. With vacation and many other videos that need making I got behind on that series I am afraid. I need a ten day week.
this is so helpful, i love your tutorials
I have faith in your recommendations regardless of whether they are your's or not because, you are true to your word.
Thank you Gopher! You have made this process a whole lot understandable!
you and your velvety voice are GOD to me for these tutorials =P
Once again, great video Gopher!
Homework? I feel like back in school :D but I'll watch it! Awesome explanation, as always! Thank you
Thanks Gopher ive been waiting for this !
Another awesome vid sir! Are you planning on covering more advanced stuff like modding the ini and prefs files to get the most out of the game? Would be nice to get all the info in one place. :)
Thank you Gopher! I'm new to modding and have around 160 mods running smoothly! :) Oh there were some bumps and bruises along the way but the Skyrim community is amazing! :)
Thank you again Sir Gopher! :) :) :)
This Guides Have Helped Me Out A lot! Thanks!
where is the MCM Link
ed4pints www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/42507/?
thanks Ashlyn
You don`t need to download MCM because its part of SkyUI.
Hey Gopher, I hope you're planning on installing Skyrim Redone.
I can't imagine playing the game without it.
Keep up the great work, Sir Gopher.
Thanks so much for the Skyrim UI, it's way more important than many other mods in fact it's essential considering how poor the standard inventory system is, being able to sort items by weight, value, again like Oblivion is great and it's much more than that with the excellent group option.
Anyone that's not used the group option should try it you can group say your favourite armour and assign it to a function key and just press that key and your all armoured up, also put favourite weapons, potions, poisons, into separate groups and access them much quicker, I use a logitech G510 k/board with 54 programmable keys but even with that and macros I can't find a way to put on all my armour in one key press as with the group option, brilliant!
I know all this, but I just want to watch because you're amazing! :D
I've played Skyrim on my 360 for 400+ Hours and I finally bought it today for the PC. I can't believe what I've missed.....can't wait to play skyrim!!
After a week without internet, it's nice to hear gopher's voice once again.
Im new to pc gaming and these videos are the best.
Mr. Gopher, THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!
I'm enjoying these and finding them extremely helpful!
dude your guides are brilliant ty for them :)
Thank you for doing this my wife actually started to try modding because of this series.
Thanx for this Tutorial Gopher! Installed SkyUI & iHUD too! :)
