Sooooo glad someone is FINALLY reacting to Baby Jane. A cult classic. Love this film. Love the series Feud: Bette and Joan, too. That would make a good reaction. It's the (very well done) story behind the making of Whatever Happened to Baby Jane (starring Jessica Lange and Susan Sarandon). Also, if you like this film, check out Hush Hush Sweet Charlotte (Bette Davis, Olivia DeHaviland) and Lady in a Cage (Olivia DeHaviland). I saw someone else comment that you should watch Sunset Blvd. That's a big yes, too. All of these movies are just not to be missed.

Fun Fact: Bette designed her own makeup for this movie. She knew just the look she was going for, and it sure worked!

OMG i loved The Bad Seed Rhoda was horrible. I saw that version, the 80s tv version and read the book. I liked all 3. I know the 80s version is hated but both movies were a mix match of the book. I watched The Ropers just to see grown up “Rhoda” (Patty McCormack) playing a sweet housewife 😂

This movie is in a very specific sub genre of horror at that time, they called the “hag” horror movie. They were movies starring famous actresses at the time playing older women who went crazy. Bette went on to do another one of these called, “Hush Hush Sweet Charlotte” that Joan was also supposed to be in, but that didn’t work out. Joan then did another, one of my favorites called, “Straight Jacket” if you ever want to check those out.

    • @LaPotraBellaca

I like this one but I honestly prefer the 1964 film Hush, Hush Sweet Charlotte better. It originally was supposed to star Bette Davis and Joan Crawford but after weeks of bs between the two stars, Joan Crawford was replaced with Olivia De Havilland. I highly recommend this one as well.

Great one..I love the plot twists..Blach was the villain manipulating Jane for years and manipulating the new care giver since she had no use for Jane and blanched ended paying for her chaos she help create..Jane cheese really slid off her crackers lol she didn’t just wanted to be acting a again but she wanted to literally be a little girl again..but the more I think on it the true villain was the dad created an environment that pin one against the other..great reaction🥰

I have a great black & white movie for you to watch. It's a thriller and when released, the movie asked NOT to reveal the ending. It's the 1956 THE BAD SEED with little Patty McCormack. Please watch this one and NOT the remake.

Blanche did it because Jane made fun of her at the party, also, Blanche was supposed to tell Jane the studio didn't want her and instead of telling Jane the truth, she decided to kill her instead after they got home from the party.

I also recommend 'Hush, Hush, Sweet Charlotte", made the next year after this. In many ways, it's a superior movie with a moodier aesthetic. Also with Bette Davis, but this time with Olivia de Havilland and Joseph Cotten in other roles. Joan was supposed to have the Olivia role, but why that didn't happen is the subject of many tv movies and miniseries and books. ;)

SUCH a classic… learning more about the story behind the film in ‘Feud’ was fascinating. The twist at the end, for me personally, is second only to The Sixth Sense.

This film has fascinated me since I was around 10 yrs. old and saw it for the first time. It was summer break and I stayed up late and watched it with my Dad on Saturday late night movies which used to air on antenna channel 54 out of Vancouver, BC. I’m dating myself I know😂it was the late 80’s. And I instantly loved it. And from that night to every night I’ve ever watched it, with much flourish, Jane’s pronunciation and an exaggerated twirl, I end up singing that “written a letter to daddy” song for like a week, getting on everyone’s nerves around me but I can’t even help it 🤣

If you love classics you have to react to the 1950 film Sunset Boulevard!!! Also speaking of Whatever Happened to Baby Jane, I HIGHLY suggest you react to the Ryan Murphy show Feud Bette & Joan. It’s about the the main FEUD between Bette Davis and Joan Crawford that happened behind the scenes drama behind the filming of Whatever Happened to Baby Jane: how it came to be/how it was made which was a miracle it was even finished given the toxicity between the two leads. It stars Susan Sarandon as Bette Davis and Jessica Lange (which you know well from American Horror Story) and you might see some faces from AHS alumni pop in here and there along with other A list Hollywood talent!!!! I’d love you to react to that!!! 🤞🤞🤞

If you search the internet you can find the TV interview where the host asks Bette Davis how she really feels about Joan Crawford. (who had just died) . She replied... "My mother told me you should never speak badly of the dead. Joan Crawford is dead. Good!"
