      I agree with the problem with the directions. And here I thought it was printed incorrectly. AND after owning many of the older style, this one was a major pain until I though about You Tube the the program.

    Thank you for posting this. I purchased a home with these already installed and so didn't complete the initial set up. This process is much more complicated than necessary and the written instructions need significant improvement. I was finally able to get my units programmed with the help of these videos. Having almost 100K views says something about the written instructions!

    Even with this video, the programming is insanely difficult. Intermatic engineers need to get out of their own heads and realize that everyday folks don't have engineering degrees. There MUST be a way to design easier programming. This is the last Intermatic device I ever purchase. Can't wait til it breaks!

    The paper instructions are bogus. The key difference in this video is the RESET process. In order to reset, you need to press AND HOLD the on/off button while pressing the reset button AND CONTINUE HOLDING the on/off button for more 3 seconds. The product instructions are incorrect, the product is only resetting the basic time/date. Thanks for a good CZcams video !!

    Install a 150 Watt flood light on the dock out back a week ago. Installed this switch last Friday after programing it. Location of light and switch makes it tricky. Well light never came on at the programed time. Tried several things but still didn't work. Watched this video several times. Realized I never reset the switch. So went out to the dock this morning and the light was on. Yep AM PM. Always something with me but the light works and switch is in a waterproof box. Hope to see many fish tis fall in Southeast Louisiana. The video is just fine for me.

    Conceptual summary:
    - MODE button allows for entering PGM mode. Click MODE until you see PGM and choose that with ON/OFF button
    - There are many "fields" on the screen. A field flashes indicating that's the value you are currently modifying.
    - While a field is flashing, use the +/- buttons to change the value of the active field.
    - When done modifying any given field, click ON/OFF to move to the next field
    - The "event #" field is lower right, modify that with +/- to move to the next on/off event (set of fields)
    - Exit PGM mode by clicking the MODE button again at any time, or simply leave everything alone and it will timeout and return to normal operating mode.
    Most users will never need to program more than 2 events.

    Not easy to program with several flights of stairs between the computer and device. Add to it the need for reading glasses and flashlight and I'm left wondering what I got myself into. While I'm glad I found the video, I'm not sure this device was my best purchase. I may simply remove it and place it on my other great purchase - the treadmill.

    I would like to know if this timer can be programmed to only turn lights off. In other words you would turn them on by pushing the manual over ride button and it will always turn the lights off at night. I'm thinking that if I leave the first event "ON" time blank this will work but I don't know if the programming will allow me to advance to continue to program the first event "OFF" time. I believe you could do this with the larger intermatic ET series outdoor timers but the programming on this is a bit different.

    How long should the battery last? I just installed a battery a week ago and it's already flashing "BATT." Is it supposed to be a battery backup or is that the sole power source?

    • @IntermaticIncorporated
      @IntermaticIncorporated  Před 5 lety

      Batteries in a ST01 should last about 3 years. The timer will not switch on and off if the battery is dead. It is the sole power source.

  • @billlyndiarector9968
    @billlyndiarector9968 Před 3 lety

    Just to let everyone know, there is a BATTERY in this timer. When it goes dead, the screen goes dark and nothing works. Pull out the battery using the weird shaped plastic ridge inside the door.

    • @IntermaticIncorporated
      @IntermaticIncorporated  Před 7 lety +1

      Yes, that means it is time to change the battery. This timer uses a CR2 battery. The best place to find this battery is any store with a 1 hour photo counter (like CVS, Walgreens, or Walmart), as the battery was originally used in cameras. They should be back in the photo area.

      1. To delete an event in the ST01, go to the “Event” number to be deleted.
      2. Then press on/off and you will see the word ON or OFF flashing.
      3. Then press the + or - button until it says SKIP.
      4. Then press on/off again and that will save that and the event number flashes again.
      5. The event is now gone and the word SKIP should remain.
